Definitely a must see in The Hague. It hosts the Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt as well as the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer, plus a lot of other masterpieces by Dutch and Flemish artists between 1400-1800. The collection itself isn't that big, but it's certainly worth a visit.

A nice art exhibit. The museum isn't very big and the entrance price isn't cheap. You can see the whole museum in about 45 minutes, although you certainly could take longer. The building is amazing and oozes history. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Beautiful museum with a very impressive permanent collection. Tip: Download the Mauritshuis App, with which you can do a free audio tour of the most famous paintings!
Very nice little museum with lots of pictures by famous painters. Here you can marvel at the girl with the pearl earring and many other pictures. Recommendable
Small but nice. Great museum in The Hague. Dutch / Flemish masters of the 16th & 17th century. Children and adolescents up to 18 years have free admission. If you focus only on the highlights, you spend a very entertaining 90 minutes. Full recommendation.
The Palace is closed so it becomes spontaneously mondate with the M from Mauritshuis. From floor to ceiling a monumental museum with masterful snapshots. During my visit, I imagine myself back in the current dimension for centuries. In short, that shows!
Great museum which is home to Vermeer's 'Girl With The Pearl Earring' and Rembrandt's 'The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp.' The building itself was gorgeous and it wasn't very crowded when we visited yesterday.
Awesome! The portrait of Willem van Oranje should have a nicer place. This older painting than the Dutch masterpieces is beautifully detailed and in my opinion heavily underestimated!
A nice museum with friendly staff who all greet you. The exhibitions are clear and beautifully designed. It is a museum with many masterpieces by various painters (Rembrandt, Vermeer, Rubens, Steen, Potter and so on). It makes it a beautiful museum that you would like to visit again.
The museum had a very good atmosphere, with a lot of works of art left in the Western-style building used at the time. Despite its small size, it contains valuable works such as Vermeer and is worth a look. Elevators were also installed, so families with poor feet could go around with ease.
Better than the last time except it's ridiculously hard to find from the train station and isn't on the tourist map from the information booth. Once I started walking towards the older looking buildings did signs pointing the way appear.
The Mauritshuis is a beautifully intimate museum in an old stately house, right next to the political heart of the Netherlands (the Binnenhof). It holds a unique collection of Dutch paintings, from the most famous (Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer and many Rembrandt's) but also lesser known paintings that tell the story of the development of the art of painting in the Netherlands, culminating in these greats of the Dutch Golden Age.
Due to the small rooms, the museum feels homely and compact, but is never crowded. It allows you to get up close and personal with great Master paintings in quiet comfort especially when compared to the Gallery of Honour of the Rijksmuseum.
In short, a visit to the Mauritshuis is The Hague is a must see for art lovers if you want to see intimate portraits by Rubens, Saenredams detailed Church interiors, Rembrandt's Anatomical Lesson or Vermeer's Girl!
The house and museum are a good place to dive inside the history of the Netherlands. I (17) visited with a friend (16). Because we're both under 18 we could get in for free!
impressive collection of dutch golden age masterpieces even w/out vermeer's pearled girl. beautifully renovated architecture & baroque style galleries; always a happy visit. -1 star for the institution's lack of action against its colonial + slavery past.
Exactly what I was looking for in a museum. Excellent artwork - indeed the best Dutch artwork you'll ever see - easily experienced within a few hours, and a moderate admission fee.
Magnificent museum. There is a failure of the central station of The Hague. The museum is beautiful and cozy. In the museum, in addition to the permanent exhibition, the Rembrandt exhibition is currently underway. And here is a "Pearl Girl Girl" Vermeer.
I visited many museums but it was a good art museum to put in my hand. The size is not big enough with carefully selected pictures, and the staff is very friendly. Especially the male staff who sold the ticket and were good at Korean. I was unhappy, but I was so cute that I was going to show it all in Korean, so I laughed a lot. It was fun, and the gift shop staff was very kind. The museum where everything was good!
Very nice museum, the building itself is already worth it. Unfortunately, the paintings are provided with a glass plate at eye level, which I personally find less beautiful. But good facilities such as elevators, toilets etc.
Beautiful paintings by famous painters, including "The girl with the pearl earring" by Vermeer, "The bull" by Potter and "The anatomy lesson" by Rembrandt.
Beautiful building and art work! There is an option to download the app of the museum for free and get all the details of the paintings. Really must do it!
The planning of the movement in the museum is clear, and you can download the app to listen or watch the video to understand the painting, very convenient!
Very busy. For children there was a digital quest through paintings. That provided a lot of back and forth with the result of warnings from security. This was brought negative. Not recommended for groups of children
The Mauritshuis is a beautiful museum, unfortunately our visit ended on Monday 10 June 2019 in a very bitter disappointment. At 5.45 pm the security staff drove all guests to the main exit like a herd with the announcement that we had to leave the building as quickly as possible. At that moment it was raining hard, a kind of cloudburst. The rain radar indicated that the shower would be over at 18.13, but the security was inexorable: "rules were rules". Everyone asked if we could take shelter from the stairs that would take us outside (it was now 17.55), but the security became increasingly unpleasant. I was called a middle finger from one of the guards, they made obscene gestures and my Australian girlfriend was called kakmadam. Too bad for words. I asked for the name of the security guard, but he didn't want to give it and I got a headache again. Eventually we were driven up the stairs and laughed at by the security guards, we were sent to the tunnel at the Binnenhof, where we waited, shivering and completely wet, until the rain stopped (indeed at 6.15 !!!). The only thing we asked all this time was if we could hide for another 10 minutes. And then you get such a treatment. A museum unworthy. At the Brasserie (which also closed at 6pm) the people were allowed to hide until 6.15 pm. I am a resident of The Hague and a regular visitor to various museums, in possession of a museum annual pass
Nice museum. Beautiful and varied collection of paintings. Too many to process all in one visit. There is a pleasant atmosphere and the view in between on the Hofvijver fits in well with it.
Interesting collection of paintings by Flemish painters. The climax with "Girl with a Pearl Ear" and "Anatomy Lesson" Visit facilitated with the museum application
One of the most charming museums in the world..! Relatively small, yet very rich in content. It doesn't exhaust your art perception. The beautiful interiors help you to enjoy the masterpieces of the Royal collection in full... It is amazing the museum is never overcrowded..!
