A timeless place to discover in a chronological journey the artists and the currents, the periods that built Dutch art. The contemporary is always there, in small subtle and well orchestrated touches, in the middle of the old.
The Jan Steel exhibit is a gem. I am very sensitive to the scenography and it was at the meeting (I will say no more)
The free download application allows you to punctuate the visit, when you wish, and enhance it with very interesting comments (appreciable anecdotes)
Finally the place, at the entrance, is a mixture of modern, without altering the old as I have discovered elsewhere in Rotterdam. It is beautiful and engaging with respect for the noble materials of yesteryear.
I do not even speak of the reception: staff smiling, friendly, warm and who takes all the time necessary to discuss, curious of where we come from and with a little advice on visits to do.

My favorite museum in Den Haag. A museum with an unrivaled collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. There are wonderful still lives, landscapes, pastoral scenes and portraits here. The renovations to the foyer are great.

Truly a small jewel, which for its size allows a comfortable visit with paintings that are more spectacular than the other, full of real masterpieces and technologically advanced, with wifi and app to better understand the paintings. Really not to be missed.

A small museum that collects the works of several Dutch painters. In particular by Vermeer and Rembrandt. The gem is represented by the girl with the pearl earring or practically the Dutch merry turban. I don't do my best because the staff don't speak the Italian language and the audio guide is limited to a few paintings.

On a Wednesday afternoon during the autumn holidays we visited the Mauritshuis. Before you go inside we also quickly walked into the courtyard to get a glimpse. Good entrance with lift down. It was unexpectedly quiet, delicious. Just walked around for an hour to enjoy the beautiful, already known paintings, really enjoy.

A must see if you come by The Hague. A lot of famous paintings and if you get the app, you can get the voice tour for free. Jan Steen's exhibition was very enjoyable and they gave a lot of details about his works and the history behind them.

This is a small museum with paintings from the golden age. Highly recommended, also note the building itself and the beautiful view. Make sure you are here early to avoid the many tourists. The permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition are separate. The museum year ticket can be used for the permanent.

Nice museum. With the children fun to do a treasure hunt. The audio tour on your app is also a good source of information about the paintings. Walked right through the courtyard. The building itself is also worth seeing.

Museum full of surprises.
Many paintings of great painters seen during my studies at French High Schools.
In addition, temporary exhibition of paintings by Rembrandt (until September 15, 2019).
The paintings are really very close to the visitor !!! (a few cm)

This was the first big museum in my life, and I was hit by the quality of the pieces they have, of course the girl with the pearl is the main attraction, and it is totally worth it, but take your time to check other works of art, discover like me, what you like and stare at it to see things you didn't know could be made by hand

One of the most important museums of Holland. Here you can admire two of the most famous paintings by the Dutch painter Jan Vermeer: The Girl with the Turban, also known as Girl with a Pearl Earring, and the View of Delft. Absolutely to visit.

Probably one of the most beautiful museums I have ever visited, even though it is very small and with few paintings (all very famous though) it has an excellent visit program, which never makes you bored !! Highly recommended visit!

Really nice museum with classics like "Girl with the pearl earring" from Johannes Vermeer. There's also a temporary exhibition, but it was closed when I visited so it might be a good idea to check the website before you visit!

Tip: the children's party. That is so much fun for (primary school) children! Treasure hunt through the museum, explanation of the most important works and painting in the studio. Kids loved it all!

Museum on a human scale and not too gigantic like the Louvre or Versailles ...
You can take the time to appreciate each work quietly and benches are arranged almost in each room.
A nice cafeteria is in the basement and offers different Dutch specialties such as the famous croquettes ...
In addition we have a bird's eye view of the office of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands ...

A classic. A Must See. The Mauritshuis is located in the center of The Hague, next to the Torentje on the Hofvijver. And is an attraction in itself. The collection contains classics such as Rembrandt's Anatomy lesson, the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer, Het Puttertje by Fabritius and the Bull by Potter. The collection is well-arranged. A visit to the Mauritshuis is easy to combine with a visit to the parliament. It is directly against it. The entrance fee is not expensive. Children up to the age of 18 are free.
