I'm usually very satisfied with what I order at Matthew's 1600 but on a recent visit, I ordered the Parisian sandwich. It's described as turkey, brie and greens on flat bread. However, what I got was ham (I think it was Hillshire Farm!), brie and greens on flat bread. Believe it or not, I didn't complain. It was delicious!! Not sure how it tastes with turkey but they should start offering it both ways.

My husband and I went for the first time and the place is very vintage I like that the restaurant framework looks like a home. I'm assuming the place used to be a house. Also the food choices were awesome and their cinnamon was delicious. It was warm and fresh. I also tried their winter berry champagne and it was awesome. Together we spent about 60 dollars so to me that means you can have fine dinning at a reasonable cost only because the prices are not that bad. Compared to Oceaniers or Ruth Chris. We will be returning back no doubt.

I drive place this place on my way home and the parking lot is all full. I looked them up online and the menu read like a good meal. My goddaughter and I dined this evening and the menu lived up to my expectations and then some. Our waiter Jason did an excellent job. We will definitely back!!!

I was trying to schedule an event (mind you "was") and called the restaurant to reach the event manager but he was "busy". Staff weren't overly eager to assist, more eager to rid of the phone call; nonetheless, I was determined. Over the next 7 hours I called another four times. I left my information (hoping for a callback) and kept trying. The event's manager was steadily "busy, in a meeting". I had expected he'd run out of breath after all these meetings, but I was inexplicably wrong.

I'm local. I have been in the God-forsaken bar plenty times and promise you the manager's endless energy is not because of their food, which is at best, mediocre. It's likely because he likes "meetings" more than he likes doing business.
Sole reason I was trying to schedule my event there was because its proximity to my business (work event). Despicable me...plenty of good restaurants around with better food and service...

Today (April 2019) was my first visit to Matthew's 1600. The decor and layout of the facility was charmingly beautiful. The staff was very pleasant. Our server was delightful, patient and knowlegeable of the menu. My selected meal was delicious. I look forward to my next visit, and would gladly recommend Matthew's 1600 to my special friends.

This place has 5 star ambience (and prices), but unfortunately doesn't live up to its potential. Wait staff was pleasant but definitely untrained properly for this level of restaurant. Food was generally good quality but my plate was entirely unseasoned. However the gravy and crab dip were overly salty. There was a literal forest of broccoli rabe on my plate, and the potatoes had little taste. The lamb was cook correctly to medium rare. Hopefully they can correct these issues however I don't think I'll be coming back.

Mattew's is a regular destination for us. The chicken wings are pretty close to the famous Anchor Bar wings in Buffalo. There are several great salads and enough range to meet vegetarians for dinner. There is also a gluten-free dessert which is a big deal for GF people. The French onion soup is very inconsistent. However, the manager is very responsive on the days that it is not good. I keep ordering it because I love it and when it is good, it is really good!

We really like this place. The atmosphere in the bar side is comfortable but upscale. The menu has a really nice range of options from great wings and quesadillas to very solid dinner entrees and salads. If you like pot roast you must try the dinner entree or the pot roast sandwich. I truly hate to say this because my mom made excellent pot roast -- but theirs is honestly better than hers by quite a bit. It melts in your mouth and comes with this red wine sauce that is amazing. They also have very good burgers and great dessert options - a couple varieties of large homemade cookies with ice cream and different sauces. To die for. Service is very friendly here too - whether at the bar or in a booth. Just a nice overall place with reliably good food and service. There's also a more formal dining room on the other side but we have never eaten in there.

My family had lunch there after the funeral of a beloved aunt. There were about 30 of us. We were in a pleasant private room and very capably served by Kristie. She was pleasant, efficient and very hard working. She was excellent and catered to every request. All the food was delicious. Great venue.

This is one of the best quality and atmosphere restaurants in Catonsville. Their food is always delicious and worth every penny. Their food is excellent, and I have never had a bad meal. I personally love their iced tea, matthew's chicken sandwich, crab cake, asparagus, tender pot roast meal and sandwich, and CRAB PRETZEL IS SO SO GOOD! Definitely try out this place!

The food was yummy. Attended an office lunch. Everyone seemed to enjoy their menu choice. I ordered their burger, which was cooked to temperature (medium) nicely. Pair it the bleu cheese dressing, it's made in-house and really tasty. Careful with addons or random requests since they do nickel and dime a bit e.g. $2.50 for a soda water (like literally from the bar soda station--- i've a thing for fizzy water). Not a big deal, just be mindful. Won't stop me from returning and trying other selections. :)

The fish tacos were okay. The service was great. The seafood trio was disgusting. Flavorless , and greasy. The rice didn t even have flavor. My party wasn t satisfied with their food either. I won t return. The seafood trio and crab cakes and jumbo shrimp (disgusting white shrimp with no natural flavor) should be removed from the menu.
