Very pricey, lacking in taste, crab soup was good but for $7 I expect more. The place is dead and smells like mold.

Excellent french onion soup. Crabcakes and reuben was awesome. This place was great.
Twas the best dinner I have had and I have gone there often since that day the crab dip is to die for
Used to come here often with friends on our weekly rides from Glen Burnie. After seeing the damage from the floods, it breaks my heart thinking about the misery you all must be going through. Hope you're able to bounce back quickly.
The rooftop bar area really makes this a great spot during the summer. The inside is a little dated, and the food is okay, but I come here only for nice weather outdoor seating with a beautiful view.
Dinner 12/24/2013 - First impressions from the hostesses were not good and indicated a mismatch between prices on the menu and service. They just lacked the sincere charm of a good hostess you would expect in an expensive restaurant. As we went to our table I took a glance at the floor, the kitchen and I saw old and worn. This is not the old and worn of an 1800 building, but the old and worn of the updates. I looked down at our table and the chairs looked hard and cheap, no cushion. We were seated with two square tables put together. One of them was so uneven that water would spill when it shifted between it's two positions of unevenness. How could you set up a table like that and not notice or adjust it? The room was cold. We mentioned it and the waitress said yes she would turn on the base boards. We were not the only people in the dining room, why not have that room toasty to begin with? We waited for our food forever. It took very long. One burger came out uncooked and was returned. Nothing I had was bad, but also nothing was great. NOTHING was worth the price they charged. Our waitress was fine. She is not to blame. By the time we left and were putting on our coats the room was warm. I would NOT recommend Cacao Lane. Next time we will try one of the many other restaurants.
Went here for lunch today. Ordered the Rockfish tacos, which took about half an hour to come out. Tacos had a fishy smell and taste, and were downright awful. I was with a large party, which may explain the time, but burgers and other dishes came out about 15 min prior to all tacos. 3-4 people had the fish tacos and all hated them. Won't be coming back...
I had a great experience in this restaurant. The male host and the waitress were so friendly. The service was great. Our food was delicious. The tomato and basil soup and the French onion soup were very good. Our sirloin salad and focaccia bread were so good. We sat in a window seat and enjoyed people watching and the nice old music. I really like the ambiance of the place. I would definitely go back if I visit MD again.
Very polite service, the food was served promptly and tasted very fresh.
would do zero stars if possible.. went into the bar on first floor opened a tab... tried to close tab after 2 beers and bar tender (young long dark hair tall and skinny) told me literally to "F*** myself" out loud because I "couldn't read" the small 8x11 computer paper sign taped to the top of the bar that said "$10 minimum for a tab" when i walked in.... I am a local for 24 years and well NEVER go back.
worst experience ever, horrid staff who treated us with total disrespect
we will never be back and would recommend that no one ever go to this place.
we were hit with an 18% mandatory gratuity even though there was horrible service, even though we only had a family of five for lunch.
Nice quiet dark clam spot to enjoy a conversation. :)
...but the last few times the service was painfully slow. Just last week my companion and I just got up and left after the soup and the long wait that followed. We were asked if we wished to speak with the manager by a host who appeared sincerely sorry, but we saw no point in doing that. My favorite is (was) the window seat, but it's no fun sitting there without food!
Judging from the prior comments, I'm not the only one to notice. This place was great, but no longer. They had the best cheesesteaks, now they're not even on the menu. The onion soup was dreadful. I don't mind expensive restaurants, but at least the food should be good. $80 for 4 people to get lunch? Do yourself a favor. Go to the Trolley Stop. Half the price, twice as good. As far as I'm concerned Cacoa Lane is closed. It's a real shame.
Outside bar upstairs is fun. Staff can be hit or miss.
