My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Mastro s BH last year and it was such a great experience. Everything from the filet mignon down to the outdoor vibe, thanks again to Mastros for making our anniversary even more special!

I used to love coming here! And the last several times I went I was not impressed. They have really catered to the "Western" taste and is no longer authentic. I am Burmese and have just gotten back from Burma and I'm here to say Burma Superstar ain't worth the long wait for mediocre food.
Hmm for a first time visit and being a meat lover, we were off to a rocky start as my hubby and I were the first ones in the dining area for dinner sit down, celebrating our anniversary and wanting an early evening, the dining room was abuzz with the wait staff talking and not using their quiet whisper voices. Once other people started arriving they had work to do. Our waiter was good the food was delicious and while we were told our dessert was comped, it sadly was not, no biggie it's just words, right? Anyway we will not be returning as we are lovers of another steak place, closer to us in MDR. I can honestly say, it would be great for groups as a group would be loudly talking and drown out the waiters chatting.
Mastro's has become such a fixture in Beverly Hills with it's old school elegance and feel that you'd think it's been around since the Golden Era of Hollywood. It's a consistent hit in the steak and ala carte menu game.
My filet tasted off, almost gamey. My stomach still hurts as I write this review. Service wasn t great, probably because we don t drink, so they kind of ignored us. Took 30 minutes to get the check, had to ask for it multiple times as our server was having long winded conversations about wine with other tables. I won t come back.
It's the finest restaurant, both in name and reality, but on weekend nights there are a lot of people and it's a mixed feeling. It seems that you can encounter a celebrity living in Beverly Hills if the timing is right.
You can fully enjoy the feeling of being a celebrity by dressing up a little and leaving your car in the valley.
Things you must get: Lobster mashed potatoes. Steak (however you like it). Brussels Sprouts. Mac n Cheese. And like others already encouraged, but I must reiterate: SAVE ROOM FOR THE BUTTER CAKE.
Exceptional food always! I cant wait for COVID to be over so we can dine there again, ordered for delivery and it was amazing like always. The lamb chops are out of this world and a must try!
Best steak and seafood that I ve ever had in my life. Yeah, I had to take out a second mortgage on my condo to eat here but hey, you only go around once right? Life s too short not to dine on the best! I m going to get a loan on my car title to come back tomorrow! It s that good!
Some of the best tasting steak I've had. Went there for an anniversary. Their service is on point. Can't remember the waiters name but he was very knowlegable and had great suggestions.
They said my wife was dressed a little 2 sexy and requested she put on a jacket. Besides that every thing was great. The food and Ambience was excellent.
First of all, 29 years later, I have the opportunity to experience a "fancy restaurant." And it was fantastic! Our waitress, Victoria and her crew, yes there was other people helping wearing black uniform, men in black. They were ALL AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC! Made my family and I's first time here feel so welcome and included. I'm typically a Denny's guy. (Joke) The atmosphere for this penthouse was amazing as well! The live music. ** What you REALLY want to know. THE FOOD! Exquisite! I had the bone in filet 12 oz steak and it is to die for! Incredibly tasteful along with the lobster smashed potatoes, which is a must try! Delicious all around! My wife had the WHOLE HERB ROASTED BRANZINO. Which was amazing as well. A whole fish on the plate with deliciousness all over it! Had an amazing experience here for our very first time. Hoping to do it again some time soon
We were in Cali only for a couple of days. Our taxi driver recommended this place for dinner...it did not disappoint. It was a good meal in a great atmosphere. There was live music the night we were there. Pricey, but worth it for a nice evening out.
Man real nice Venue , our Host Niko and Julian are the best , Great atmosphere, great people, great food and plenty of it , YES sir family and friends like it , and will be visiting again , Yes .
One of the greats places in town! Food is AMAZING and service is always great for us. Place have this LA vibe that everyone loves. Great place for bday, anniversary!
What is there left to say about this high end establishment. Perfectly cooked steaks, great sides, great portions, it was all great. Not being one to beat a dead horse, I'll move on to the things that prevented me from giving a 5 star, but I'll still end it on a positive... I just cant bring myself to rate a steak house highly (perfectly) when hot plates are used. Sorry, just not going to do it. To be honest, that is primary, if not the sole reason for the 4 star. I really came in to Mastros expecting to rate it a 3. I had Masteos built up to be some pretentious place. The kind of place I loathe. But, I'm a reasonable person. The ambiance and especially the staff won me over. Everybody that works here is surprisingly nice. they dont put on a show. It is definitely a place I recommend. It definitely is on the pricey side too. In my opinion, it's worth it.
The standard for me as far as steakhouses go. Chef's Cut Rib Eye is just about as good as a steak can get. A nice surprise is the excellence of the seafood tower which I thought was even better than the Water Grill. The warm butter cake is insanely good but must be shared amongst at least three people after the decadent meal that precedes it. Service is always top notch
Had great dinner here tonight. The filet was excellent. The place reminds me of old style steak house from back east. My absolute favorite thing in that place is the wine selection. Not a huge fan of spinach, but their creamed spinach and baked potato which comes was the best The service was also excellent. The employees are fantastic, plenty of parking and it's in one of my favorite neighborhoods. If want to experience some of the best steak in the united states you have to come here.
Let them make thier $$$ on the people they are friends with and see how long they stay in business. Diners beware go someware else, we were highly recommend staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel, never again, when you spend $1,000 for dinner you should leave happy.
I'm a little confused about Mastro's Steakhouse vs. The Penthouse. I'm just going to assume that the penthouse is upstairs? Anyways, we came for a birthday dinner. It was every bit of a classic steakhouse with brick columns and a shiny lamp on each table.
The cheese and pretzel breads were served warm with butter. They tasted good. The pretzel buns look a lot like sea-salt crusted version of Trader Joe's pretzel buns.
$50 8 oz. Petite Filet: Very good! Tasty, well-seasoned, and springy. Slightly pink in the center with a slight crust on the outside.
$63 22 oz. Bone-In Ribeye: Very good! Mmm ribeye. This is massive and could probably be shared between two people. Also cooked to an excellent medium-rare.
$14 Roasted Brussels Sprouts: No bueno! I love roasted Brussels sprouts, and I love most roasted vegetables, but it was pretty clear that these were roasted too long. Some of the pieces were just burnt. For $14, I'd prefer them to be not burnt.
$14 Garlic Mashed Potatoes: Good! This tray of mashed potatoes could easily be shared with a family of four.
$16 Mastro's Signature Warm Butter Cake: Excellent! Delicious butter cake with cut up strawberries and a scoop of ice cream on top. They decorated our plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate, which was a nice touch. It doesn't sound terribly special, but it was a fancier version of a warm, very comforting pound cake.
Overall the food was delicious, except for the burnt Brussels sprouts. Service was very friendly. A solid choice if you're looking for looking to satiate a steak craving.
Good Food, poor seating I went to Mastros Beverly Hills for my wedding anniversary. That was my first time there, and I guess I had high expectations being it was a special day for us and the restaurant knew it. We had early reservations so there weren't alot of people. The hostess was rude that checked us in and then we were seated in a side of the restaurant that felt like we were sitting next to the kitchen busing area. And we were seated directly next to another couple when there were plenty of other tables available. Talk about no special evening and feeling like I was in the conversation with the table next to us because we were so close. The waiter was amazing and the food was good. But I could have made a meal at home and felt more romantic and intimate than being at this place. Plus spent way less money. To top it off, when we have attended a restaurant for our anniversary before, we at least got a dessert or something with specs anniversary notation. Lady next to us and the table to the other side, both desserts with special notations for their event. Really made me and my husband feel like red headed step children. Sorry Mastros, you can keep your expensive non romantic atmosphere. I will knock my anniversary celebration out of the park on my own next time......totally not worth it.
Steak was pretty good even thou it was small. It is very prices, but look where it s located. You have to order everything on the side, which makes it price. I like my steak well done but any longer and it would ya e disappeared. Nice place to go on a date or for a special occasion.
We ordered Mastro's delivery and made them well aware we needed plates as it was coming to our hotel at The W Beverly Hills. The food came with no plates and not as much as an apology when we called. We dine frequently a Mastros establishments in Scottsdale and the service is spot on. I guess they missed the customer service training at the Beverly Hills location
Best caesar salad ever with wasabi. Steak was melt in your mouth and topped with fois gras made it special. Loved the escalloped potatoes. Service impeccable, music, atmosphere and eye candy awesome. Will be back
I was surprised about how casual it was when all the messaging g for this restaurant was upscale. The food was OK, our steak was a little over cooked. Very dark setting
I have been a long time patron of Mastros at almost every location for over 15 years. That long term loyalty has now come to an end due to the Slander, Prejudice and Discrimination I experienced at the Beverly HIlls Location in front of my Family.
I was checking into my room across the street at the Montage and instructed my Family to meet me at Mastros since they were hungry. When I enter the Restaurant Security Immediately surround me and state I have to leave. I was shocked and asked why. Their response - " You cant come in here with that MAGA Hat" .. i was shocked because I have been to Mastros (different locations) plenty of times and have never been asked to remove my hat or denied entry. They state there are no baseball hats allowed - I explained my family was waiting me and that this is NOT a baseball hat hence no Professional Logo or insignia. Security laugh and state "Well you're not coming in here with that hat so leave now!" I ask for a manager and they said "He will tell the same thing, just leave".. Fortunately a member in my party heard there was issue and peaked down from the staircase - I told her to get the manger - she did.
Manager approaches and asks what the issue is - i explained what happened - he states there are no hats allowed in the restaurant..Yet there were guest in the restaurant with hats - I pointed it out and he noticed i was recording and then asked why - i explained i felt unsafe being surrounded and addressed by security so it was to protect me from the possibility of their misrepresentation of my demeanor. I was calm and collected the entire time. He then apologized and said "if you dont want to abide by the rules, go ahead" I confirmed it was okay to proceed to my table, he confirmed. Throughout the night Security and staff are watching and walking by our party giving uncomfortable looks. We decide to leave after our meal and go upstairs to the Penthouse.
I see friends of mine upstairs and greet them accordingly. Since we had minors with us i told her (my peer) i would be back once I take the minors and my adult guest to their room at Montage. I return to Mastros upstairs and my friends see me and call me over to the table. I get introduced all around and excuse myself to the restroom. When coming out of the restroom my friend is at the door asking "What the H*ll is going on?! As soon as you left Security came to our table asking who you were, how we knew you and if you were bothering us..we told him no, you are a friend and then they left"...WOW..I was shocked and as she finished her story the security walked behind me into the males restroom and she stated "He was one of them.." Then a Woman MANAGER comes between us and asks MY FRIEND "Are you okay?" My friend confused, replies "Yes...why?" Manger says ok and walks away...I state "Excuse me, why did you ask that?" She ignores me and looks at my hat then rolls her eyes...I realize this is a personal issue she has and ask "What is your name, are you a manager?" She confirms she is a manager and refuses to give me her name... At that point I ask for the GM who i spoke to earlier and security that is once again circling me states "You have to leave now"... I ask why and they state i am causing a disturbance...WOW.. THE ONLY DISTURBANCE IS SECURITY AND THAT MANGER APPROACHING MY FRIENDS WHILE DINING AND QUESTIONING THEM ABOUT ME!
I wait for GM to come and when he does he is very standoffish and I resort to just asking for a card to handle on a different occasion since i was being Ejected and embarrassed publicly in front of my friends, my fans and guests there. They have security escort me out down the elevator which was a form of intimidation and as i left heard one say "Dont come back Trump" ... DESPICABLE! Never in my life have I been treated this way! SHAME ON YOU MASTROS If you have a problem with my political stance, please keep it to yourself, no need to treat me any different than any other person.
