I confirm the previous reviews. Rude and rude staff especially the lady at the checkout today. We go in, get food at the counter, then we notice the tables outside and ask to sit down, willing to pay for table service anyway, even though we already had the food in hand. After a few exchanges, the young lady agrees, not without muttering some complaints. We sit down, not even the time to look at the food that the girl immediately approaches to take the drink orders and we ask for a moment. The aforementioned lady returns from the cashier and, with the tone of someone who seems to have never interacted with the public, imposes the consumption of the drink without even bothering to understand if we had ordered or not. We would have ordered after the other. We get up and ask to speak to the management: absent. A very kind and helpful guy intervenes who takes the situation in hand for good and better and to whom we explain what happened. Meanwhile, the lady always from the cash register raises her voice to make her reasons in front of the public. A truly embarrassing situation that those on vacation to relax do not deserve to experience. In the end we had the savory dishes ordered at the counter and a dessert accompanied by coffee with ice ordered at the table. Surely there was a misunderstanding (moreover easy to manage and resolve) but we would never have expected such an inappropriate reaction from this employee who would probably do well to change jobs, failing to relate without shouting and ranting with the same gestural accompaniment scenographic.

I update my review on 2017, where unfortunately I have to report a worsening of the situation, especially as regards the mignon pastry. The Martinucci are a Salentina guarantee, characterized by a series of distinctive features that are manifested in all the premises of this famous chain. Air conditioning with polar currents, endless rows of customers every hour, staff among the most stressed in Puglia, more than correct prices, discreet quality. Then some of these places have a worse pastry shop than the others (like that of Lido Marini), or they may be more beautiful and welcoming (like that of Specchia), but in general they remain above average for the characteristic pasticciotto. This of Lido Marini is probably the least beautiful and the most chaotic.
There is everything to tease without committing to going to a restaurant. Excellent for those who go down or go up to the sea.

Basically Martinucci doesn't need reviews because he is the symbol of good ice cream in Puglia. This location confirms the excellence of the company: top ice cream, courteous and fast staff. There is often a queue but waiting times are short thanks to the good organization of the counter operators.
There is also the possibility to buy ice cream in tubs for 16 per kilo but the cost is worth the effort.

20 years since I go in this place every time I stay in Lido Marini. High quality food and huge choice of products for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sometimes employees are very stressed but how could it be different with the hundreds of clients they have daily during summer.
Excellent pastry, excellent ice cream but as for service, kindness and courtesy we are zero stars. Not a smile, it seems that they do you a favor to serve you and moreover I'm not cheap. So for me the counter closes. I really do not recommend it
