I went to the Walnut room with my husband for lunch. We had the buffet Wich had a nice selection of foods, the waitress we had was very polite but upbeat, she was very attentive and made sure we felt at home. I will say, I had a bit of a dry piece of chicken which kind of threw me off a loop, but other than that everything else was perfect. Even desert was great, making your own "snow men" out of ice cream, chocolate chips and cherry licorice is something I have enjoyed doing since I first went there. They have "fairies" going around talking to children, asking for their wishes and sprinkling "fairy dust" on them, making it a very magical experience for the little ones.

I went to the Walnut room for lunch at the old Marshall Field's Department Store. I haven't been there in over 30 years so it was a pleasant surprise to see that it is still there and maintained the high standard of service and food it had back then. It is a beautiful and large space that still felt cozy when at the table. There was Walnut wood trim and paneling throughout, white tablecloths, excellent service and tasty food. The lunch menu is quite reasonable. I had a really nice grilled asiago cheese sandwich and a delicious and hearty cup of soup, but there was a healthy variety of other dishes available, something for everyone. I think the quality is just as good or better than it was 30 years ago. I'm definitely planning to go back again.

Heartbreaking how much Macy's has let the once beautiful Marshall Field's building decline. The buildings decay was very obvious with cracks, paint chips and their poor attempt at repair or cover ups. The bathrooms were like entering a bus depot bathroom. Just disgusting.

The Macy's store itself was poorly displayed and used old signed that made the store look very poor. It was also hard to find a sales associate in any department. If this is to be the Macy's flagship store to the Chicagoland and the Midwest it is an embarrassment.

Macy's should have never changed Marshall Fields to their brand, at least not this historic location. This gets only one star from me, if I could give zero I would. It gets one star from me legitimately because at least I was able to get Fango candies made famous by Marshall Fields and wisely continued by Macy's.

I remember back 40 years ago, I made my first visit to Marshall Fields & got a backroom tour. I saw the ladies that made the Frango mints by hand, much like the famous I Love Lucy episode. It's nice a Macy's but the mints are still being sold!

One of the department stores I loved. Located at State Street Chicago Loop. Today Macy's has become an amazingly beautiful store with Tiffany's incredible ceiling.
And there was always a reality all year long.
You should always check in the ward itself for example women's jackets, behind the side there is the goods clearence that has a 70-80% discount.
On the ground floor there is a restaurant. And on the top floor there is an excellent and recommended restaurant.

Great old building that used to be a real shopping destination. A Macy's now, and a bit of a shadow of it's former glory, still a great place to visit. Check out the historical information on the 7th floor (I think it was...).

Macy's.

Because everyone needs true #LOVE, kindness, a cute puppy? Perhaps an owl would suffice? How about a teddy bear? Well the jewelry is what I'm talking about, I could but them all, they are adorable. The renovation at this store makes the store much organized as well clean, love love love the new design. And if course as always, it feels So #GoodToBeBad

They have a starbucks and other restaurants in the basement. You can also test out the some snacks in their candy area. THe batch of "old school" candies you can buy is also reasonable. If you're going shop it's best to get their membership card and come during the sales.

Marshall Field's is a great historical building with lots of great things to see, it has the beautiful Tiffany ceiling, the great Walnut Room, you can also purchase the delicious famous Franco mints there. The famous Marshall Fields building is now owned by Macy's. Macy's is a great store to shop, eat, drink and just have fun, it's a store for all ages.

Located in the heart of downtown Chicago. Let's be real, the heyday of this company has long passed them as their marketshare is getting eaten alive by online retailers who offer better competitive pricing. To enjoy this place, you have to appreciate the ambiance and experience of the holiday spirit. I think there are better options available being in the city but I also understand why people patronize this establishment. Try going to the top floor to get a view if the Christmas tree. Not sure if I would come back. Nothing really that stands out.
