I'm rating one star because of the horrible noise coming from construction right out front of the hotel, and the rude staff upon check out. Would not recommend staying here if you want a good nights sleep as construction was going on all night and woke both of us up at 7am with loud drills and god knows what else.
Didnt know check out was at 10am, and assumed it was 11am, so just after 10 we got a rude call saying we would have to pay $10 to stay till 11am, and of course I refused to pay. We got out of there as soon as possible!

My suggestion would be read the fine print before booking this hotel because when you book they charge you immediately with a transaction fee but when you cancel more than a week out from being there, the don't refund the transaction fee and when queried, they send you back a screen shot of the fine print. Reason for cancellation was they could guarantee parking, its first in gets parking, driving 10 hours this is not what you want when arriving. It should be advertised as that and not advertised as free cancellation.

REPULSIVE!!!! Check in for a couple of days and could not figure out why I was getting sicker and sicker until today when I got the test results back from the Doctor, Samonalle. I didn't even eat anything out of the kitchen, WHAT THE @@. By the time I left the hotel I was that ill and went straight to the doctors.

The plark build up in the basin of the room was horrible and under the rim of the toilet was sicking.

I challenge mannagerment to disprove this fact.

Conveniently located for the Queen Street mall and a short walk to QPAC.
Look for specials and they do have secure parking but apparently round the corner is less expensive. Clean comfortable rooms. Woulsstay there again.

Stayed one night and decided to stay elsewhere for the remainder of my stay in Brisbane, heater wasnt working correctly, elevator was under repairs, my room was filthy and the staff treated me terribly when this was brought to their attention.. I do NOT recommend staying here to anyone.

For its rate it's an alright place to stay but it's not super special. I booked two separate rooms, both with an iPod docking station/ radio and WiFi. Only one of the two rooms didn't have that docking station and just one chair, the other room had two. When I entered the room, the air conditioning, the radio and the light was switched on, not very environment friendly. The shower in my room could have been a bit more "focused" instead of all over the place. When I booked the rooms, I was excited to be able to go the hotel's own gym and indoor/ outdoor pool. Both facilities (outdoor pool only) were rather disappointing and not well-maintained. The ladder to the pool was unstable and the water ice cold. There wasn't sufficient lighting either. The gym was a cabin with a very old treadmill, a bike and a dusty weightsthingy, not sure how that should have been used appropriately. There was no water supply and the place looked rather messy. The hotel breakfast was alright but if you wanted decent coffee, you had to buy it. The hotel staff however was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was quite clean.

I like this place. Not a lot, but I do like it. The staff are friendly and attentive in accommodating your every need even if it isn't always with an ostentatious smile. I think the building that is now the hotel has some prestige to it - creaky floors and drab old school interiors which have clearly been renovated recently. I think this is the Rendezvous hotel chain's modus operandi. Also, fabulously located in Brisbane's city centre.

The only two gripes I have (the former of which is a future potential deal breaker) are that the bed was not comfy and the sink was blocked.

Absolutely discusting. One of the worst place's I have stayed in and I have stayed in a few. Staff were friendly and helpful but the room was disgusting. Hair on the roof, on the so called clean linen, all over the floor. Mould in the bathroom all over the shower walls and when you tried to flush the toilet it stuck, so it was constantly running for over an hour till you could right it. The pool needs to be cleaned and retiled. The only thing it had going for it was the view of South Bank, but that will be going soon due to redevelopment.

The worst hotel I have ever have before.

The worst hotel I have ever have before.
The room is dark, to single room combined together, cannot sleep comfortably.
The bathroom is small. The table is not very stable. All facilities look very old.
The early morning has alarm set, all cooking smelling.
Terrible experience.

I was not made aware of the $50 they were going to sting me for parking.
Pool was only half full and apparently under repairs (in the middle of summer) the shower had no water pressure, my mrs ended up washing her hair in the basin. TV had really bad picture on most channels. restaurant was closed (no room service) and to top it off manager was rude and had rotten teeth possibly a crack head. She threatened me with debt collectors if I didn't pay for the parking which was embarrassing. I could of caught the train there for about $7 they simply did not mention parking fees till was checking out.

Excellent location. The rooms have a poor and old decor. In the bathroom I found only a bar of soap and a small container of shampoo. No one came to clean the room and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, I had to call the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. Internet for a fee and limited in the UK, absurd! Breakfast for over $ 20 per person, absurd! The payment of the room took place before our arrival and they applied extra fees on the price indicated on Booking, I find it incorrect. Decide on a price and charge that price. In Europe government authorities would have already fined them. During the stay the fire alarm went off, probably, without reason, and we walked down from the thirteenth floor and no one who assisted us or said what had happened, an absolute disorganization.

Shame the spa didn't work... great room though.

Also a tad noisy at the mo due to construction works over the road.

I would stay again, however would avoid the lower end room.

Pic is of the raised spa in our room.

Do NOT stay here! So many problems! Totally unorganised. Very rude service, they didn t have my room that I paid for in advance so they DOWNGRADED me AND charged me for it. Then at 11pm they kicked me out onto the street and refused to refund the nights I had paid for because I had a panic attack in their hallway. Overall, horrible place to be, very uncomfortable beds and horrible food. I would never ever stay here again. Disgusting rooms with unclear showers and the pool hasn t been cleaned it years.

Australian prices are high.

Australian prices are high.
About 12,000 yen per night without breakfast?
In Australia, it's a reasonable business hotel style.
The building itself seems old, but I think it is clean and the staff's response is good.

Name of accomodation changed & we weren't told prior so spent a bit of time trying to find the place. $25 per night for parking which we weren't aware of. Our booking didn't go through so they didn't have our details when we checked in. Sticky tape on the windows ? For A leaky seal. Tiny bathroom. Not given enough towels for number of people in our room. Requested another and still waiting an hr later.

Nicely located. The room were of an okay size. The number of towels were inadequate, the aircondition sparsely working, the room were immensely hot and the check-in procedure were based on the premise that check-in hours were in the afternoon. A fee of 20$ could be paid.

Not the best experience. Not very friendly front of house team - Jonathan was first person to smile at us after being there for a night already. No one acknowledges you when you walk through the door.
Room was ok, just a sheet on the bed no duvet or cover. Shower was hanging out of the wall not looking very safe and not enjoyable to use, it was very dark in the bathroom. Very dated furniture - seems like the art deco theme is just an excuse for them to not update anything.
In a good location for the city and quiet night.
Breakfast well served by polite and hard working chef but no one on diner duty - had to order breakfast at reception and just find our way around the dining room. Food went cold very quickly. Sausages were not nice at all.
Would not stay here again.

In general, service was alright, but there was nothing too special about staying here. Water pressure in the showers were very low, even for hotel standards, and there was no complimentary breakfast.

From the moment we arrived outside I noticed cleanliness was not a priority. Even the lift was dirty. Carpet in the room had horrible marks. Bed, very uncomfortable. Gym is a shed with a treadmill and a weight machine, not really a gym. Toiletry was soap and shampoo, not even a shower cap. We could hear all the noise on the corridor. View was great, but the only great thing. We looked the reviews on bookings and they were great. Either the standards of those on booking were really low or they were old reviews, as after arriving I checked on google and they weren t great either.

A perfect location on George Street. Not in the heart of CBD with heavy traffic of car and people. Close to some of the best Asian restaurant and the Casino. A good river view of South Bank. My only rating for 3 is the room that needs upgrade to new. And the air vent needs a major clean up. Not recommended to be in the room for too long.

Ok bathroom could do with a better clean,
And removal of broken rail mounts etc may present it alittle better.

Mold was visible in certain areas which were missed.

Reasonable price for a night stay.

Alittle outdated and quite small rooms, but has the basics you need for an overnight stay.

View was from the 13th floor ... better at night.

Staff were wonderful.

It was in a key location thou.

We stayed at great soutbern hotel in Melbourne and knew what to expect. What i want in a hotel room, is clean room comfortable bed and everything working. We are staying two nights and for what we paid very happy. You cant get 5 star if you dont pay 5 star. We are going to footy so it is also convenient. We will come back

If you want a very basic 2 or 3 star room and service then this is a good place to overnight. 9am and one staff member on front desk duty. Nobody to bring up a bar of soap. Basic linen is supplied, nothing 4 star about the linen. There's honestly nothing that I can see as 4 star so not sure how they managed to get a 4 star rating. At max this might pass as a 3 star establishment. Expensive parking. Room smelled like the previous guest had smoked in the room. General maintenance would lift the hotel. Bathroom door is desperately needing maintenance and a paint. Shower head sprays everywhere else except for on you.
Hotel doesn't accept pay pass, so you can't tap your phone. You will have to pay with your physical bank card.

This should not be advertised as a 4 star hotel, that is very deceptive. Based on the images online I booked this hotel for 2 nights with my two month old daughter, specifically requesting a crib. We arrived to a not very friendly staff and an out dated room. I was surprised there was no bath but I thought I could just shower my daughter. The shower was terrible, water only came out from the outside, sprouting everywhere but where you need it. I couldn't take a baby in there and the sink was shallow so my daughter went 2 days without a proper bath. I would never have booked this room if I knew this. I called reception to ask for the requested crib and a room with a bath. I was told that wasn't an option and they bought up a portable crib.
Breakfast is terrible, $6.50 for literally 2 pieces of bread that you toast yourself. Don't bother. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned all year and was missing a metre of water, so gross.
Pretty disappointing experience. The cleaners were friendly and helpful though. A nice view too but you really can't rely on just a view.

We arrived for check in at 2.20 and was told it was a 30 minute wait as our spa room was not ready. We were offered a free drink at the bar, which was nice but no real apology. After waiting 40 minutes we approached the desk to ask if our room was ready and was told it wasn't and they couldn't give us a time as they were busy. 6 other couples were experiencing the same thing. I asked again when I could get into our room as we had tickets at Qpac for a show starting at 5.30 and I needed to change. I was told to use the facilities on floor 3. Still no apology, just that they were busy. Eventually we got into our room at 4.40. We understand sometimes things happen but when there is no real empathy or concern, it gets frustrating. The room was nice with a big spa but the bed was lumpy, you could feel the springs. We had booked a romantic night and got 4 chocolate dipped strawberries, big deal! The in room breakfast was cold too & the fruit salad consisted of rockmelon & honey dew only. Upon checkout the same manager was still rude and did not even ask if we enjoyed our stay. The whole experience left us very disappointed and we will never return!

Absolute worst place I have stayed!!! Paid extra for the river side views and ended up with a 7am wake up to heavy demolition that they had failed to tell me about!! The a/c did not work in the room (temp reading 26 degrees)!! And on top of that it has been two weeks and I have still not received my $100 security deposit!!!! (Was told 7 days). Next time I will save myself the money and hassle and spend the night on the airport floor. Only giving two stars as the staff where nice.

Stayed for two nights for business. Service was good, room was nicely set out with a view.
TV only got a few channels, had to pay for any movies. WiFi is free for 3 hours then you have to pay for more. Food is good but coffee isn't too the greatest, recommend the Cafe next door.

There was a small problem with our room but the front desk were more than happy to help and changed our rooms without a problem! The room was spacious, clean and had a modern feel to it. The hot breakfast was exceptional and the cook was very obliging and friendly. The location is right near city centre and very close to public transport and walking distance to the local markets, museum, Goma gallery and probably much more! Overall the hotel had a very nice welcoming feel to it and came with a great price.
