Great location and views of the river and bridge, but earthworks was happening next to the river, that disturbed me in the night- poor sound insulation. Had an Executive Room. Spacious room, with Spa, but the hotel was a bit aged. No moisturiser in the room. In the morning, breakfast in Restaurant was a weird experience- a buffet, but no going back for seconds. All in all, would love to go back- after all the earthworks.
Terrible customer service. They ran out of car parks so we had to pay $30 across the road. Photos from Agoda did not match room at all. Smelt like wet cardboard. Not happy.
For the price we paid, the location was great, walking distance to botanical gardens and close to South Bank. Rooms perfectly adequate
The poor renovation, the lack of attention to the dirt left uncleaned from the past 50 (?) years. The bathroom vent was painted but not cleaned. Under the old scratched and daggy wardrobe was filthy!!!
The lamps were old and broken, terrible. The overall look was just a cheap reno.
The first room I had was so noisy from the air-con and the bathroom exhaust fan that I could not sleep!!
It took many requests and finally a threat to leave bad feedback online along with all the others that finally got someone doing something about getting me another room.
I was offered earplugs.....
The first room they showed me was as bad noise wise and worse than the one I had renovation wise.
The fellow who helped me did then get me a room that was good noise wise yet filthy under the cupboard and the bath vent!
The breakfast and the coffee were very ordinary. Ordinary service.
Staff on the front desk paid little or no attention to guests.
I planned to leave feedback on leaving the hotel but the form was no longer in my room, by the way a free bottle of water for feedback.... really!!!
I have told the girl at the office who does the bookings to steer clear of your site in the future.
Unreliable!!!!
If you leave sth at this hotel, you will never able to get it back !!
I left a baby cot ( large size) in my room, after calling hotel for many times they couldn t find it.!!!???!!! They found it after 3 weeks when I insisted to check the cctv and they found it. We left brisbane and move back to melbourne but they didn t accept the cost of postage!!!!!!!!!!
Very close to everything in the heart of Brisbane. Room was large, quiet and clean. Basic but adequate facilities. Don't expect pay tv channels or sewing kits or selections of soaps and shampoos. Staff friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
Great hotel with big and comfortable rooms and very well located, very good value for money! Recommended!
Average little place, staff were nice. Even gave me an upgrade, to 2 kingsize beds for 1 man hahaha!
Very thankful for an early check in after a red eye flight. But $2 per bag to hold when check out seems so early. Maybe 10am is standard for Brisbane? Good room. Comfortable bed. Lots of construction in lobby but didn't affect us. Would stay again.
Clean and comfortable rooms. WiFi only Freeware for the 1st 24 hours.
Great location. But the building is pretty run down. Room is worn but clean. Window is cracked for my room. You need to pay for parking though. $25 per night. Very tight parking space within the building.
The room was nice but very basic no balcony so a little bit overpriced
Rooms were very clean and lovely to stay in. Will be staying again.
Room was basic but comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful
It was affordable and close to the shops, transportation. Front staff were friendly and polite. But our next door neighbor were noisy and arguing middle of the night in the foyer and I was in level 10 so I had to get out of the room and ask them to go to their room and turn the noise level down instead they knocked onto my door and kept me awake.
Service is excellent, those people whose were working during Christmas.
are very good, do their best they for keeping good service. But equipments inside the building are all very old.
One of lifter was out of work, during Christmas
For the price I can't complain and the location is excellent. The view from level 14 over the river is mint.
Close to south bank and markets.apartments are very clean.
Comfortable budget hotel. Great location and great views.
The hotel is old, but the price is not too expensive. Its restaurant has only two breakfasts. It is closed after breakfast. The breakfast is very large and delicious. The hotel is in the city center. It is convenient to go shopping, dining and travelling.
Big room. A bit outdated. Room facing street with construction noise from early morning til late afternoon/evening.
Clean hotel worthwhile for the price so long as you can do without done of the small luxuries of a more modern hotel.
Rated 5 stars because of the central location and cost. We have stayed numerous times and have found the staff friendly and helpful.
Old and very slow elevator,
just given one home like key (not a security key or card), no secure elevator either, anyone could get in,
Old and mouldy furniture,
2 of the lamps in the room didn't work,
Provided just 1 small tube of hand wash etc for a family room,
Wifi is limited to 3 hrs and was so slow that it could not even load a page so ended up using mobile Internet,
Lots of dirty spots all over the wall,
Untidy cables hanging under the TV and was very unsafe for kids,
Small rooms and very tiny bathroom with no bath tub,
No sound proofing, woke up few times by the loud noise of Cars and motorbikes,
Useless Swimming pool and Gym,
overpriced for what we get in return,
nowhere close to the self claimed 4 star hotel,
Nothing good about this hotel except the location. We walked to everywhere and didn't have to take the car out from the hotel secure parking.
Stayed here on my birthday , upgraded my room for free . The room was amazing couldn t recommend this place more , value for money 10/10. The staff are the best part of the hotel , very friendly and professional . Thanks very much will 100 percent be staying again .
Nice place. Restaurant at the bottom is well priced and tasty too. It's adjacent to a lot of nice restaurants and beer gardens. Ideal for those travelling on a budget.
Absolutely awful whoever decided this hotel should have 4 stars should really come and reevaluate this place as it is far from a 4 star hotel. It would be lucky to be 2 star. Hotel corridors and rooms smell heavily of mould. Where do I start with the room:
Mattress - a sack of potatoes would be more fitting, lumpy and thin with 0 support.
Bed - Broken and on 45 degree angle
Bathroom - Filthy, lights coated in dust generally dirty
Furniture - Looks like something out of the 70's
Carpet stained and smelly
Checked in and out within 10 minutes and received no attempt at apology or rectification by reception. Would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs!!
I've stayed in 12 bed hostel dorms that were nicer.
Pictures are deceiving!
Woke up at 6am because of the construction site right next to the hotel. So distasteful to hear continuous jackhammers.. The hostel was fine.
A great place to stay very clean, modern and well appointed.
Disaster stay. Old building and musky smell. Found bottle opened and half empty in mini bar. Noisy elevator next to our room kept us awake most of the night, when it was being used. Car park designed for small cars, difficult to manoeuvre around. Internet free for first 3 hours then at a cost, also very slow and drops out. Ice cost $5 per order, plus $7 to deliver to our room. Already paid by card on check in, but front desk wanted my card on check out so they could charge me 2% extra for paying room by card. I would rather sleep in a tent than come here again.
I couldn't control the temperature in my room, the fridge was icy, hasn't been defrosted properly, missed the free Wi-Fi..
Close to everything that you should be more informed about.
We had taken two rooms. One was a family room and another a double room. The family room was really dated but the double room was renovated. Fortunately we were offered rooms on the 12th floor which had amazing views. An extra star for the view .
Central hotel with nice staff and clean rooms.
Many sights can be reached on foot in a few minutes.
Rooms clean and staff pleasant although bathroom was very small.
Not a fan of casinos - but did like the beautiful heritage building this one is housed in. However as a casino it has all the normal attractions and services you would expect as you spend hours transferring your money to the casino.
The shower spurted everywhere, was so hard to use! Something to do with mould reduction they told us the air vent which was constantly on in the bathroom and the whole room despite being winter and as well as the blanket not a doona had sinus and issues sleeping hence. They used covid19 as an excuse for that room was unserviced *but the worst part was supposed to be a queen sized bed but instead it was a king sized bed with two king sized single beds put together and so uncomfortable! Got told off when inside room talking by people who dobbed as apparently too loud as paper thin walls as the next door neighbours heard what was said?!Heard guests outside not long after being very loud, same as the air vent too! The silly policy on checking was wrong too as I explained my Victorian photo identification I got way before the virus hit and waiting on Queensland ID hence. Signed the form which an excuse to try to rip off re the reported argument when I don't and haven't broken the law so threatening eviction after so many warnings for this is just wrong! Try the Adina hotel down the road and would rate no stars if applicable.Wifi here is not good either it kept cutting in and out all the time. So disappointing! On all counts.
Good for the price. Nothing fancy but good for short trips
located in CBD, very close to city botanic garden, queen street mall, casino
King spa room with a view.... Much smaller than our previous spa room which did not have a view. First room we were in was dirty and seemed like an old motel room... Second room was better although the bed really was terrible, half of the bed was higher than the other half. We have stayed here many times but probably won't return. Also have been waiting for money to be returned to my partner's account
Decent value hotel, staff were not the most welcoming though
It may be temporary due to this virus but the city has relocated all the homeless people into the hotel. Druggies and Gerald everywhere it felt very unsafe. They are basically wrecking the place, graffiti on the elevators, heard one person tell desk staff it's raining in his room from a water leak and had been for days. Our room was ok, but only two teabags then no teaspoons so had to use my toothbrush to stir it. Great cheap rate but parking is $25 additional. Felt good to get out of there.
Great location, 100m walk to casino, hotel and room comfy but dated. Parking cost extra $25. Overall good value for a short stay
Poor service, rude staff at the desk. No soap or shampoo in the room.
It was a nice place to stay. Pleasant, friendly staff.
Room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable, awesome shower pressure and hot water.
Splendid hotel clean rooms, great services and veiws
Mold in bathrooms. They wanted to charge an extra $20 per hour to set bags inside when there were rooms ready. Bizarre, and you get what you pay for. Comfy beds and we only stayed two nights. Fine, but don't expect nice and new!
Horrible hotel, uncomfortable place to stay, beds are poor, worst night sleep I ve had in any hotel, what a joke, I would not recommend this place, stay clear of this one.
Bad experience! Extremely unfriendly for pick up and temporary parking. Furniture is old inside and strong noise for air conditioner.
Amazing place,on arrival we had to wait awhile for our room,so the lovely guy at reception helped us out and enjoyed our stay over looking Southbank.
2 guys got a pants down in pool. After the geelong l vs brisbane game. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Best game of pool I have seen. And they were so entertaining aswell. The band even got in in the act! Great fun and a great night!!!
It s really nice a place to stay. So clean and the staffs are very helpful
Room was comfortable with a good view of the river. The bed was nice and firm, and service was efficient.
We stayed in Brisbane for the night to go to Moroton Island. We loved our stay. Such a good price for such good value. They were so hospitable and welcoming. Close to everything. Spacious and nice view of the city. If you want a hotel at a good price go with this one. Thanks staff!
Hotel room is dated and dirty, needs a good renovation. The worst part is the construction and jack hammers across the road that started at 6.30am. Don't book if your after a sleep in!
Visited for breakfast. The big breakfast is great value for money.
The room is old. Small bath room. During our stay, renovations are on prgress at the lobby. So you will heard all the noisy stuff. They didn't even mention the check out time to me so beware! The check out time at this hotel is 10:00am and they will charge you 10 bucks per hour for late check out. And the worst part is, they call your room at 10:45! I think that was a set up.
Great value for money and excellent staff and location.
Great staff, rooms are basic and dont loom at the paint jobs. The excersise room is a weight machine, treadmill and bike but weight machine and treadmill out of order. Easy to access hotel though and great location
Good located for walks in the city an on the river. Clean!
Good prices, convenient, interior could do an uplift. Seems neighbors can hear the TV on even when low volume, and someone could turn off my TV remotely.
Good location but room was old and very dirty..Found a used condom /dust and paper behind the old bedside table which made us feel sick! Old broken furnishings, $25 parking, noisy construction next door and under renovations with lifts and hall flooring..dont stay in room 1207!! Won't return..
Good service just a quick refresher did not stay overnight
Place is under renovation, hence the lobby is quite unsightly, rooms are nice with good view of the river, Wifi is NOT free
Stayed there with my partner, the spa was amazing, was clean and lovely receptionists. Will definitely come back
Cheap ... no free internet , old decor, but large room with the necessities
Affordable. Located close to the main mall. Comfortable. Will stay again in the future.
Good for the price. Bed was clean and comfortable. Close to restaurants.
Great location. Very affordable. Not 5 star but all you need. Spacious room with 4 single beds.
Room size is good, but furniture is too old, the bathtub were dirty, one of the towels weren't clean. However, the staff is very friendly.
Affordable accommodation, however not well insulated and rooms are loud. The hotel is old and run down, but if you are just after a place to crash for the night this place will suffice.
Room was good for our purposes, staff were professional, good location close to everything we needed.
Good location, mediocre room, friendly and helpful staff.
Location was very convenient for meetings I needed to attend nearby. It was one of the cheaper accommodation options in the area, and provided good value for money. Of course you usually get what you pay for.
My room was spacious, tidy and clean (a relief after reading some earlier reviews). The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The restaurant provided a good range and quality of food in a timely manner.
The buffet breakfast however was a little limited and had poor quality coffee. I ended up buying specific items from the menu with proper coffee which was actually cheaper than buffet option.
Overall a good experience and I would be happy to return.
Great service and a comfortable night. Great place for an overnight stay.
