I've seen a couple performances here, both were excellent. The theater itself is great. Not a bad seat in the house, even in the back row.

Tip: check out todaytix, I've won lotteries to shows here for significantly reduced prices.

The Mark Taper Forum mostly host plays. They generally put on new shows every 6-8 weeks of either new works from popular playwrights or revive an old piece that was very popular. A great way to get affordable ticket for the Mark Taper is through sites like Gold Star or take a chance with their rush tickets by showing up 2 hours prior to show time and paying $20 in cash for whatever seat is available. Based on how the theater is shaped there is no bad seat in the house.

Like the intimacy provided. Have enjoyed many plays in this theatre. More experimental than the other Music Center theatres. Went by Metro and avoided jammed freeways and frustrating parking.

Via the Center theater a few years back I bought tickets to a couple of shows the customer service promises in Ada assistance was horrible the people working in the box office and inside the theater where the nicest way to say it unkind it did not return for an entire year season because of the special pricing this year even though I was off to a rough start through sales I managed to have a good experience with finally having the proper attention to needs when I attended I have purchased tickets for 8 shows this season between the taper the Ahmanson and the Douglas one good experience down 7 more to go hopefully the Stars will improve I look forward to that happening

A bit funky and a mish mash of eras in the decor, but the Taper offers a great venue for live theater in LA. The "worst" seat in the house is still a decent seat. But tix early and you can see a show for less than $30. Come on! The seats are reasonably comfortable. The bathrooms are old but functioning. Concessions are minimal but they will give you a sippy cup so you can take your wine, beer, cocktail, or other drink into the theater which is always great.

Went to see the wonderful production of "What the Constitution Means to Me" last night. A simply staged, fun and poignant retelling of personal history in the context of key components of the Constitution and its key amendments, mainly the 1st, 9th and 14th. Lots of Supreme Court history and backstory on Justices and rulings. A great evening, ended with a debate and audience participation. I love the Taper as there are no "bad" seats.
It was cold last night so for grabbing a bite before the event at the multiple, good food choices, there are few indoor choices and too few heaters outdoors. So bring a warm jacket. Traffic heading North, even during work time wasn't as bad as I feared. Southbound looked to be a nightmare.

An intimate theatre for dramatic plays. Every seat is a good seat. I'm not a fan of musicals, which usually play next door at the Ahmanson, so the Taper is perfect. The quality of the performances is great.

The venue is lovely but for the last year the plays are getting darker and darker. Everyone is about a dysfunctional family or group of people and someone usually dies. Years ago they had some funny ones and historical ones mixed in, but not so any more. We will not be renewing our subscription next year.

Great acting, good scripts, and powerful theater. The staff have always been friendly and efficient. This is a prime place for watching contemporary theater. The ushers are efficient and understand their customers. I only wish they didn't always let in latecomers. It can get distracting for both the seated audience and performers. I have seen over 10 shows at the Mark Taper Forum and each one has had terrific merit. Good work! Well done! Bravo!

It is always a life enriching experience to see a show at the Taper. Staff are helpful and friendly. Shows are meaningfully selected with the larger Los Angeles community in mind, and are usually stories that speak to a global community. Productions are skillfully put together, with innovative sets, passionate directors, and performers who have worked hard to add skill to talent. Seats are comfortable and only the seats at the side edges of the room can be considered any less than great. I highly recommend the Mark Taper Forum!

Saw Lackawanna Blues!! Last night excellent show. I couldn't wait for it to be over...the seats are extremely close my knees were literally touching the seat in front on me. I'm not sure how anyone over 5 feet tall can sit comfortably. Be nice if that issue could be corrected. I won't be back. Too much money to be uncomfortable.

Head of Passes was incredible! I thought Ms. Rashad's performance was moving and thought provoking, she carried the final act alone and brought some of the audience to tears. Well worth going to see!
