Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach Reviews

My family and I stayed at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes during Spring break and had a wonderful experience. I rarely take time out to write reviews but the overall service was so pleasing that I want others to witness the experience as well. Our room and bathroom were clean with a modern design, the staff was very kind, helpful and inviting, the jet ski rental was exciting then watching the boats sail pass while sitting on our patio was therapeutic... I truly appreciated the intimate setting during check-in; there was just an employee, table and myself on the opposite side, not the counter top setup that most hotels have. The employees spoke very pleasant and always greeted with a smile. After driving 5 hours and attempting to initially check-in at the Anderson Ocean Club And Spa (Myrtle Beach) before CANCELING our reservation due to being overcharged and treated very rudely by staff members and management the Marina was just amazing experience the entire weekend! The only drawback was the transaction on my cc from room service and the fact that it was extremely difficult contacting someone to clear up the mishap. However, the Food & Beverage Manager assured me that he would rectify this situation by Monday. Overall, I would most definitely stay here again and again! Highly recommended!

Great place! The hall smelled really bad, but it's wasn't in the rooms. Great view, comfortable bed, great shower.

This hotel is not clean, We went and upon getting prepared to go to sleep, We noticed our pillows were filthy. We reported it, and the house keeper was apologetic and replaced them, she even picked up a dead roach off the floor that wasn't cleaned. However, the front desk offered nothing. Then we realized we kept getting bites on us every night. At first, I thought bed bugs, but then I saw people with pets on the grounds and in the elevator with us, even though it's not a pet friendly hotel to my understanding, so it probably was fleas biting us. whatever it was biting us, they were left on the bed linens that were not changed! At the price point of this hotel, this is unacceptable and I strongly suggest staying somewhere else. If they had offered us a change of room at the least, it would have helped, but again nothing was offered.

Forgot to put towels in room. No key. Mystery stains on carpet and furniture. This was the first room they gave us. The second room was worse....

Need better bathroom lighting. Both sides of bed needs charging stations, not just one side. Ceiling is in need of paint. Other than those ascetics, not a bad place to stay. Nice balcony, parking, clean. Nice staff.

Was there for a professional breakfast. Food served was traditional hot breakfast food you'd find at a hotel except better. The Inn itself was beautiful! Plenty of parking too.

Went here on business for a convention. The hotel and staff was very friendly and accommodating with everything. Rooms were cleaned. Location was good. Everything was within 5 miles.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Received a free room upgrade when I checked in, which was great. The bed was comfortable, but the sides of the mattress were worn from too much sitting on the edge, to the point of being sunk in a little. The room was very clean, smelled great, and was adequately designed. The shower has two shower heads on one pole within 2 inches of each other, neither of which are positionable in an easy fashion, making for a weird shower. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms and service were thoughtful, complete, and utterly charming. Multiple areas for relaxation and cueing guests to "go green" got my attention. Conveniently located about ten to fifteen minutes from all Myrtle Beach's downtown attractions, I've certainly enjoyed my stay.

The view from our balcony was awesome, golf course is beautiful and staff was friendly when we went!! To say the rooms are clean and comfortable is an understatement, everything was amazingly kept. The staff at the front go above and beyond, extremely friendly and welcoming. The private beach... absolutely my favorite part.

Very nice resort with a lot of amenities in and around the property. Family friendly and situated between Myrtle and North Myrtle. Easy access to the beach (Private Beach) and shuttle to and from. I personally prefer to drive as it was 2-3 miles from the beach.

My family is at this location now. Beautiful property. The private beach experience is awesome as well. However each day upon return to our room we seemed to be passed over for cleaning or on two days the rooms we barely touched by the housekeeping staff. I expect way more service than this and am very disappointed that we are now waiting an hour in the lobby while they finally clean our room. Beautiful location poor service at least to our family.

The staff was exceptional and the service was great. The location for not being on the ocean front in our point of view is a minus and the fact that there are no shuttle service to and from the airport is also a minus. Otherwise a good place to be will all the required amenities for a great vacation. Valet and reception staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great service , clean , pool wasn't crowded at all and they have two hot tubs very comfortable experience

Visited during the off season. Excellent stay! Very affordable. Paid less than half of standard prices. Recieved all full amenities. Beautiful hotel. I plan to travel more often there during the off season

What an excellent resort with good service! It's not on the beach but the amenities on site like the indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis and sauna are great. There is tennis nearby and a shuttle to take you to the beach. The accomodations in the Harborview Tower are top notch. We stayed in a two bedroom suite which is great for a girls weekend or a small family as it has a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, living room, and multiple balconies. The location is also excellent to hold an event with multiple meeting room accomodations and restaurants on site with Ruth Chris next door. We will definitely return.

Wonderful,I loved! We had a perfect view, rooms very clean everything was coordinated on place! Indoor pool and outdoors was great perfect to relax! Hotel is on perfect location close to outlets, grocery stores etc. Staff was great,Their private beach was my favorite thing, definitely coming back and recommended!.

My husband surprised me w/a get-a-way weekend for our 3rd anniversary & my 40th birthday (1 day apart). Our ritual has been been since dating that we've come to the beach each year, but each year we've had to find a different place to stay. I think we've found our yearly return. The valet was on point from the time we pulled up until the check out staff on the departure day. I totally recommend Marina Inn to anyone, especially couples...we had so much fun - rekindling our affection towards one another. The atmosphere was SAFE, CLEAN and QUIET...Definitely coming back March 2018. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work to make our stay pleasurable & memorable.

I have stayed at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes multiple times and each time is more amazing than the last. The service is incredible! The staff are very friendly and helpful beyond measure. The hotel accommodations are modern and make you feel right at home. Not to mention there is so much entertainment within short distance of this location. I encourage all of my fellow pageant sisters when making appearances in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to ensure that you reside at the one and only Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. I cannot wait to come back to Myrtle Beach and I know exactly where I will be staying.

Front desk staff was not the friendliest except the young man with the long hair. That young man had great customer service.

We stayed here for four nights over Easter week. Our room was unquestionably very nice. Clean, well stocked, roomy and well appointed. The furniture on the two porches was standard K-Mart quality (not self proclaimed 5 Star Resort Quality). The lobby and common areas definitely are looking a bit tired and not what you'd expect to see at a high level resort- Maybe something more that you'd expect at an older Marriott in need of an upgrade.
The pool area is clean and well maintained. Many families were enjoying it and appeared to be having a great time. Only issue with the pool area is that 3 of the 4 nights there were loud drunken crowds out there having a fraternity party it sounded like. Each night we called, and each night it was addressed but I think they ought to be a little more proactive and maybe do something about it before guests have to get up at 3am and call. Just a suggestion....

This hotel is great. We stayed here two nights with a work event and the staff was all very nice. The rooms are huge and are very comfortable. Feels more like a home than a hotel room. Great views of the intercoastal waterway.

Wow! This place is awesome. I feel spoiled. If you pay for satisfaction, you'll be completely happy staying at this place!

Great accomodations and the meeting area was nice. My only complaint is that I was charged $100 to my credit card when I checked in. When I checked out the amount was returned. In talking to others I found some charged anywhere from $25-300. It seems an unusual policy that I've never encountered before. It is something customers should be made aware of before check in.

The only reason this review isn t 5 stars is the beds. If you are under the age of 60, 5 stars. If you are traveling with a senior adult, who is not as mobile as they used to be, the beds will be a problem. Even in the handicapped rooms the beds are, much, much too high. They are very comfortable, but it s kind of ridiculous how high they are. Thankfully we upgraded to a suite and my 84 yo Mom was able to sleep on the couch. This ruined what would have otherwise been a great spot for vacation. When I inquired, management had nothing to offer but a shrug and a sorry.

Loved this place. Room was very comfortable. Food was outstanding. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Beautiful paintings throughout the hotel. Will definitely come back!!!!

The Marina Inn was fabulous and gorgeous! The staff was informative and always available to help. It was clean and very well kept. Will definitely go there again.

Check in staff was very friendly, as well as bar staff. No valet or help with bags due to Covid measures, but they can't help that.
Our first room had an odd odor that seemed to get worse after about an hour?? When we reported it, we were immediately moved to another (upgraded) room. It was clean , the view was relaxing, and we enjoyed our short stay!

Best location in Myrtle Beach. Marina is beautiful!

Construction was going on which made it very noisy. Would of been nice to be notified before booking room. Microwave had wrong turntable inside, making it bang around when using. Small fridge was broken, ottoman was stained and dirty looking and TV remote wouldn't work on arrival, they sent someone promptly to look at it and he fixed it only for it not to work when we got up the next morning.

The room is beautiful and comfortable. Only downside is you have to drive to the beach or be shuttled there.

Great hotel, great staff. Location is not on the beach so that's the only thing against it. Other than that awesome experience.

When I arrived with my family, can you believe the two bellmen and what I came to know as one of the owner, completely ignored us? Not even looking us in the face. I proceeded to take out all of our luggage and parked my own car. Once I arrived back at the entrance, I saw the bellmen assisting other white patrons while my mother stood with our bags. This type of direct in your face discrimination, towards paying customers is not okay. My family and I will never come back to support this business since they so clearly don't appreciate us as paying customers. I reported this to the service clerk only have nothing done about the issue. Only to have one of the bellmen to walk in assisting yet another set of white patrons. If Marina Inn can't treat people of color with dignity and respect then maybe they shouldn't take our money.

Stayed here for our honeymoon. Can't say enough good things about the hotel or the staff!

It has the an amazing veiw of the dock! Beds was awesome to sleep in. Rooms are were well decorated and spacy. They have walk in shower and a separate bathtub. Every employee was extremely nice and helpful. They do have a restaurant that serves delicious food. Five stars all around.

The most perfect tuna nicoise I've ever had. Freshest veggies with precisely cooked tuna. I will return for this when I'm back in Myrtle Beach!

For the most part out experience was great. If I could rate the hotel itself I'd give it 5 stars - while I'd give the staff about 3.5 stars. The Good - the hotel was amazing. The grounds/landscape was kept and outside pool area was amazing. There were beautiful Christmas decorations in the lobby area. We stayed in a 2 King bedroom suite with a fireplace & full kitchen that felt like home away from home. My family was wowed & had an excellent time.
The Bad - even though staff were nice & somewhat approachable, I was lied to twice concerning the private beach amenity. I was told the private beach was closed, when it stays open year round. Even though it was during Christmas temperatures had risen to 70 degrees which is warm enough for a walk on the beach - however we couldn't enjoy it beacuse we were told it was closed. I don't mind spending a little money now & then but I want exactly what I paid for & anything less is unacceptable. Secondly, room service was very expensive but not worth the money. The food was delivered cold and our food attendant forgot to bring danishes/pastries and muffins I orderd but was still charged for. The food didn't meet my expectations - it was average at best. Lastly, housekeeping was poor. Out of the 4 days we stayed, I may have seen her maybe once. She vacuumed one room only one time & that's only because we requested her to.

Even though I had a negative experience with the staff - they weren't rude. I would definitely recommend the hotel to family & friends - it was also one of the best hotels in Myrtle Beach and close to everything we wanted to visit.

Beautiful hotel experience with very nice amenities. Unfortunately my shower left a big mess each time on the bathroom floor. That was my only issue. Staff was pleasant.
