Nice hotel with lots of amenities. The hotel received only 2 Stars due to the cleanliness of the room. My room had a strong scent of mildew when I entered the room. The floors had not been vacuumed and was obvious that the room was not fully cleaned. There was a used wash rag still hanging over the shower. This hotel is very expensive and there are several other better options near by.

BEAUTIFUL hotel! I celebrated my birthday here March 24-25. The staff went above and beyond to make it special (Specifically Mike at the front desk) The location is excellent with the little village and the bay right outside. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel.

I travel for a living and stay at all sorts of hotels. This Hyatt is an excellent property, well located near the oceanside activities, restaurants, venues. Breakfast buffet is very good. Staff is polite and helpful. Ultimately, it's a very good hotel situated in a location walkable to the carrier Midway, tall sailing ships - including the HMS Surprise of the "Master and Commander" movie fame, baseball park, convention center, and Amtrak station.

Had an amazing view of the marina/harbor from our room. Room was very clean and modern. Location was great. Within walking distance of the convention center, Petco Park, the marina/Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, and Little Italy. Short driving distance to San Diego Zoo and Sports Arena. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect service from everyone on the staff. The view from our room 2030 was quintessential San Diego with the pool, North Bay, 4 active USN ships including 2 carriers and the USS Midway. The pool area is spacious, 2 hot tuna and a recreation area with corn hole, ping pong, foosball and some life sized kids games including connect 4. The surrounding Seaport Village has great food/drink/shopping and entertainment.

We had a nice view of the Midway. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. My main problem was the luke-warm shower. We had to run the cold water in the sink to keep the shower warm. When the neighbors flushed their toilet we'd get absolutely scalded. The "top of the Hyatt" bar was soooo overpriced and the waiter was absolutely confounded by the fact that we had to split the check and pretty rude about it. Oh, parking is $40 a night too!

Close to gas lamp district with an excellent view. rooms were failed nice. The bathroom has a sliding door with is nice but there's no lock and it makes noise Everytime you want to go to the bathroom. Comes with a small kuereg in room with a few cups. Tech could be a little more up to date

I stayed here a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. My wife and I visit a resort for our anniversary every year, and the Grand Hyatt SD is by far the best experience we've had so far; they set up a nice surprise for me and my wife in our room, front desk agent was excellent, Miguel and Nayeli at the club were wonderful. We ran into the GM Daniel in the elevator and it was evident why this resort and its employees are great. We will definitely come back.

Exactly what you want from your hotel: Clean, efficient, quiet, comfy bed, good views, and helpful staff. Jazmine at the front desk treated us warmly when we arrived, and although it was our first time at this Hyatt she made us feel like regulars. The Hyatt is practically on the water, has a couple bars on site, is a walk away from great restaurants, and has a rooftop bar that you must visit. Self parking is easy and affordable (for San Diego). If you're torn on where to stay near the Gaslamp district, then choose the Grand Hyatt because you will be extremely satisfied with your experience.

I stayed at the hotel for a week for a conference held in their conference rooms. While I had great customer service throughout the hotel, the hotel itself had many downsides.

The ladies restroom closer to the lobby was always filthy and smelled. The same for the ladies restroom I the conference hall. You would think they would clean it multiple times a day seeing how two large conferences were being held at the same time.

The building it s is old. Rotting baseboards throughout and dirty carpet. The ice machine was also broken and leaking all over the floor.

The room itself was spacious and decent, I had a great view of the bay from my window. They also offer a ton of free amenities like cork screw openers, complimentary umbrellas and phone chargers.

I probably wouldn t stay here again for the price. Overall it s a okay hotel.

Worst hotel ever! It's next to train tracks that will keep you awake all night. When we talked to the hotel staff and managers about this they were very rude. I would not stay here again and would not let anyone else. Stay at a better place for less.

Front desk was super friendly when I checked-in as a Discoverist. They upgrade me to a higher floor room with a nice view. Bed was comfortable. They delivered a harder pillow as per request. Their in-room TV is super modern and I could Chromecast my videos to the large screen HDTV. The only thing lacking is the room delivery option which was very limited. I wish they can improved on this one next time I visit.

Rooms were nice. Construction made outside check in a bit messy. We asked for regular coffee pods since we only got decaf. They told us that they would send them, but they didn't. Later the staff noted that they were out of regular coffee pods. Otherwise, hotel location is great. We walked to a variety of venues. San Diego is great

Beautiful hotel, located near the marina and downtown San Diego, with a lot of restaurants and things to do. Unfortunately, the convention catering food has declined over the past two years. If you're going to be locked up in sessions for 3 days, at least the food can be decent.

We got the upgraded room so we could see the ocean. We didn t need to rent a car during my husband s business trip because everything was within walking distance. The Starbucks in the hotel was super expensive but there is another one a block away that was regularly priced. I won t give it a 5 star because the room is what I call a cookie cutter room like 90% of hotels you go to. I prefer bed and breakfasts or a room that feels less like a shoebox with the same exact setup.

The location was great and proximity to the bay was great. The hotel lobby, hotel grounds and pool area were great. The rooms were not! They are in need of a major remodel! The box spring had a noticeable rip and so did the window curtain. The bathroom was very basic and had a shower/tub combo with an old style shower curtain. You just don't see this in hotels anymore, especially expensive ones. The carpet did not look dirty but our feet looked dirty after walking on it. The sheets felt like plastic, and the down comforter (that they sandwich between two sheets to look like a cover) was older and dingy. I had a great time on the trip and really enjoyed the location but will not stay at this hotel again until they remodel the rooms.

Rooms and facilities (pool, gym, etc) were really nice. However, room wasn't well cleaned, the bed was hard and wildly uncomfortable - and the pillows were atrocious! Especially for the price of this place! Bring your own pillow and some ibuprofen. I had back and neck pain every morning.

Had a good experience.Room was clean. Bed was reasonably comfy. Service was good. Restaurants, coffee and snack bars were open at appropriate times. Views were great. Location was close to gas lamp district, restaurants, shopping. Didnt have to travel far to get a meal. Stayed for a week for a conference. wifi was strong. Was it a five diamond?? No. They dont have turn down service and the like. But it was more than sufficient and comfortable staff was efficient, pleasant, and friendly. Spa was great, pool was clean. The gym was phenomenal! Lots of equipment. Cycles spin and recumbant, mutiple ellipticals, treadmills, free weights, machine weights. I had a good experience

Very glad we only had to stay in this hotel for one night. Upon check in, we were greeted by unfortunate news that the room we had booked wasn t ready and it might take some time (undisclosed amount) for it to be prepared. They offered us the two queen size beds instead and we accepted. However, once in the room, the beds were nowhere near queen size and the room was rather small. In addition, the water temperature went in and out alternating from freezing cold to burning hot which made taking showers super uncomfortable. There was no room service menu and we called to request one. After 30 minutes, we still hadn t gotten a copy, I called again, and it took them another 20 minutes to finally get us a copy. For a 4-star hotel and the price we paid, we definitely expected better service and quality.
