Fantastic experience at this hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Found that the rooms and hallways seemed a bit dated, at least in the tower I was in... However - It wouldn't stop me from staying again. Location was excellent.

If you arrive walking, it is so free and wide the sidewalk with many huge doors, that just choosing one gives you the sensation of mysterious beauty of walking soft, gentle, safe, and elegant., You can choose a room to sit and not feel that Time passes. And if you stop outside looking around, the train tracks, the buildings, it's absolutely FASCINATING.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt was a very elegant and large hotel. The two towers stand tall on the SD Bayfront and are definitely hard to miss. When entering the hotel lobby, the first thing you notice is how big this place is. The front desk is definitely bustling with guests checking in and out. Check in is at 4pm, but I requested an early check in which they gladly met without an additional cost, but I'm not sure if this was because I'm rewards member.

I read on other reviews to request a room on the higher floors and when I received a room on the 10th floor, I asked if I could have one above the 15th floor. They said it was no issue and an hour later I was in my room on the 21st floor. My view faced the city and the bay on the east side of the building. It was truly spectacular and spent most of my time in the room staring outside the window. We had a quiet room with 2 queen beds, which seemed much smaller than a queen. The room itself was nothing too exciting, but the view made it all much better.

It's a great place to stay and all the employees are really nice. Super fancy and good location to go walk around if you don't want to drive to have a night out on the town. Great room service. And they gave us a free upgrade to a nicer room. Definitely will stay here again.

It's a very nice hotel without feeling terribly pretentious. There are areas that will give you the indication that it's not a new hotel (broken drain plug in tub), but overall it feels like a really nice place. Staff its very friendly and helpful.

Whole experience was pretty decent. Staff was amazing, and room service was amazing. However I was not satisfied with the room, the room was dated, and it looked like a old hotel which has not been updated for a long time. Lobby was amazing, adult pool was pretty dope as well, rent a bike or rent a bird scooter to explore the city which they have it on a lobby. It's worth it. Only five minutes walk to barrio Logan, gaslamp quarters, and little Italy

Great views and location. Walk to Petco along harbor & Gas lamp. Fireworks display was a bonus and we could open our window on the 22nd floor to hear the city noises and boom boom boom of the fireworks. Just spectacular. Buffet was ok, but dining room was chilly.

Overall not worth the money , for several reasons:
Q
1) they charge a "resort fee" which is a predatory capitalist practice wherein they don't tell you until you're checking out but they charge 35 a night *in addition* to the room price. Evil.

2) the room was the quality of the much more affordable La Quinta or Comfort Inn but worse in that there were no complimentary amenities (water bottles are put in the room but will cost you $5 a pop if you drink them)

3) there are no fitted sheets on the beds, only a flat sheet tucked under. IDK what's up with that but it's weird and, being a restless sleeper, I kicked them up each night we stayed

4) the entire area is basically a mall, but everything is super overpriced ($36 for a 6 pack of beer in the market on the first floor)

Overall, this hotel is a cruddy rip-off. If you're going to drop several hundred a night, go somewhere that's worth several hundred a night, because this place is definitely not.

The customer service was excellent though (it's not the employees fault everything sucked).

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel and it's well worth it. Spectacular views and it's close to everything. Walking distance to Seaport Village, museums and the view of the bay with the navy ships is the best!

This is a gorgeous hotel with breath-taking view of the waterfront, Coronado, and the distant mountains. I highly recommend watching the sunset from their bar on the top floor, or on the pool deck. There is a family pool as well as an adults only pool/Cabana area. The restaurant is within walking distance of the train and the Midway Museum. I started at the hotel for a conference that I attended, and the conference facilities were very nice. The catering was healthy and tasty. There was a lovely outside patio that overlooked the water, and i enjoyed having my breakfast of fresh fruit and croissants out there each morning. My only complaint is that when I arrived I was told that my room was not available, even though I had booked it 6 Mon prior. They said I had 39 people in front of me so they couldn't tell me if or when I would be able to check in. I was then convinced that I should just pay an extra $20 per night to get "upgraded" to a higher floor. So I could either pay more or they would let me just sit around after almost 6 hrs of flying, wondering whether I would have a room or not. This rate hike was only mentioned after I said that I was there for a conference. I had booked my room online and had gotten a better deal than what the conference rate was. I was frustrated with the situation at that point, so I just gave them my personal credit card and figured I would work it out with my employer later. I figured a 5 star hotel would be better with their reservations than that. My mistake. Otherwise, the room was comfortable - a bit on the humid side - but modern, pretty and had a great view.

The hotel is really nice, rooms are comfortable and it's very well located. Although, sometimes you have to wait for the water to get hot to get a shower. View is amazing but you get a strange smell from the bay-. I stayed for a business convention. Food was OK but low natural options. The only thing that really disappointed me was how much their charge for receving packages. I have travel accros US and I thought it was overprice. We carefull with this, I send an email in order to give advise and they never replied to me with the prices. Check this information before you send anything.

Would get a 5 but they have changed their food service in the past year and it isn't good. Room service is breakfast and dinner only and its VERY limited selection -- more fast food. Only 2 restaurants. If that doesnt matter to you it is an excellent location, staff, and room.

We met some guests for drinks at the tower ball. The drinks were great, but although it seemed you should be served at the tables, we waited 10 min before giving up and going to the bar for drinks.

We really like the people who work at Manchester Grand Hyatt as well as the atmosphere there. There's even a whole old-school play area for kids. The prices are also decent... though the selection can be spotty.

Great Hotel. Awesome location right on the bay with incredible views of Coronado and Mexico. Fun to walk around early in the morning at the Saturday morning fish market and of course seaport village.
