This is a gorgeous hotel with breath-taking view of the waterfront, Coronado, and the distant mountains. I highly recommend watching the sunset from their bar on the top floor, or on the pool deck. There is a family pool as well as an adults only pool/Cabana area. The restaurant is within walking distance of the train and the Midway Museum. I started at the hotel for a conference that I attended, and the conference facilities were very nice. The catering was healthy and tasty. There was a lovely outside patio that overlooked the water, and i enjoyed having my breakfast of fresh fruit and croissants out there each morning. My only complaint is that when I arrived I was told that my room was not available, even though I had booked it 6 Mon prior. They said I had 39 people in front of me so they couldn't tell me if or when I would be able to check in. I was then convinced that I should just pay an extra $20 per night to get "upgraded" to a higher floor. So I could either pay more or they would let me just sit around after almost 6 hrs of flying, wondering whether I would have a room or not. This rate hike was only mentioned after I said that I was there for a conference. I had booked my room online and had gotten a better deal than what the conference rate was. I was frustrated with the situation at that point, so I just gave them my personal credit card and figured I would work it out with my employer later. I figured a 5 star hotel would be better with their reservations than that. My mistake. Otherwise, the room was comfortable - a bit on the humid side - but modern, pretty and had a great view.
