The hotel is grand! You walk in the front entry and it's amazing just how grand it is. The service at the desk is excellent. The rooms are what you would expect but I have been disappointed by the poor quality of the cleaning, especially in the bathroom.

Beautiful hotel, terrible service. We booked our room in MAY for an August trip and when we checked in they told us our room with two beds would be ready at 4. Sent us our early check in (after an unknowledgable rude front desk attendant told us we couldn't do it even though someone else told us we could) and then when we got there they said it didn't matter, there was a convention and i. They could only give us one bed room. Again, we booked this 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, online with them, with the guaranteed room we paid for. Would not recommend if you want to get what you pay for. Way to go Hyatt.

Absolutely beautiful, very comfortable, staff were awesome from the front desk to housekeeping to the parking staff. Set in an amazing place on Harbor Blvd. with Seaport Village right out the back door. This is the place to stay for your next trip to San Diego.

Located on the water between Petco park and the Midway museum the Manchester Grand Hyatt is close to anything and everything you need in downtown San Diego. Close to the airport and the Gaslamp district, you can get a full San Diego experience. The hotel is beautiful and the stadf went above and beyond to make sure our visit was smooth and pleasent.

It's a high end hotel. Great location for walking to the Gaslamp district, Petco stadium, Seaport village, and convention center. Several bars and restaurants are inside. There's also a restaurant with outdoor seating facing the harbor. Plenty of parking. Service is good. Staff is friendly.

I recently visited Manchester Grand Hyatt for a business trip. I was blown away by the level of service, professionalism, cleanliness, and attentive staff. Each staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make my stay exceptional. I will be staying here any time I'm in San Diego!

Very, very nice place, very hospitable, we got there about 9-10 am, and were allowed to check in. We napped all morning, because we left before the crack of dawn. The hotel is located next to Seaport Village, which will undergo a $2 billion remodeling. Not sure what we'll find on our next visit to San Diego.

Not a kid friendly hotel. I do not recommend this hotel for families. The hotel restricts access to certain areas if you have children. For example, there is a top floor with a beautiful lounge and view, I was sitting there with my 2 well behaved children (9 and 10 years old) at 5:30 pm and was asked to leave because children were not allowed in this beautiful area of the hotel. I understand policies that do not allow children to sit at the bar area, but this was not the bar area. It was a lounge with a beautiful view of the bay of San Diego. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager never came. I was denied service, literally 5 waiters passed by my table but would not take my order because I had children. I have never felt so discriminated. I have traveled to many other Hyatts with similar lounge areas (Shanghai Grand Hyatt - Cloud 9 Lounge on the 100 floor) and my children have always been allowed in these lounges. It is the precise reason I like staying at these luxury family style hotels because parents are able to get a place that is stylish but at the same time be with your family. I was extremely disappointed that San Diego being such a kid friendly city had a not kid friendly Grand Hyatt hotel.

In summer 2015, I have stayed in this big beautiful hotel, it is large, it has everything and it is next to the city. In my opinion it serves the best breakfast in California or maybe in the US, everywhere you go the breakfast is bad but here it is okay.

Had a wonderful view of the bay from our room. The hotel, its staff, their restaurants were all top notch. We were enjoying our stay so much that we extended it one more night! Will definitely be back!

Staff is horrible, sink clogged, elevators dirty and amazingly slow. Staff set alarm for 3:30AM and woke my whole family up. Housekeeping didn't clean the room well. It's better to go stay at a Motel 6 down the road.

This time when we visited San Diego we decided to stay there, and I sadly have to report that the hotel is not Hyatt quality Hotel. no room cleaning if the stay is less than 5 nights, so you have to call to get towels, garbage bags, soap the sheets aren t large enough. The TV was not working etc.
I would never consider staying here again no matter how inexpensive it became!

I was in town for a convention for 3 days and then stayed an additional two days over the weekend with my wife to enjoy a mini vacation. Great Staff, Great Room, the adjoining rooms can get noisy if you have people partying next door, we had called the front desk to have someone address the noise so we could sleep since it was 4am.

The lobby truly is "Grand". I am here for a conference, and the facilities are large, easily navigable, and comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean and we'll decorated. The restaurant has excellent food and beer selection.

It was my boyfriends birthday and we decided to go...

It was my boyfriends birthday and we decided to go to San Diego to celebrate. After deciding we didn't want to go to the beach, but still wanted to swim we checked out Resort Pass for day pass deals. Hyatt had an amazing offer for 150 for a cabana at their luxurious facility. Upon checking in on July 23rd around 3pm we had amazing front desk service service. They offered us water and gave us directions. We first attempted to get a cabana at the adult only pool as we wanted to avoid children so we could relax. We got to the pool and couldn't find anyone to give us information. We turned to the bartender as a last resort. He was being very short with the lady ahead of us that was asking a question which seemed odd. After asking if he knew anything about cabana reservations he responded in annoyance that he had no idea what we were talking about and to turn to the Resort Pass website for information. He even threw his hands up and shook his head quickly before we even finished asking him this question. The pass includes a deal on beer buckets which he also didn't know about and made it seem like we were lying to get a deal. He took my boyfriends drink order in a rush and hastily handed him his beer. Keep in mind it's not busy at all. There was maybe seven people at the pool outside of our group. It was only us and the one other lady at the bar. He even yelled this lady to back up when she leaned into the bar area slightly to better see the available selections. We were beyond surprised by his behavior. We all work in the hospitality industry and have worked many years in a hotel environment. One in our group had even worked for many years with Hyatt at a different location. We were baffled. After deciding to just claim a cabana and wait to be told otherwise we were still unimpressed. We picked the only cabana that didn't have bird poop on the cushions. Some didn't even have cushions. They were very small and could hardly accommodate 4 people. There was no music playing and some discarded trash was blowing around the pool area. We only saw one staff member walk by in a hurry. We really wanted to avoid children and families to be able to relax, but decided to check out the main pool. Me and another girl stayed behind while our boyfriends went to check it out. We're so glad they did. We moved locations to the main pool. The cabanas are tucked back away from the pool so we didn't have a bunch of children running by and could barely hear the noise of others between the distance and the music playing. The cabanas had plenty of space, were clean, comfortable, and even had heat lamps if needed. We got an amazing server sent out that completely recovered our experience. He gave my boyfriend a birthday shot to start. He was very informed on what perks we got with a resort pass cabana. We ordered some buckets of beer and some food. They had a great selection for food and drink. The food was absolutely amazing. Outside of service and offerings the facility was impressive. The pool is beautiful with plenty of seating including lounge chairs and tables. There was two hot tubs. They offer towels which was great as we were not staying there or from the area to bring our own. It's rooftop so the view is fantastic. There are a ton of photo vantage points including a life guard style seat for pictures. In addition there was a game area with corn hole and other things. It's great for families or for groups like ours. The service was above all the highlight of our experience though. Ask for Yoni. We loved him. He was personable, hospitable, informative, attentive, and engaged. This is what we expect from Hyatt. He is the brand through and through. He is the elite of the industry that you expect to be employed in prestigious places like Hyatt. He completely turned our experience around and if management reads this review he should be celebrated. Keep up the great work Yoni! Even though our visit was off at the start we believe this was a one off occasion and highly recommend choosing this location for a nice get away.

Amazing hotel with great views from seemingly any room. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, rooms night be a little small with more than two people but beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space otherwise. My only complaints is that there is a resort fee and parking is insanely expensive for very tight spaces.

Gorgeous view of the Bay! We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon and they set out rose petals and champagne for us. Totally worth it! We stayed in a Premium View King, photo for reference.

The hotel is huge, with large conference rooms, so it is always full of people, but the infrastructure is very good. Very well located, and the surroundings are great for morning walks. If you have more time, go to one of the Pacifico beaches, with La Jolla, for example, to see the seals.

I was initially impressed with the grand scale of the hotel, but quickly realized I would be better off at the Westin down the street or the Marriott. The best part of the hotel was the view and proximity to Seaport Village. The room was clean enough and the bed was fine. However the walls were quite thin, as were the windows so I wasn't able to sleep much. The food offerings inside the hotel we're underwhelming for the price. I got food poisoning either from the little market sandwich or the Burger 30 restaurant and was unable to leave my room for 24 hours. I called the front desk to ask to have some Pedialyte charged to my room, and while the young lady was very polite, she said they were unable to deliver it, but that they sold it downstairs in the gift shop. I was still quite sick the day after, so I asked for a late check-out to have some rest before the long ride home, but was denied. I don't usually leave negative reviews, however if you are looking for accomodations in the downtown area, I suggest you try elsewhere.

Amazing location, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. Rooms on the west side had great views of the harbor/bay/ocean. Has multiple restaurants on site and seaport village is barely a walk away. Also close to the marina, little Italy, and other downtown locations.

Great service, but walls are thin so you can hear everything happening on other side. also parking is 40 bucks a day plus a 35.00 resort fee so expect to pay 115.00 on top of whatever the room costs. the pool is heated and offers great views. elevators are super fast.

i wish they would spread out the guests to different floors, it was so packed on my floor it felt like a dorm.
