This store had been owned by others for several years until recently. They were well meaning book lovers, but the store got frayed and crammed and often felt more like a used bookstore than one where you bought new books. The new people have it right. Their inventory is not what you'll find at a Barnes & Noble, but it's well curated and the space is one you'll enjoy browsing in. The staff is friendly but not overbearing, as staff in small stores can be sometimes. And the truth about bookstores is that you could go to a bookstore with just a thousand titles and you'd find something you like. (They, of course, have many more than that.)

Went looking for a specific version of Rapunzel (my childhood favorite) and they did not have it. They immediately offered to order it for me at no extra cost and hold it until I could come back. This was prior to Christmas. I was in Colorado for the holiday and they held it until last weekend! I'm so grateful that they went through such lengths since no major bookstore ever carries my preferred version. Will definitely be shopping here again.

Non chain book stores have a personality all their own. I love walking thru here on date nights and picking out books - for myself, for my wife and for my kids. There are often really strong recommended reading lists from the staff. The store has a pretty small footprint, but it's got great content and fair prices. We try to make regular purchases at places like this, and will continue to frequent.

finally a bookstore back on the main line! Lovely, intimate, lots of good current and favorite books. Also, a whole table of most schools' required summer reading for your students...lots of authors' visits and workshops. plus you can order books and have them in really quickly, no shipping charges!!!

Small, quaint, independent book store. The people working there were lovely. As usual, not a large poetry section, but given it's not Barnes and Noble size and aforementioned considerations it's 4 stars not 3 (if I could I'd give it 4.5 stars). Support local and small businesses.

The kind of bookstore every neighborhood should have. People these days shop around for the lowest price on books as if they spend as much on books as they do on food and as if they'd starve without books. For a place like this, I have no objection to going in and paying full price for a hardback. Don't get me wrong, though, they do have good deals. If you spend a certain amount per year there is a free discount plan you can tap into. Also, I gave them my email address and the only email I've gotten from them is one telling me I can get a substantial discount on one item during the month my birthday is in. When you consider how many hours it'll take you to read a book, even full-price books are a bargain. Main Point Books also has very comfortable seats to sit in if you feel like sampling a chapter and a very knowledgeable staff.
If you don't know Wayne, it's a destination worth visiting in its own right. Lots of good restaurants and, if you're not up for a full meal, Gryphon Coffee is as good a coffee shop as you'll find anywhere. Also the Anthony Wayne Movie Theater features first-run movies. This is all within easy walking distance from SEPTA's Wayne Train Station, which has a platform level with the train for those who may require that, as do I. Go to the upper parking lots if you want to park for hours. Park free after six and on Sundays.
