I love events here but I am alumni so have a special relationship with the place. Definitely comes across as 70's college area - not what you would call a modern venue.

Beautiful and historic building on CU Boulder's campus
Beautiful location. Finding parking is a challenge.
Beautiful internal architecture, bathroom wete eco friendly, and the seats weren't all that bad either.
It's a gorgeous venue in a very nice area of campus. Easy to get to with pay to park lots around it. It's so elegant and spacious on the inside and every seat seems to be a good one.
Seats are to small to cramped. Never go to another event here again. Airplanes have more room.
It is an amazing building with a beautiful architectural style and intelligent design.
Interesting venue. Attended two graduations there Great acoustics and viewing, even from the upper balconies
Stunningly beautiful! I love going to The Nutcracker here around Christmas time.
A wonderful venue for live performances. All seats are good acoustically and most are good visually. Parking is always a challenge as CU makes it neither convenient not inexpensive.
Big, beautiful auditorium. Lots of seating. The yellow to tinted windows make this feel like an old library.
Acoustics excellant, seats comfortable, easy to navigate to refreshments and bathroom.
Such a beautiful concert hall, would recommend attending one of there winter holiday programs!
A beautiful hall with great accustics. We were there for the youth orchestra.
This is a beautiful venue, but the acoustics are a little strange. We went to see Midori, I think her name was. She was very good; however, her violin either needed to be mic'd, or the setup needed to be different some somehow. She was very muffled.
Such a classic venue. Bring a fan though... It's hot in there.
The WestSide Story performance was great and in expensive. Parking is always a problem on CU campus... so get there a half hour early, and use the Parkmobile app on your phone... the old LCD meter in the lot is near impossibe to read as a senior, if it works at all!.
First time visit. Very pleasant venue. Good acoustics. Definitely recommend and look forward to return.
Parking easy easy in and out.Good people running the venue.Good sitelines for us.
It's old. The stage is deep and sometimes I wonder about the acoustics. Restrooms are all the way down in the lower level, so God help you if you're in the loge.
Great auditorium, excellent acoustics, and very fun dance recital!!!
Cool old theater. Parking wasn't to hard and getting in and out was easy. No alcohol but college bars just across the street suffice. Lots of stalls in the ladies room, so that's good too.
Beautiful venue, colorful lights and an interesting concert.
Beautiful concert hall gas stood the test if time. More incredible each year!
Nice venue and people. Events from concerts to talks to local graduations. Lots of local history.
Not a huge fan of big crowds but we enjoyed the Nutcracker here. Parking was adequate if you weren't running late. Macky was pretty easy to find. The seats we had (row k, 8-10) were excellent. Easy to see the stage and close enough for a visit to observe the orchestra before the show. Ladies restroom was on this side of the theater, which was convenient. Lines at restroom were long but went quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to see a baby changing table in the large stall on the far left, even though I had left my baby at home. Thank you Macky Auditorium!
Good value. Great performance. Enjoy family activity
They were awesome!! Reserved seats so my vision impaired husband could see our daughter graduate! Thanks Matt!
Friendly and helpful staff, just know you can not take in a purse unless they are see through. They provided me with one, but everyone got to see what I had in my bag, like necessary lady products... Lol!
Great acoustics and a nice venue for smaller.concerts.
Went with my choir class and I absolutely loved it.
Nice acoustics. Easy campus location. Very small seats. Plenty of space for merch. Nice bathrooms. Parking is tough, get there early.
Rediculuous hoops to jump through to get a beer, beautiful venue
1922! Great acoustic! The David Bowie tribute concert was memorable.
I think they've done some renovating since I was last there. Beautiful job inside and out.
Watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) at this theatre - the theatre is a gem. Wish I lived in the area to visit other events here. It was built to last. Loved the wide stairwells and the oak.
A wonderful on campus venue. I been to many performances and can highly recommend it.
This place was nice with leather seats as long with a beautiful scenery with lights
Great acoustics and quality music make Macky a great venue for many types of entertainment. Student tickets can almost always be obtained for a minimal amount
Still the BEST SOUND System EVER. I have performed at the annual Christmas concert here at CU many years ago and was thrilled to be able to see my cousin's daughters dance recital at Macky recently. Macky continues to be an incredible venue for such events. The space was used very effectively and the sound system is just as good as it was 30 years ago, if not better. The staging area was perfect for the recital and lent an air of distinction to the whole event. What a lovely reason to be back on campus and in one of the most beloved buildings at that.
We went to see Langhorne Slim here and it was such a beautiful venue.
The lighting is pretty epic but the balcony is closed
The settings inside feel classic and peaceful, definitely a good music hall.
Macky is a wonderful old concert hall with great acoustics. Because it is on campus, it is difficult to get to and parking is scarce to non-existent. It is a short walk to the Hop or Skip buses along Broadway and/or Colorado Blvd. One tip: There are more bathrooms in the basement.
Acoustics excellent. Diverse programs, from music, to comedy, politics, drama, ballet, speakers, actors, student recitals. Friendly staff.
Saw a lovely circus, show. All seats offer great views
Beautiful concert hall, amazing architecture, amazing place to go see someone perform or give a speech
Macky is a well-loved and well-attended auditorium on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The acoustics are beautiful for everything from live classical and jazz to prerecorded modern and experimental music played with dance ensemble performances. The volume can get a little loud at times but I've never felt like I was going to lose my hearing. I recommend not sitting much farther back in the orchestra than 3-4 rows under the balcony. Some sounds can get a little muted that far away. The building was updated not long ago with a second women's restroom; no more trips across the street during intermission!
Very nice venue. Good quality productions. The excellent Boulder Phil plays there. The only problem is that there s not a lot of parking options and entering the theater takes forever if it s a sold out show. Other than that, great venue.
Beautiful building! Paid to park for graduation and was worth it!!
The Auditorium itself was very nice, and we went there for my daughter's graduation. However, there are a few items of note that kill the vibe so to speak...The stairs are downright scary; almost feels vertical, and at numerous times I felt as if I would trip and fall down, baby in hand! The speaker system as well could use some fine tuning, and be a bit louder and clearer. For the most part though, a nice place to hold a big event!
Mahlera fourth symphony, wonderful sound from the orchestra, only have four because at times it as hard to hear the soprano singing. She needed to move closer to the microphone or project her voice more. Other than that it was still beautifully sung and performed.
A beautiful venue--with aesthetic appeal and acoustic excellence!
The Macky is a wonderful place to see a small intimate show.
Nice. But the University really needs to spend money and update the seating..very cramped hard for others to get in and out. My brother did not have enough leg room. Leg rooms should be larger now days.
Such a beautiful place. So glad my cousin had her graduation there!
