Great ballet company in Colorado. As someone who loves ballet but has only seen the Nutcracker several times, I was happy to learn upon moving to Denver that they have a ballet company which every year comes out with a full season comprised of classics as well as new works.

I first saw the company perform at the Arvada Center for their "Evening Under the Stars" in which they danced selections from past seasons as well as some teasers from the current season. I finally got the chance to see a full performance when I went to see Alice in Wonderland at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Amazing show, funny and entertaining while also displaying the amazing talent and athleticism of the dancers. The sets were very creative and the orchestra was great too. It was great show for both adults and kids and I am not surprised to learn the performances were sold out. Now I can't wait to catch Swan Lake for next season!

My daughter goes here for ballet classes and I have picked up adult classes too. Such a friendly yet disciplined ballet academy. Instructors are nice and helpful. Love their productions! I see my daughter attending this for many many years!

Just so bummed that we weren't able to get in when we arrived 12 minutes late to the Nutcracker. We left home in plenty of time, but due to 4 accidents that showed up on our GPS, sitting in traffic 45 minutes to go 6 miles, then waiting and waiting to get into the parking garage, then waiting in line to pay for parking, then walking the 3 blocks, we arrived late. Our seats were at the top, free-standing seats in the Loge, so there wouldn't have been any problem to let us in except the usher would not let us in. When we were seated at the halfway point intermission, she stated she allowed "about 15 people" who were late comers before us to go in and view the ballet from our seats. Those were OUR SEATS!! While waiting the agonizing 30 plus minutes from the lobby, you could see the TV monitor by the bar, but the quality was terrible and you could only hear the orchestra if you stood against the wall, far from the one TV. I was beside myself with anger and disappointment that we could not just slip in and sit in our seats. There were at least 60 people who were late walking in with us, and those we hung out with in the lobby all stated how early they left and how accidents impeded them getting to the ballet on time. What we did see was great, and I still am so very disappointed that our night ended up the way it did because of an inconsiderate usher and some car crashes.

We are season ticket holders, though I've never written a review before. We went to the matinee on Saturday 4/6 and were totally blown away! We saw this company do serenade a couple of years ago but Saturday's performance was transcendent. I thought nothing could beat it but then they did Carmina Burana, it was like nothing I've ever seen and I'll remember it for the rest of my life. My husband and I both agreed that it was the best ballet performance we've ever been to! Thank you so much Colorado Ballet!

Worst experience ever.

Worst experience ever.

I paid over $200 for tickets that were completely wasted had to walk out of the venue because of the people surrounding me.

Barely able to follow anything going on in the show because of people with unruly children.

Walked out at first intermission, talked to a door person and they didnt even care people were walking out.

Sorry but if the venue cant sell tickets appropriately for ages so people can enjoy the show. Then I simply wont return.

If you cater to children please schedule accordingly to time slots so that people that want to actually enjoy the show can enjoy the show I have children myself but my children can handle a public event without causing a disruption to the public.

There were children kicking the seat backs babies crying, and children that couldnt sit still.

If you said a word to the parents it was almost like I was a criminal, sorry but I came for a cultural experience not for drama and distraction.

We began going to the Colorado Ballet presents the Nutcracker at the Ellie Caulkin's Opera House 3 years ago, making it our newest family tradition, and we have yet to be disappointed. The Colorado Ballet has such graceful dancers and we are always mesmerized by their performances! If you're in the area around Christmas time, put Colorado Ballet's The Nutcracker on your "must see" list!

Our Academy provides comprehensive training for students ages three through adult with classes ranging from Creative Movement to Pre-Professional Division levels.

Our faculty consists of experienced instructors who have danced professionally themselves or have extensive teaching experience. They provide individualized attention to each student while emphasizing proper technique and artistic expression.

Education Programs

We also offer education programs designed to engage students in learning about dance history and appreciation while providing opportunities for hands-on experience with professional dancers. These programs include school assemblies where our dancers perform excerpts from our productions followed by Q&A sessions; master classes taught by guest artists; workshops on costume design or stage makeup; backstage tours before shows among others.

Community Outreach

As an integral part of the cultural life of our community; we strive to make ballet accessible to everyone regardless their background or financial situation through various outreach initiatives like free public performances at parks during summer months; discounted tickets for students/seniors/military personnel/first responders etc.; partnerships with local schools/community centers/non-profit organizations etc.; scholarships/grants awarded annually based on merit/need criteria etc.
