Worst rental property management services I have ever contacted in Vancouver. Dealt with a rude and unprofessional property manager Jane Yao who seemed not to have received proper training on dealing with clients. Do not recommend this company to anyone!

We have worked with Macdonald Realty in the rental of our Vancouver home for 10 years. Our agent, Annie Lam, was terrific. She responded to our every request promptly and with excellent attention to detail. We live across the country and had to rely heavily on Annie to co-ordinate payments to vendors, secure trades, and manage our renters expectations and requirements. She was excellent. The firm is most professional. We'd highly recommend Macdonald Real Estate property management division.

Jane Yao and Mo.W. Tsang are very unprofessional agent who don't respect and honer tenancy contract. They do not respond to any phone calls ;They don't accept to take owner's belonging from storage .

There was not any note on the contract that they will rent the unit at Harbour Green One without storage and after all push me to take this Luxury apartment without having storage space!!

Worst experience I have ever had dealing with a property management place. I first saw an empty unit on Oct 15th. I agreed to move in if I could do so two weeks earlier the the 1st to allow myself time to make the move less stressful. Instead of that actually happening I was strung along wait on a final inspection. Which was completely unnecessary due to the fact I had a contractor waiting to paint the place and due the minor repairs needed inside the unit. Instead of two weeks early as a move in date I had to rush move on a Sunday after noon a week later Nov 7th (I had to wait 3 weeks) once I moved into the unit the building had loud music till 3am or emergency services called to the building 6 of the 7 nights I stayed there. I ended up dealing with the owner of the building eventually as this property management employee was completely useless and incompetent. Me and the owner of building came to an agreement that I would move on December 1st. My next dealing was trying to get my damage deposit back. Which was a hassle to say the least. After multiple phone calls to there employee I eventually took a day off work to go to there office. Where I was told to come back on the 14th as they had until then to release the deposit. On the 14th I again took a day off work to pick up the cheque that was suppost to be ready and waiting for me. Was it ready when I arrived? No they never heard of me, I called the employee and received no call back. It was not until I made threats to call tenancy board that someone finally decided it would be alright to write me a cheque that I could pick up by the end of the day. This whole process cost me minimum a $1000 and destroyed part of my soul. I'm a veteran and tried to make the processes of moving less stressful, especially considering remembrance day was around this time of year, I would never have explained that to these people in the beginning as somehow it got turned around against me from the conversations later had with the owner of the building. Considering they cost the owner money, myself money time and mental health. I do not see why they are even employed or in buissness.

I have been working with Macdonald for several years and are an excellent team of professionals. Diana has successfully rented out an entire building and provided excellent tenant advertising, screening and documentation.

they are honest polite.if you work along with them;they treat with respect

This company stays on top of the buildings it manages. I paint many of them and I am always being sent out to buildings well ahead of production start dates (they are organized). They also pay on time and the managers are respectful and professional.

Judging by the reviews left by others its obvious that this company does not care. I have contacted them for a rental unit 2 3 times within the last 2 weeks and the agent, Joy Miri Takefman, never got back to my emails and txt messages. The listing is still on Craigslist and its being updated on a daily basis. Poor property owners who think their property is getting showed to people. Property owners stay away from Macdonald Realty if you want your property rented in a timely manner This company does not care.

We were supposed to move into a basement suite July 1st 2018. Signed the lease, paid the deposit and 1st month rent and on June 31st 2018 the property manager called and said the home owner is backing out leaving my family with a one year old child homeless. They gave no reason why and we don t have our money back yet.

Scam. I got curious after looking at a listing, peeped at the "painters" other reviews and he's copied and pasted it for many companies. Maybe I should do the same. It's a special kind of low to do this during a pandemic.

The agent is very rude. And should be disciplined by the council. I don't understand why he can get hired!

We have had a wonderful experience working with Annie Lam and Lyndsey Goulet at Macdonald Property Management. Both were very professional and responsive to our needs, and maintained a great relationship with our tenants. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for peace of mind and a hands-off landlord experience.

Called to speak about an posted property. They could not confirm whether the property was still available and would have an agent call back. Received a call back, did not have info on the property I was looking into and instead they just tried to talk up a new listing without asking what I was looking for. A listing that did not match the one I described either. Diana said she would follow up and get back to me. She never bothered to get back in touch. The listing was removed the next day. Disappointed in the lack of knowledge, professionalism and care - not surprised by the other reviews.

The team is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I got a call back right away and they were super helpful. Highly recommend for commercial leasing.

0 Stars! Absolutely unprofessional and rude representatives. We were unfortunate to rent a place from them and really regret it - never had seen anything like that before!
We physically move in and next day noticed the smell of natural gas and informed Macdonald Company regarding the emergency issue. To which they did not act accordingly and sent subcontractor, named Mike, to check the leak. He called and said: I will come tomorrow To which we insisted for him to come the same day, because it s dangerous and we have 7 moth old BABY at home!!! When he arrived, he did NOT locate the issue and kept on arguing with us that what we smell is NOT natural gas smells like. Absolutely, he was not an inspector! So, we ourselves decided to call Fortis Gas to ask what to do in this situation, and they instructed us evacuate IMMIDIATELY, and wait outside for the emergency services to arrive. They were surprised that Macdonald Company failed to call them for emergency as soon as we notified them about the issue.

After this, we decided to order full house inspection to make sure that there are no other issues. We paid for the inspection ourselves and provided Landlord s Representative with a LIST of things that needed to be fixed asap to accommodate our safety and comfort. To which we were told that we must give Landlord a reasonable time for fixing. AND we were NOT allowed to fix thing ourselves.
It's been 5 months since we sent them inspection report, and NOTHING from it was done until today! Even didn't care about rodents until I called and screamed at Jane that if she doesn't deal with it immediately, I will sue Macdonald company for negligence; cause rats are making it's way into a house already.
The ONLY think they really care about is MONEY! Be careful with that company, check everything BEFORE you get into a rent.
Now we ended up with terrible inconveniences and extra expenses , cause we decided to move out from that place, and it's not fun with a little baby!

Stay away from this company! Bunch of liars that won't look out for your interests at all. What a mess since we rented via MacDonald!

I have worked with many commercial realty companies for years but cannot deny enough about the PMs from here. They are extremely attentive and responsive to the needs of their tenents. They also respond quickly to vendor requests as well. I strongly recommend anyone looking for commercial space to contact me as well as building owners to consider them for their management team.
