I just got here and the hotel was not willing to honor the price they agreed to for the reservations we made. I understand deposits. But the did the old bait and hook. They say come on out and we will wave the resort fees and then when you get here they charge you an extra 240$ for you stay. The LUXOR/MGM is a dishonest travel destination.
If you are looking for a place with loose slots keep looking this is NOT THE PLACE TO GAMBLE
I came for DRL tryouts and the esports arena was amazing! Super good production and a well put on race!
I come here with my family and so far it has been a pretty decent hotel ! Not bad for the price and it seems to be maintained well.
Nice and big hotel, easy access to airport and Uber travel... working hard to update the tower rooms. No issues with anything while there. Long lines at MLife and checking in that had us a bit frustrated. Use the MGM app for checkin to avoid waits. Paid for a cabana for the day, nice enough but overpriced for shade, some snacks and a few bottles of water. Once and done, Vegas.
This a decent place to stay on the strip. Google rates this 3 stars and that is exactly what I'd give The Luxor. Pros: on the strip, cheaper than most other hotels on strip, renovated wing and rooms are nice, not too far from trams & monorails (if you like to walk), very convenient to check in & out process w/o waiting in lines. Cons: No fridge or microwave in NON Suite rooms, if you don't like to walk it is quite a walk to the tram & monorail, restaurant selections are not great, did not like door to neighbors rooms (seen in pics), had to request extra towels several times, housekeeping did not clean after first night left a tip and still didn't clean throughly. Also, the tv cable in the bedroom DID NOT WORK. Not that we were in the bedroom a whole lot but I like to watch/listen to tv when getting ready. There is a nice big tv in the room but you couldn't watch anything on it.
The lighting was really elegant. They had nice themes for adults. There was a shopping mall and hand wash stations.
Did not stay in hotel we were there for the Blue Man Group show which was fantastic. Highly recommend this - family friendly, lots of fun, very entertaining. Went to Luxor Buffet - overpriced bland food - staff friendly though. Parking: $24 for 4 hours plus valet tip. If I was rating just on Luxor food and valet service would be a one or two star. Blue Man Group definitely five star plus.
Let me preface this with the fact that I'm a loyal MGM grand hotel guest but this hotel is very under rated. We got upgraded to a 1bedroom suite for free, staff is friendly, rooms ARE CLEAN!! Great lounges and restaurants. Not close to the strip but you should expect that if you stay here. Fun hotel!
Cool visuals, bad hotel. Lines to get checked in are a hellish experience. The pool is great and there is a lot to see around the casino and hotel. I love that you can smoke anywhere in this place because it's a free country afterall. The buffet is 4/10, and of course overpriced. The amount if tourists in this town make me want to shoot myself and that feeling of being part of an assembly line of fun goers is very apparent when waiting in line at the checkin or buffet.
This place never disappoints! The newly remodeled tower rooms are much improved. The suite is nice and spacious. Luxor is always one of only a few places I will stay at in Vegas. They even accommodated a private roulette table for the guys for a night. Craps tables were amazing as always! Thank you Luxor! Can't wait to see you again.
Cool building, I will have to try it again. We didn't get to spend much time in it.
In some areas they need to focus on more training before they send their employees out into the lions den. A couple of bartenders had attitudes, they've been there too long. But overall it's an amazing place 90% of the people there are just wonderful and it was a very cool experience.
I wanted a quick getaway and was able to book a room at the Luxor Hotel on a Friday night and landed a room on the 21st floor with amazing views. I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and fell asleep Saturday night to an amazing lightning and thunder show in mid summer. I spent the day at the pool, basquing in the hot sun and throwing footballs with fellow vacationers as thex water cooled us off. At night I went to a Chris Angel magic show and was amazed. The hotel is clean, accommodating and has a great Egyptian theme that exudes mystery. I love Luxor
Similar to many middle tier Vegas hotels, the check-in line during all hours of the day is crazy long, although it moves fast. The is check-in line at 7pm in the evening is about 15 minutes long. Their mobile check-in doesn't work if you booked on a third party or site aggregator. The rooms are musty smelling and you have to run the air conditioning or else it feels stifling. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel gym is 24 hours, so that is good at least.
Sleeping rooms are very clean and spacious. And quiet between rooms. Wish our room had a refrigerator. Gambling machines are separated for Covid. Gambling tables have dividers. Everything is nicely run. Thanks for a great stay.
We stayed at The Luxor Resort last week and we had an amazing time. Watched a lady win big, had decent food and comfortable beds. There was great detail in the carvings and paintings.
The room was nice and atmosphere was good. Not overly busy/crowded. Security was very present and the staff were good. No refrigerator or microwave.
Clean and beautiful also took my boys to play the computer Xbox games thingy they enjoyed
We had breakfast here. The have a great buffet. Pay one price and come back anytime between 7am and 10 pm. Unbeatable! We Had a few good payouts on the slots and the black jack table. Very nice.
I would not suggest staying here until they finish the entrance. Getting in and out is not for the faint of heart making getting an Uber or a cab a nightmare. Unless you get a steal of a deal avoid it.
Beautiful hotel, great service, definitely would visit again.
Rooms could be updated. Wall paper was peeling. There was two light switch that had no purpose. The postion of the tv was in a terrible spot. The shower head need to updated. The bed was very comfortable, could have use extra pillows. The soaking tub was nice, better water pressure than the shower. Interior of casino was very nice the pyramid shape was beautiful. The public house restaurant could have offer different cook time on the burgers. It would have been nice to have validated parking we paid for the room and still had to pay for parking.
Always a pleasure staying here clean, great service and amazing rooms. Can't wait for my next trip.
Attended the blue man group show, very entertaining. Also the resort has an awesome deli downstairs in the back of the casino. We had a great time during our visit, we stayed at another resort located mid strip. We took a Lyft which cost about $9, it was worth the trip etc.
1st time crashing here, and I enjoyed. Huge pros- the soaker tub was fabulous, & the view was amazing, from my West tower room! Huge con- no fridge in the premium room. Other than that, I had a great birthday stay
I love the theme of this hotel, everything is Egyptian! The structure itself is really neat when you walk in. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is because there are some areas that need updating. The rooms were okay, clean but could be updated. The pool area was huge with lots of room for all guests.
Room was quiet enough. Elevator is quite slow to arrive, and it's not the nicest area on the strip. However the staff was friendly and what services we did need, they were happy to oblige
Still a great place at affordable price i was surprised to see that this Hotel offered masks and sanitizer at every corner .
The gaming was fun new game that so hotel didnt have
The valet staff was nice, the bell hop was really rude for a tip tho. The front desk staff was nice as well. The room was really spacious everything was really well kept except there was hair in the shower. The room had a soaking tub a jacuzzi would have been nicer. Other than that I would definitely recommend this hotel!
No refrigerator in room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Smells amazing inside! Friendly staff. Be prepared to be asked about a hundred times "how long are you staying, interested in seeing a show at 80% of, just sign here...." Seriously. Every time you walk by. Be prepared to walk A LOT. Elevators are fast, but far apart. Very clean. Lots of amenities inside, you basically never have to leave. Connected to other hotels. Nice shopping area too
Very clean close to airport ($19 cab fair) and it's the LUXOR !
Neat hotel with good shows, solid casino, and a breathtaking interior.
Very nice design and theme. Egyptian art and structures are truly amazing. The Egyptian theme continues throughout with close attention to detail. Plenty of food outlets and casino if interested. Stayed here for a week. Enjoyed it but it is a bit further from the main part of the Las Vegas Strip. Not as extravagant as other places such as The Venetian or Caesar's Palace. But nice in its own right and isn't as expensive.
I stayed in the 'pyramid' building and had a great time. The rooms could use a refresh but it was hardly dingy, plus the slanted windows were novel along with the diagonal elevators! It is also connected to Mandaly Bay and Excalibur so there is plenty to do within a short distance. Would recommend.
It's our second time here and it didn't disappoint. The lead up to Christmas is apparently their off-season so it wasn't as busy as normal which suited us just fine. As we left things were starting to pick up ready for New Years Eve which we was told would be crazy. If we had the money we'd have definitely stayed a little longer.
Great service, staff and atmosphere. Will be back as soon as we can :D
So far, so good. The Tower suite is actually nice now.
Worth it for the price. Good location, easy access to other casinos.
Disappointed. Very expensive for a simple hotel room without a coffee pot. Would not stay again.
Hotel was iiighT. They didn t have the room available when we arrived so we had to stay at a lame room which had a slow drain in the sink. The thermostat keeps switch back to a specific temperature on its own. The gym was tight but was able to squeeze two workouts in. Buffet was the juice machine needs to be cleaned. There s a terrible taste as if it hasn t been cleaned since it left the manufacturer.
Was the room even cleaned. My guess is no the sheets were dirty and the soap next to the big tub in the suite was already used. For being in a suite you would think the sheets would be cleaned and and the little cheap shampoo would be new. Dont recomend for the price. You can stay somewhere nicer and clean sheets.
I was in town for my 3rd anniversary of marriage and were staying for a week.
We had a room in the pyramid part of the hotel. Upon arrival in the room we were hit with a burst of humid/muggy air all around.
We assumed maybe the air wasn't on and the curtain was open then was blasting hot sun in the room because the sun rises in our direction.
So we gave it two days and nothing changed ....even with the old outdated A/C (not even central A/C) on full blast and the curtains closed.
It was worst coming out of the shower and coming off the street in 100 plus degree sun.
Also another negative is the room is extremely outdated . Atleast have a fridge to store water, food, alcohol and from the blazing heat...really?!
And the decoration were very old looking.
Me and my wife constantly made jokes about how our room has the same stuff from when the hotel opened in 1992 .
After 2 days me and my wife said thats enough we have to complain about our room temperature its unbearable torture
We spoke with a young lady at the front desk about the room.
No questions asked she said would you like to upgrade the room we said "HELL YEAH" and we moved our stuff the the East side of the hotel.
Upon our arrival to our room we immediately noticed a updated difference as we traveled to the new room.
We opened the door and the A/C central air felt like heaven not like the old school A/C box barely blowing in our old room.
I have no complaints about this room.
Everything thing was waaaaay better
They should update all the rooms in the pyramid part of the hotel because its 1992 outdated and freaking hot only 3 stars
I recommend staying in the East side updated part of the hotel not the pyramid because you will dislike it.
Pictures attached. Look at the difference
Easy to get in and out of by car from the freeway. The tram makes it easy so you don't have a ton of walking to do to get from the Excalibur, Mandalay Bay and Luxor.
Easy check in, great rooms, awesome price, and fun casino!
We've stayed in this hotel many times before but the rooms aren't too appealing, only the pyramid rooms are. Reason being is because the windows are sideways and it's just a little bit funky. I've stayed in the one where is just a regular building. It's better than the pyramid building rooms. One thing that's fun in the Luxor Hotel is the Esports gaming arena. I'm a teenager who likes to play video games and the pricing is not bad at all. For 15 dollars I think it's 1 hour. Place is close to the end of the strip and it's not to busy in that area. If your a person who can memorize the way to go to the parking garages in the Las Vegas hotels, it gets easier and stress level eases down a bit. Stay safe out there travelers!
If you go to Vegas you have to go to the Luxor it's an amazing place good shows and food
Pretty awesome pyramid inspired hotel! Loved the vibe it gives ya!
Very clean very professional! Would stay again with them! MGM has done a good job on practicing and teaching top notch service. And they also have classes kn hownto gamble with games you are unfamiliar with!
Love the rooms, just wish they would at least offer a mini fridge. So I could have plenty of cold water after a night of partying (AKA gambling) or a microwave would be nice also, so much good food in Vegas and I can't take anything back to the room because nothing to warm it up in.
If I could give -10 stars I would. They started off by insisting we change from the king we reserved to a double queen. We said no. Then the room they put us in is next to a room with music blaring, and by blaring I mean vibrating everything in our room. We called multiple times and they just said theyd send someone. 2 hours later my husband goes down to request a room change if nothing will be done. They have no rooms available and will just send someone. 30 minutes later we can hear security knock... they said they will turn it down. 10 minutes later music is back and they are laughing as if it's a huge joke. Horrible.
Always a pleasure going to the LUXOR! Their hospitality and customer service goes above and beyond each and every time we go. Always a smile! Can't seem to say enough about their staff and their new amenities! Highly recommend!
This was my first visit to Las Vegas. I know Luxor is older but I was not expecting the wear and tear. The staff was super polite and the Luxor is clean. I would have rated it higher if our room AC got the room below 85 F. If I stayed here again it would be in the winter. Also we were charged an additional $110 for "amenities access" after we checked out. This pretty much wiped out any savings we got from booking the room online.
I only walked through the lower level. To look around the hotel was unique and different. I didn't go to the casino and didn't stay ling. Very pretty.
COVID = no shows no shows no shows yet full price rooms
Nice hotel! Stayed here for a staycation and we had a great time. Not as nice as some of the other hotels on the Strip, but one of the better ones in town! I recommend if price is in your range.
Rude staff, didnt honor reservations, but hey they gave me a mini bottle of water so theres that, 2 stars are for location and access to amenities, their staff, zero stars. A bartender made it a point to have another bartender deny giving some lady a free beer because he thought she might give it away, things are tight at the luxor folks when the bar tenders are ready to fight you over a $0.25 draft beer.
Pretty dated but kind of cool.
Saw the blue Man group and since it's legal I was hiiiiiiigh and it was awesome.
First time going here was a great experience.
Got checked in quick.
Room was clean.
Staff were polite.
Restaurants on site were just as affordable as going out in my own City.
The whole building was clean except the barrier on the 15th floor needs to be dusted or wiped down.
I have asthma and I'm allergic to tobacco smoke.
The casino floors smelled a bit of cigarette smoke, but significantly better than that of our local casinos.*
I would compare it to being in a used car that the previous owners smoked in, but has been cleaned thoroughly.*
I would compare our local casinos as being in a car with someone who is actively smoking and blowing it in your face.*
*those are only for the casino areas of the hotels
The air, for the most part, tasted and smelled fresh and I had no allergy or asthma problems.
The walking areas were not crowded and we were there during the night prior to and leading into Christmas day.
I would stay here again.
Beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and pretty, with all the necessary amenities included such as iron, shampoo, lotion, towels, pad and pens to write, although I would had liked to have had a bigger closet and a tub, they were rather small. The view from our room was beautiful and made up for anything it lacked, we had a view from the 28th floor facing the mountains and most of the city. The buffet was delicious, we loved it and recommend it hands down, it had plenty of food to choose from and much more when it came to desserts, and all at a good price for sure. We were going to go to the Bellagio buffet, but we're so glad we tried the one here at the Luxor hotel, so worth it. The elevators were a little old and moved so much they felt like they were going to break at any minute, but eventually we got used to the noise and movement. We loved the statues and all the decorations. The environment was good overall, I'm glad we chose this hotel, we'll definitely be back!!
I didn't stay at the Luxor, but walked through. I just felt a spooky feeling about it... I did not like it. Maybe it is just me... probably the fact that the 'Bodies- exhibit is there didn't help any, but I thought it smelled musty and looked slightly run down.
BED BUGS! No coffee in the rooms, no refrigerator, no microwave. Higher "resort fees". Dirty bathroom and poorly cleaned room. The remote had caked up food on it. Unsanitary conditions I continued to discovered during the stay. Clearly not what it used to be.
Poor customer service. The guy, Ciro, said I get what I paid for when I just basically said to get me a nice room within the room class I asked for.
Wanted to go to Egypt but no one wanted to go with me due to security concerns. So my girlfriend, booking our stay in the US, selected this place to satisfy my Egyptian need. :)
This was an absolute lovely stay, personel is very friendly and helpful, the connection with the self parking is excellent and straight forward, the casino is nice, the visual element of this hotel is very fun if you are into it. (We visited other hotels on the strip, and while beautiful, they're mostly square blocks. At least here you get to stay in a f'ing pyramid! :D )
Enjoyed my stay, had a great time, not the newest hotel, but certainly one of the more original ones! :D
Such a cool experience to even see it up close. The inside is amazing. Blue Man group plays there. Worth seeing. The new E A sports gaming room Is in there too. If u play PC games or even counsel games its worth a lookie-loo.
Amazing hospitality, very clean rooms, awesome time.
Good location if you are there for a conference. Make sure you get a room in the newly renovated towers...
Went to see the Blue Man Group which is an absolutely must see experience. The hotel has great theming, was clean and the staff was great as well!
This is one of my favorite places to stay in Las Vegas. I love the architectural interior, the open hallways on the pyramid, basically a beautiful open concept astonish you when you enter the first time. The rooms are spacious, renovated recently and they have very decent service from all the staff. Good access to Mandalay or Excalibur, you can also use the tram.
Good odds but creepy slot attendees. Looking at my wife like she's a steak.
An architectural delight inside and out. Make sure you get a view of the tram access side.
We went to the Titanic exhibit, BlueManGroup and the buffet. We were not disappointed.
Luxor seems to always be our go-to Mlife casino for the past many years. Their customer service is amazing. Having VIP lines are always appreciated and available. We always upgrade to a suite because we like that soak in tub in the room next to the window.
Our family of 5 booked 6 night stay for the Rockabilly Car Show 17th - 23rd. We arrived at the hotel at 2pm. The check in line was long but moved very quickly. We had to wait for our other family members to arrive. They will hold your bags until your room is ready. So, we decided to check out the hotel. They have 4 flat screen TV showing music videos, gives you something to watch while waiting in line. The entire hotel has hyroglifics on the walls, the ceilings are very high, due to the pyramid design. There is a nice full scale model of the titanic in the lobby.
We decided to have dinner at the buffet, which we had to do Marco polo to find. Lol. The price was 15.00 per person. There wasn't a large selection of food, each station offered 3 dishes. The food was cold even under the warming lights. No flavor from any of the dishes. BBQ ribs should not be cooked in the oven. Should be done on a grill as that is what BBQ means. The atmosphere was dark for buffet. I do love the decor. We did not like the food there and never went back.
We return to the main floor and we were approached 5 times to book shows. I understand you are trying to give your guests the best experience but stop asking every time we pass you. The answer will still be the same. Not sure yet. We arrived with direction besides to enjoy our vacation with no schedule. There is 2 Starbucks coffee shops. 1 is 24 hours and the small one is open 6am to 2pm. I am not a fan of $5 coffee but that is all they offer at 5am. Need Dunkin Donuts or Cumberland Farms. The Deli restaurant was really good. The chicken & waffles were the best and reasonable pricing.
Our room was booked for the Pyramid but we were upgraded to Tower West, which is closer to the pool, gym, and spa. The room was very nice and clean. We had double queen beds and still had alot of room to move around. The room had a nice sitting area with 2 chairs and table. Cool track lighting that can be controlled. So you can read in the sitting area without bothering others in the room. 4 dresser draws but one holds the safe and wardrobe closet with iron / board. The bathroom had tub and shower. The blow dryer work good which is a plus because other hotels I stayed didnt have one.
My biggest complaint was the lack of housekeeping. Our trash wasn't empty everyday nor clean glasses. The sheets were not changed each day and bathroom wasn't cleaned. We had to call down to have fresh linens and room cleaned.
The hotel is connected to the excalibur hotel, so we enjoyed shopping there and the excellent buffet.
Make sure you obtain your MLife card because you get points for all purchases within the 13 hotel chains. Also, I really like this hotel because it's not in the heart of the stripe it's not everyone from other hotels coming and going. So it's less traffic then other places. The pool closes too early. We didnt get a chance to enjoy the 3 pools because it closes at 6pm. I feel that is too early.
This a 5 star hotel based on the price
The rooms are nothing special however the bathroom was amazing. A shower and a bathtub with amazing water pressure.
The pool area was nice. 3 diffrent pools I believe so tons of space to spread out and enjoy yourself!
The only downside Is the in hotel breakfast reastraunt avoid this at all costs.
Check-in was easy, and quick; we were promptly greeted.
The journey throughout the casino and hotel was pleasant and clean.
Our room was clean and tidy. Sheets and towels were free of stains and tears. The bathroom was properly clean.
However, we found the beds less than comfortable in comparison with such hotels as La Quinta Inn & Suites, Hampton, Holiday Inn, and a couple "strip" hotels.
Our largest displeasure was the noise that easily filtered from the hallways into our room on the 7th floor. Honestly, this was the noisiest hotel stay outside of staying at a renovated Motel 6, and this is not an embellishment!.
Would we stay here again? No.
Would we visit the other facilities within? Yes
Very pretty hotel and casino. We didn t stay at the hotel, but walked through it. It had a lot of Egyptian themed decorations so that was fun. Everything was very clean and we went through the titanic exhibit which was fantastic. The only thing that I didn t like as much is that it is a darker/dim hotel & casino. I like the casinos that are brighter better, but it s still a fun casino.
the pool employees were very rude and harsh with how they spoke to guests, employees made us feel as if we were an after thought, a bug, something out of the blue, made me and my family feel as if we weren't welcomed there. the water was filled with nasty build up of some sort of liquid, the cabanas were a disaster overall the stay was great but the pool was terrible.
It was several years ago ago when we stayed at the Luxor, our First trip to Vegas in 2007. Many things are likely quite different now, not sure though. Back then it was all just "OK". The theme of the hotel is very cool, but the rooms seemed a little dated even then.
Our next trip a few years later we stayed further down the strip in a hotel that was a bit more central. The quality of the hotel there was comparable, but the real advantage is location. The Luxors location was not terrible, but something more central makes for easier walking directly from the hotel. We certainly took the bus a lot less on our second trip.
For the right deal, I would not hesitate to stay that the Luxor again, however, preference would be for something more central.
Pretty old but Im a fan of theme hotels. Esports is a big thing for us so we will definitely be returning
I feel there are better options on the strip and this hotel is kind of far away from the strip and you feel its not so happening around.
