Great resort. It deserves more than the five stars it currently enjoys.

Upscale resort
The staff is cheerful and helpful and does not hesitate to provide the service
Housekeeping service cleans the room more than once a day and this is something that counts for them
They speak English and French
Arabic language only Yusra speaks it. I ask for it by name for your help. Very cooperative and very good. You helped me a lot. May God help her. She taught me about new places in Mauritius and also anything difficult for me to understand translate for me

I also tried their dinner buffet, which was varied and delicious
The resort is clean and they care about you and your opinion.

It was so good modern and neat building, friendly staff and delicious food. If I go again, I want to hear another Indian restaurant.

The Lux Grand Gaube Hotel is a lovely resort as a whole, with lovely staff and great atmosphere. However there were some things that we were disappointed about which I've listed below.

We had to move to a second room in the middle of our stay, because one day the door mechanism suddenly stopped working (we had to get out from the backdoor which did not lock), and the staff spent several hours but still couldn't fix the door. So we were told that we had to move to a new room, which was rather inconvenient as we had everything laid out for our stay at the hotel (for a total of 8 nights). Anyway, we did the move, so that was that.

The second day in our second room, we had no hot water in the evening when we needed to shower. The repairmen were quick to show up and tried to fix the hot water but took over an hour to do so. It was after 11pm and we were given the option to move to another room that was not affected by the hot water outage. We did not take up the option because it was stressful to have to move rooms again. So we asked for a vacant room that had working hot showers, just to use the showers, and then went back to our occupied room. The staff apologised for the inconvenience, but the experience was really not pleasant to have to worry and move around just to get a shower near midnight!

When we contacted the hotel about our experience, a manager immediately spoke to us to try to understand and apologise for putting us through the trouble. We were offered a free massage session each, late checkout for our room on our last day, and part of our final bill was reduced as well.
Although the experience was not 100%, seeing that the staff there helping as much as they can to make up for the disappointment made our stay at the Grand Gaube near 5 star!

Other notes:
There is a wide coverage of wifi (which we could even get signal while kayaking near the beach)...but the speed and connection was very average, as the connection was cut from time to time and one had to forget and reconnect

They are still renovating this place but it was still a spectacular stay despite some minor glitches in the service and amenities. From the commitment seen from the management and staff once everything is fully on line I have no doubt it will be the only place for the person who wishes for the best resort experience.

Full of activity for the whole family Is especially the swimming pool really exceptional and the several dish which leaves all the four corners of the world the Chinese culture my also the Mauritian culture brief for me that it was a superb moment

Amazing experience..just that the location is too far from main city...so travel can be a bit of an issue...other than that its amazing...

Absolutely worth its 5 stars.
At first we thought that might be bored there, as we are quite active people. But were happy to discover all their water sports activities that were included. As well as full variety of other activities and events during each day. So we didn't leave the territory at all, I don't count riding a bicycles with their guide (we checked nearby streets and turtle farm) and diving with their instructor (Ken was very supportive, thank you!)

Their hotel app is handful and keep you up to date of what is happening right now. All staff is highly attentive.

Our room had a great view towards the main beach. Overall just good memories.

5 star resort with 6 star facilities and service. You will not regret staying here. Everything is amazing here

Hands down the best location for a family holiday that suits EVERYONES needs. Tons for kids to do and enjoy but with an adult feel this resort is the best for everyone. The staff are off the charts amazing and the food is beyond fabulous!

Cosy place, nice staff, food is nice all what you need to be having a great time.

It is a cozy place. Peaceful environment. Very nice personnel. A special word for the Chef at the Bodrum Restaurant. The Turkish dishes were as good as in Istanbul, which we visited last year. Thank you very much for the short and memorable stay.

The 5 restaurants are delicious, and offer you a wide choice, which allows you to diversify your meals for long stays.

Magic as a hotel. Small touches that can not be found elsewhere and that are part of the package. A beautiful setting. Really excellent. The sea is the only little problem.

Spent a week at this beautiful resort, I could have not ask for more. Rooms were fantastic, service from the staff was always friendly and so helpful. The location of resort (if you have zero intentions of traveling anywhere) this is the perfect place. The food is amazing and they certainly cater for all ages. I would certainly recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway

Amazing hospitality. Private beaches, lots of water activities, resort organised events every day, beach volleyball, several restaurants with different cuisines, large area, fantastic rooms. One of the best places I've ever stayed in.

Amazing view, friendly staff. Amenities are superb.

There are free glass bottom boat rides, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling.

Breakfast buffet is fantastic and features a widespread.

Dinner buffet is quite pricey but lacks variety.

The free wifi provided is fast and is around the whole hotel.

Great experience. The customer service is a bit slow but the staff are amazing. The amenities are brand new... A bit too new to the point you can still smell new drawers, etc. Location is terrific with that view of the sea and the 2 island in the backdrop. Lots of sports facilities.

Beautiful hotel that has just been renovated. The entrance is beautiful and overlooks the sea. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The buffets and restaurants are really delicious and very varied. There is something for all tastes and diets. Access to the beach is easy and the beach beautiful. In short, to do.

My favorite is the very famous Turkish restaurant.
Top service, excellent food.
The only disappointment was the dry and tasty baklava.

I tried very hard, but could not fond fault with anything.

Holiday of a lifetime to celebrate 30:yrs anniversary. It was everything we imagined and service was impeccable. Staff were very helpful and friendly and they made our holiday very special with there kind gift's and attention to detail.

Basically a very nice facility! Value for money is not fully justified. In this price category you can expect something more. Otherwise everything is offered what one can / should / must expect in this category! Clean, beautiful rooms, spa area, tennis courts, various water & beach activities, well-kept beach with comfortable beach chairs and towel service. Of course, various snacks and drinks are served up to the beach chairs. Moderate animation, which I found to be very good. The extensive breakfast buffet with champagne, fruit and juice bar, freshly prepared egg dishes, etc. leaves nothing to be desired. The entire complex is very well maintained and was renovated in 2017. I know the system already from earlier and it has improved a bit by the renovation. The changing evening buffet / a la carte menu may be considered successful. The hotel staff is great, the service staff is very hard-working, but partly a little uncoordinated, that is still expandable! Partial drinks prices. We solved this problem (which goes on a long stay but a little unjustified in the Geldbuget) by every now and then a short walk in the direction of the village "Grand Gaube" and we stocked in various smaller shops with all sorts of drinks! There the saving is more than tenfold.

The resort has amazing views. It has a big private beach, and operates sea plane rides.

Detailed: Once you reach the resort they are very welcoming and right away make you feel comfortable. Very friendly staff in all departments. In terms of facilities they have everything, library, golf, water sports, nice restaurants, tennis courts etc.

Rooms are one of the cleanest and very nice. Their private beach is very clean and water as well. Restaurant food is nice and has plenty of options. Would recommend their Burger bar.

All in all I would definitely recommend this place, value for money.

Fantastic rooms and hotel grounds. The Burgers at the B&B Shack are amazing, highly recommend and the water sport facilities are really great as well. However, even though the individual service was really good, the overall communication between staff and the wait times were not up to scratch. Especially considering the price you are paying for the rooms. It took over an hour to be checked into our room, and was nearly impossible to get dinner booked at any of the onsite restaurants during the stay.

Just amazing. We had a wonderful stay, the staff was so well mannered and ready to help anytime.

Beautiful resort with modern amenities . Lovely beach. And a very soothing atmosphere to relax all day. Best part is the water sports ...love it. Good destination for family holidays.

The hotel is amazing. Every corner is perfect for a photo session to keep memories of this magical place. We only spent the day there, but hopefully we can stay for a weekend next year...

Exceptional level of service in all positions (Reception, restaurants, beach boy, ...)

The hotel is obviously beautiful with access to a multitude of nautical activities which are included for the most part.

Very useful and ergonomic smartphone application to have as much information as possible and to book events or even open your room if you do not have your card.


Clearly, the Lux * grand Gaube is truly a vacation spot where you can rest while enjoying an exceptional setting.

Among the points to improve, may be to provide free water at least for meals.

Otherwise I haven't left yet, but I'm already sorry. Thank you for everything Lux * Grand Gaube. You are without doubt one of the best hotel in the world.

The Lux Grand Gaube is a great choice for honeymooners and those who just enjoy 5* luxury. The staff is friendly and attending, we didn t miss anything while we stayed there! The two beaches are good for occasional swimming, altough the water is not as clear as it is in the west if Mauritius, e.g. Flic en Flac. The food was good, the rooms are clean and cozy. We would come again!

Kindness and luxury at its peak! While in mauritius stay here. You'll feel spoiled and you will see how they care for their environment and the dogs that live there. Make sure you wear proper formal shoes for the dinners or you will be politely asked to go change. The rooms are beautifully designed and everything makes you feel calm.

The retreat is very nice, the restaurants are delicious and the cleanliness is excellent

The atmosphere is the best thing about this place, it is one of the most beautifully designed hotels I have ever seen, so aesthetically pleasing. However, the food is not the cheapest, and isn't jaw dropping amazing, but I'd say it's pretty good. They have quite a variety of foods, there's a Turkish restaurant which surprised me, as I've never seen such cuisine in mauritius, and their burger is tasty.

The hotel well deserves its 5 stars; the room is spacious and has a very relaxing smell. The view of the beach is magnificent. The buffet and the restaurants very good.
I'll be back.
