Lux Grand Gaube is a great resort and we spent 7 nights there for our honeymoon. We had so much fun doing all water sports and relax on the beach with ice cream and drinks. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and they address our issues quickly and professionally. highly recommended and we plan to book Lux in Maldives next year.

The hotel facilities are outworldly. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful, you feel as though you're royalty. The beach is beautiful and calm. The food is really tasty.
We are here on honeymoon and this place is the closest we've ever come to paradise.

We went there this year for our special getaway. Chose this hotel based on the reviews we have read and everyone seemed to be happy with it.
It did't disappoint us. Staff are so well trained and accommodating with every request/occasion planning during our stay. They have also a physician in the hotel to resolve any small issues.
Hotel rooms are nice and with exceptional view, food is good.
Water Activities are free and fun.
Downside is the main pool is right next to the restaurant and not very big and filled with kids. The other adult pool is not heated hence not possible to use in winter.
The beach is man made (I heard), the sand is not soft and the water is not so clear. We didn't go into the water during our whole stay.
Overall we really enjoyed the stay and impressed and grateful for the hospitality.

We went to dinner at INTI, the hotel's Peruvian restaurant. You have to plan a good budget but the dishes are very good. The meat is excellent. The service is at the top! Waiter very attentive and smiling. I highly recommend.

Remarkable hotel where we have just spent 8 days. Site and architecture of the magnificent hotel with 2 beaches. Staff and manager particularly attentive. Outstanding catering and especially the Peruvian, Turkish, Creole, Mediterranean restaurants and a pastry and divine Italian cafes. An address not to be missed in the north of Mauritius.

Lux Grand Gaube is a beautifully done hotel with one of it kind quality of design, delicious food in various restaurants and service standards which has no one left disappointed when it comes to comfort your stay in this hotel. Rooms are very nicely done, with attention to details no match by many others out there for example like soap quality and smell desxrived by my 7 years old son as something..." if my girfriend would smell like, I would fall in love..." which I found particularly sweet description of something not many adults would pick it up:)
Speaking of adults plenty of areas for us too to have a drink, watch a romantic movie under night sky, or go for a dinner to one and only Peruvian restaurant with the grass feed beef steek to die for:) All together one and only another great Lux hotel were I will come back soon again and I am sure you will too.
Highly recommend it.

The staff and amenities were great and we enjoyed ...

The staff and amenities were great and we enjoyed our stay with our friends.
But we had a very unpleasant end to our otherwise wonderful stay.
We arrived on a Saturday, Sept 5th. The parking lot was full so my husband and friend parked on the golf course. My hubby and I stayed an extra night on Sunday. We had to leave early on Monday morning. The golf cart took me to get my car. And to my surprise, there was a huge & deep scratch on the left rear at the bottom of the door. The dust was still there. The guy who took me there was very helpful. He called the head security and another manager and I was told that they would send me a copy of the report and photos. To date, I haven't received anything in spite of a couple of follow up calls.
I was told to contact the police. As we rent our car from a cop in Gbay, I informed him and asked him to get in touch with the hotel. Nothing came of it. Long story short, I have to pay 4000 Rs. for the paint job. The hotel is not taking responsibility for something that happened on their secured premises. So do not park there - with no cameras it is not safe and the hotel is shirking all responsibilities. Too bad as our stay was great otherwise.

Food (personally great satisfaction !!), accommodation, service and so on personally was the best hotel I've ever used. The hotel is small and small but the view is so beautiful. The staff are friendly and give me tips The honeymoon was just two days out of six days, but I came to a different resort, and in many ways it's too much compared to the v *** resort that I'm in now. .haha

The LUX* Grand Gaube should have this sign posted ...

The LUX* Grand Gaube should have this sign posted at the entrance in beachy, boho, white washed, distressed wood (with the original paintbrushes) in keeping with the carefully curated Kate Hoppen design hotel and resort.

The dramatic airy entrance and oversized chandeliers frame the first view of one of its private beaches. It s the kind of idyllic welcome and setting that lured you all the way to pristine Mauritius. It s a charming hotel with its cinemas, tropical modern Palm Bar, British red telephone box for free long distance calls and the knitted yarn hammocks draped between palm trees.

Our junior suite faced a beach stretching between two of the main restaurants.

The room is a pale colour with a marshmallow-soft bedding, a flat panel TV and well-stocked mini-bar. Behind the bed is a separate area with his and hers wardrobes leading into a tropical-modern style bathroom with muted monochrome floors that stretch towards the floor-to-ceiling windows. These frame a giant, free-standing bath tub (yes, privacy is retained and it is big enough for two). A large, separate rain shower is hot and stocked with local, spiced toiletries. This is what we now call: bathroom goals.

The WiFi is fast and available throughout the hotel but we needed to disconnect/reconnect each time we moved around the large resort - a small observation. You are in Mauritius and Instagram can wait.

There are separate reviews for each restaurant but over the food quality here is high and good with a wide variety including Turkish, Peruvian/Japanese, BBQ, European and this is before you come to the main all-purpose buffet restaurant where breakfast is served each morning. The buffet breakfast is excellent with an international focus, multiple hot sections including an eggs station, pastries, breads, continental, cold cuts, fresh fruits juices made in front of you, Asian nods including dim sum and sub-continental Indian food. It is reminiscent of a Dubai brunch (for those of you that know) minus the party and booze. Palm Court is bright, airy, fresh with wind flowing throughout. They do as great a job here as you can expect from a buffet breakfast.

Overall, Bodrum Blue, Creole Smoke House and Beach Rouge stood out. INTI is very hyped and OK, but, the bar is well worth checking out.

There is a dizzying amount of activities available at LUX* Grand Gaube. There are multiple water activities on site, excursions, two cinemas that play movies and sports events, champagne sabre (thank you Rebecca for this awesome experience), multiple cocktail and wine bars etc. We joined free aperitivo nights sinking Aperol Spritz and Mai Tais. There is plenty to do here! You should sign up for the morning walking tour of the hotel after breakfast to get to know the services and grounds.

The gym is impressively stocked with equipment, treadmills, cross-trainers, rowers, free weights, a smith machine, towels, water, TVs, headphones etc. There is no excuse not to work out. It faces a few tennis courts available to guests. There is a separate stretching area where classes are available.

The resort is both adult and child-friendly. There is a separate Banyan beach area which is adults only. The Banyan area also has a pool complete with lounge chairs and beds adjacent to a Rum Shack, Creole Smoke House restaurant and BB s burgers.

We went to the Spa twice. No appointment needed; there is a quite pool area with three different pools at different temperatures available. You should get a massage though: I had a Thai and Balinese massage.

There are too many people to mention but the staff here are awesome and really take the time to make your stay perfect. Vishnu is the king of gins, friendly and engaging. Mervin looked after us on the beach with drinks and a sense of humour. The concierge Homesh was indispensible.

I would return to the LUX* Grand Gaube. I already recommended it to a few friends. I am also keen to stay in other LUX* hotels including the two others on Mauritius or in their other international locations.

Completely renovated, very stylish hotel with a beautiful location in the north.

Things that speak for a vacation at Lux:
- stylish hotel
- great facility with a great beach
- friendly staff, very accommodating
- very clean
- Great catering even with higher demands than the usual flat-rate buffet
- delicious coffee
- many things e.g. Water sports included
- much more ...

We were there in March, the first few days we could still feel the cyclone - but then great weather. Advantage in the north it rains less than in the south and bathing shoes can stay at home. Mixed and pleasant audience from GB, FR and GER.

Not cheap but price-performance ratio fits. Definitely a heavenly vacation and to be recommended. (We: couple, early 30s)

Outstanding resort. Genuine kindness from the staff who will always out of the way to make the guests happy and feeling special. Location on a private peninsula with nice sandy coves is unique. Great culinary experiences. Just too many choices to choose from. Spa is also excellent. Rubie managed to remove a chronic back pain in my back. Annabell and Zaid provided outstanding service as well. Natural beauty of the place is also to be mentioned. Beautiful grounds with plenty flowers, birds and animals. The moonrise over the coconut trees was breathtaking...

Rating Lux Cafe which is in the resort: Some of the best coffee in Mauritius (I.e. passable coffee elsewhere). Recommend sipping it at the bar restaurant facing the lagoon. Club sandwich and burger at the bar restaurant are not bad either.
