Very poor emergency experience. The nurse and the doctors simply ignore you. If your skin has color. My child kept crying in the emergency room because he was sick. I waited for 4 hours in the emergency room and no one came to help us. The doctors are impatient and they will bark at you. Very unprofessional. Very irresponsible to the patient. The security guards are very rude. Very rude, they are very disrespectful to the patient. Garbage hospital! ! Will not come to this hospital again, I will return to maimonides hospital

Avoid at all costs. ER was run as incompetently as I can imagine. No oversight of staff, experience of a ER nurse taking a blood sample and throwing bloody needle on floor where it stayed for the remainder of our unnecessarily long 18 hour stay. They definitely run those clocks so you can charge the insurance more
My father was hit by a car and was brought to the ER of Lutheran Medical Center, mind you, level 1 trauma center. He came in at 7:30 am and was seen by a physician only 2 hours after arrival and sent for diagnostic studies. No one provided him with translator, as he does not speak English; however he was given some paperwork to sign. At 11 he was given pain meds. it turned out that he sustained a fracture. At 4 PM trauma team showed up, in a form of a 6 feet pregnant woman, she did not even have a stethoscope on her, I am not even talking about a flashlight or a reflex hammer. This is level one trauma center? More than 8 hours passed since the injury before being evaluated by trauma team? He was admitted to the hospital and spent 2 days in some corridor of ER waiting for a bed. The situation on the floor is the same, the nursing staff continues to be rude and lazy, I have yet to see a physician, I can speak only to PAs. Nurses see the patient only for administration of meds; otherwise hours can pass after ringing the nurse. Still no translators, every time the staff comes into the room and starts talking to him English, disregarding his pleas for a translator. Even in person you cannot get any information about the treatment plan or anything from anyone at the hospital. When you call, prepare to be on hold for hours and still not getting through.
The kindness that some of their paramedics have when attending an emergency leaves much to be desired, they treat people like animals, today we saw how two of them (a wick and a man) dragged a boy in the snow each took his arm and they pulled him after another ambulance arrived and a third grabbed his feet to lift the floor a little, threw him on the stretcher and while they assured him they made fun of him, what kind of people are those, they are supposed to be ad site to people in need and in emergencies but I think some do not have the human side and empathy that many others forget the service of their vocation
ER service is a joke. Mediocre hospital with useless doctors and only 1-2 knowledgeable/helpful doctors. Not nearly enough effort is given to understanding the patients symptoms nor bothering to discover the reason behind it.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND LUTHERAN MEDICAL DENTAL CLINIC. If you want your teeth, do not want to go crazy trying to get anything accomplished and care anything about your quality of life, DO NOT GO THERE. My experience was beyond horrible. Right out of the movie SAW, or if you could imagine be a patient for Dr. Mengele in the Holocaust. Dr. Elmaria tortured me and I have had an untreated infection for over 3 months, Not one administrative person will help me. Dr. Elmaria raised my quoted price by $5000 a year into my treatment plan and never informed me. When I found out, she got mad and retaliated against me. I have paid over $10,000 and am left with implants that need to be removed, infections and nightmares. They insist there are no other dentists who can assist me. Read the other reviews. There is a reason they are all negative. This institute needs to be taken over by compassionate people who know how to have a bit of humanity and bed side manners as well. SHAME ONE YOU LUTHERAN MEDICAL DENTAL CLINIC
I was in emergency for a baby the the doctor is good but I think it American system not so good! I was in other hospital in maimodes same story ! I think emergency has to be quick if I have to wait more than 2 hour it will be no more emergency ) In other country if something happenes they will take care of you right a way and they don't make much money as here and in America they make more money and they take there time
I would give zero stars if I could. I have been to a lot of facilities across the country, but this is by far the WORST! My doctor is completely incompetent to the point I had to diagnose myself and then I had to tell him to change the prescription for steroid cream because what he gave me was exactly what caused the problem in the first place and literally EVERY website I read about this skin rash said do NOT use steroid cream. Not to mention, you can't get through to actually talk to anyone. If you need to talk with a nurse or (in my case) need a referral for authorization from your insurance, you have to leave a message to which they never return your call. Maybe because they are so understaffed and overbooked. I had an appointment with a specialist but had to reschedule because they never submitted the request for the insurance! Now I can't get anyone to return my call! As soon as I can get this referral I am finding a new doctor. I would be afraid to take my dog to that place. Literally, the worst experience I have ever had with and doctor/ facility between me and all 3 of my children.
Went there maybe two weeks ago complaining of a sore throat, and a reddish rash on both of my arms.they gave me "preventive care" because apparently there was no infection in my throat as for the rash they said it was part of the virus i had...another week past i went back complaining my throat.was still hurting was also coughing up blood with my mucus witch i was when i went there the first time i might add, they give me allergy spray and a refferal to something in my nose this will be the third trip to the doctor within the month complaining of the same issue it got worse actually.some weird bumps started growing under my armpit so thanks to their "preventive care" my state has gotten worse...
Been going here for my entire life and so spent my entire life waiting. The reception is usually friendly but again they're so slow. The doctors have always been friendly though.
Dr . Prashant Sukhani is the best endodontist i have met . He goes more then out of his way to help his patients . He makes my son feel very comfortable considering what he is there for . This hospital should be proud to have such a person working for them .
Worst hospital and doctors not professional at all ! They just want to charge the insurance for nothing! They give me appointment and the doctor didn t show! Am so disappointed
I would give this hospital a zero if google would allow it. The maternity accommodations are absolutely horrific. The hospital is disgusting, everything is cheap quality. Staff is nice but not the sharpest tools in the shed. Nurses are great. Would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.
Brought my elderly mother to ER and she was very well taken care of. Eventually she was admitted for a three day stay. Found the new NYU Langone ER to be much better than the Brooklyn Maimonides ER.
Expect to wait 30-45 minutes past your appointment time to see your doctor. I've seen a specialist here twice, and both times I had a looong wait. Some oddities:
- people who arrive late for their appointment and after you will be seen before you.
- check in staff are aggressive and clipped. They demand that you use a biometric palm scanner, and when you ask if it's a requirement they get silent and don't answer.
- check in staff state they are unable to follow your physician's instructions. For example, I brought back a test a doctor wanted to see, to the desk he told me to bring it to, on the date he said to bring it. The staff said they had no way of getting the doctor the test results, have no place to store such things, and refused to accept the test results.
The specialty department is in desperate need of better management. The short- temper of the check in staff tells me they need more funding, better training, and a rock solid manager to both defend them and set higher expectations.
My two kids were delivered here. First one was 2016 spring. The hospital wasn t under new management yet. The experience was fine. I got a private room after labor for about $200 per night. I had good rest.
Second one was delivered two months ago. I have to say this hospital has gone bad after NYU took it. The labor room has two surgery lights. One of them was broken. So my doctor has to move my bed around to adjust the light during labor. And private room price is crazy now. $600 for the exact same room. I got a shared room this time. But for a two nights stay I had my next bed neighbor changed for 4 times. I don t know what happened to them but I was having a terrible rest during the stay. They even forgot to create a SSN for my newborn so I have to go to the office to create a file by myself. Really this hospital is doing nothing well but charge a lot!
Worst first impression. Called the main number and the receptionist transferred me to another line before I could finish speaking. She transferred me to patient information desk where the lady was nice enough, but seemed very anxious and unsure of what to do. Finally, I was transferred to the nurse's desk where no one answered and so, the call was disconnected. This happened TWO more times before finally someone picked up but she was unwilling to help. I asked her to please give me the phone number of my hospitalized relative's doctor, so my family could stay updated since we are currently unable to to visit. As far as we know, he remains in very critical condition. She said she was not able to because she'd have to go check the patient chart since she didn't have the information at hand. When i told her i could hold while she went to get the information i needed, she acted like it was an inconvenience and HUNG UP ON ME without another word. This hospital deserves every bad review it gets. These people don't care.
Poor. The nurse is very poor. Call the nurse to help. Call 10 times and ignore you. And they are straight in the chat. 3rd floor. 320x - especially bad. Can not imagine.
Not a good place no communication with patients... We were here for heart fib got bed at 940pm came in at 11am. No communication between labs and doctors doctors and patients...not clean and the patient was not asked if they needed anything to eat or drink
The young doctors there found my intestinal problems inform the Surgical doctors, I was in the operating room within 2 hours , so grateful for them, , , staff there also was so attentive,,, year later still going strong,, thank you so much Lutheran Hospital and staff....
Emergence Pediatrician Doctor Zero (0) Stars During the examination, sitting on the phone, the photo looks and he does not care what happened to the child some Luis J Gonzalez doctor... and their pressure apparatus does not work three times the baby s butt is stuck in to measure pressure ...
Worst hospital E.R ever. Doctors there are clueless and take for every to get to you and when they get you its 2 minutes and their gone again. The nurses where very helpful and more knowledgeable and precise then the doctors.
i was taken to Lutheran Hospital's Emergency Room Center after being mugged by a town car taxi driver. The staff was highly insensitive to the situation; not to mention that the lady with the Kool Aid bright red hair walked me to get a CAT scan and straight out implied that i tried to run from the taxi that was why my face was lacerated. I stopped dead in my tracks stared at her and instead of being upset i felt extremely sorry for that kool-aid cheap weave wearing Nurse, clearly she was educated and trained to be a nurse but she lacked empathy and as i perceived was jaded to the individuals seeking medical attention at said facility. In my humble opinion my overall experience was horrible i have never been to a worse hospital in NYC, this hospital should really be more attentive to the way their customer service is being exercised if it plans to survive the many closures of Brooklyn Hospitals. On a plus note however, the Cat Scan Technician with the glasses was really kind and was the only individual that offered me a blanket the entire 5 hours i was there.
I wish theres 0 star for Dr Carlene Campbell Gal ! Rude and unprofessional ! Never explain anything and never wanted to hear her patient's problems when im there . Could be im an asian . 5 stars for The nurses and other worker . They were great and clean environment.
The labor and delivery department of NYU Langone Hospital is one of a kind! Beginning with the triage staff all through the mother and baby unit, every nurse is so kind, calm and nice. It looks like they put in a effort in hiring staff that understand a mother s needs at this time. The place is being renovated, new rooms are nice.
Went to ER back in April 2016, the admission department at the ER facilities helped me apply for Emergency Medicaid, fast forward to today, found out that it was not submitted!!!! Been calling Lutheran Hospital for the past 2 hours to get help... most of the time, I was on hold and Im still on the phone trying to get someone to help me to fix this issue and the phone has been ringing since.
If emergency is bad because they do not give you immediate attention and charge an eye for your face, The dental department is the worst that is always full of people dissatisfied with the service, the receptionists attend reluctantly and despotamente the truth is a pain of head to get an appointment and to attend you politely.
My mother was in hospital with bad neck pain but the didn t do MRI. They say she need to go to her doctor and she will give her prescription for MRI. And they let my mother go home with pain. My mother didn t sleep all night because pain and she still have pain. They say it s mussel but it not mussel, it s her neck. Pain going from neck to the back and hands.
This hospital has one of the best ER staff ever seen. Fast diagnosis and treatment. I shouldn't name names but they help me and my family with a tough decision regarding end of life and I am eternally grateful. Their hospice staff is also amazing. They took care of everything even at the end. God bless.
the ER is a disaster, this is the second time i go there, took my baby, even though there was almost nobody waiting but it took all night to deal with an infection the lab results(blood and urine) took forever, the pharmacy took about 2hours or more and this if you complain every 30mn, for a baby in pain, thank`s to doctor thomas wallach and nurse susan barberi who did their best to get us out on reasonable time.i think the hospital should take some steps forward to fix these bureaucratic issues and take care of patients a decent way.
We came here cause about my wife water broken , Everything was good, but a black lady, did Everything like angry. Forgot her name, I will tell my friend to change to others. This is a bad affect for my future to face to black people. Let us felt uncomfortable ...
Never never will I ever come here again I would Literally rather have a stranger take care of me that be taken care of by these so call professionals let s say this doctor Somona Pathak, MD Was the worst most condescending and rude person ever. What this hospital needs is training on customer service !!!
I came to the hospital after breaking my wrist. It took a bit of time before someone brought me in to be reviewed by a doctor. Once in with the doctor they re-set my hand to my wrist and gave me something for the pain. My experience was beginning to get better until they sent some inexperienced doctor to come over and review my hand. Without my consent he arranged for me to go up to see the surgeon and have him work on my wrist. He said it was my best option so that I could attain at least 75% function of my wrist/hand. I refused and he was clearly agitated that I wanted to seek a second opinion. I left the hospital with pain killers arranged for a consultation from a third party specialist and he provided a clear set of options. None of which included surgery. My wrist and hand are now stronger than ever without the need of "emergency" surgery.
Front desk receptionist or whatever this blonde human being is with lip injections is completely rude and careless. Doesn't know how to be polite. How could she even work there. This is the second time I have a bad experience with this person. Horrible and disgusted.
DO NOT I REPEAT DOOOO NOT GO TO WOMEN'S HEALTH ACROSS THE STREET very UNPROFESSIONAL how are you supposed to be a OBGYN meanwhile you got your ASSISTANT doing all the work for you smh pathetic. THEN mind you they had me waiting almost 3 hours to Just tell me i cant do a sonogram "because we dont have that technology here" MEANWHILE there was that specific machine in the other room. I want LUTHERAN back.
I've heard a lot of bad things about the ER here but I'm glad I didn't have one of those experience. The PA and the doctor were really attentive and caring. The nurses on the other hand can be a little forgetful and forget to get your lab report. The entire trip took around 4 hours and the wait wasn't as bad as I thought.
Very outdated dirty rooms. I had to request to see a surgeon for 7 hours continuously after surgery, and I was initially discharged without any paperwork or instructions. On top of that, I'm unable to schedule an appt with my surgeon for a follow-up. Please save yourself the headache and avoid this hospital at all costs.
Least favorite hospital. Not only is the service here HORRIBLE, but the claimed to have put my broken bone back in place - only to later find out that they did not and it was too late. Bone had to be re-broken MONTHS later at another specialst.
My father recently stood here for 7 days. The hospital is so dirty! Ever since NYU Langone took over, they made SERIOUS cuts. No one comes around with a mop or a broom. His room was disgusting and was not cleaned once! The shower was moldy - the bathroom was horrible.
One star for the fact that my amazing doctor works there. But other then that this is just about as bad as Killer County.
Go with your gut - and head to Methodist. Even Coney Island is better then here!
Arrived ED at 2:15 AM inside a room more like hallway by 2:30. Finally officially in a room and hour later. It is now 4:15 AM and still waiting to be seen by a doctor. Was told at 3AM that doctor was busy with an emergency. I asked if there is only one doctor and was told yes. Really!!! One doctor to see all these patients in an overcrowded ER!! Unacceptable. NYU you need to step up. All I see around me is patients. At times no employees around. Definitely haven t seen any doctors walking around
I DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT LONG AT THE EMERGENCY - I GOT A ROOM REALLY FAST - THE NURSES, THE PCT AND NELLIE WHO BRINGS THE FOOD TRAYS ON THE 5TH FLOOR ARE REALLY ANGELS AND HAVE A HEART FOR ITS PATIENTS - IF YOU REALLY NEED TO GO TO A HOSPITAL IN BROOKLYN - GO TO NYU LANGONE LUTHERAN HOSPITAL IN BROOKLYN - NEVER GO TO MAIMONDES HOSPITAL IN BOROUGH PARK, BROOKLYN - IT IS A CRAPPY PLACE - - SINCERELY HONESTLY - MR. A
UPDATE: I started going to Columbia University and they have a sense of humanity and a lovely competent staff. A wonderful nurse who I chatted with about medicine (we're both med students) also recommended Weill Cornell.
I used to praise NYU for being the best. For the past two years, they have gone to the dumps. esp. this recent handing out Doctors their name like candy. I used to go because they were very specific about who they would allow under their umbrella, and rightfully so.
I have gone to 2 PCPs for a pain I have had for 4 months that I ignored because I was going to medical school myself. Not once was I offered antibiotics, which, is already questionable.
So far, I found an amazing old school OB/GYN on ZocDoc who checked my ovaries and egg count without even asking! I asked an OB/GYN at NYU to check since I am 35 and around the age where risk gets higher to have kids -- her arrogant attitude + refusal to do so = ciao baby There is one good OB/GYN at NYU that I started to go to years ago (before this mess happened at NYU) but he barely has availability.
I am unclear if there is too much fear of lawsuits at NYU facilities that I cannot get anything as simple as an antibiotic. So, I will stick with old-fashioned doctors to avoid some scenarios, where, as I learned in medical school - that an individual could die or undergo severe injury if antibiotics are not administered based on symptoms before the lab results come in. I have Bell's Palsy and had a few recurrences so I am not taking that risk. Lab results are a handicap to this facility, do doctors at this facility know how to diagnose an individual by mere symptoms at NYU Langone? I already knew all I needed were antibiotics so I'm not sure what is going on with this organization (or disorganization for that matter) but I'm not going to have a severe problem based on whatever the heck is going on lately. I am leaving NYU and searching for more independent, perhaps a bit run down facility but full of heart, something NYU has lost.
I was in Brooklyn hanging out with a friend when I started to not feel well. I was in Industry City so I went to the ER at NYU. I live close to Cornell in Manhattan and had been there many years ago. After what I experienced, I have a greater appreciate for Cornell.
I could not believe how awful my experience was at NYU -- greeted by smokers at the ER door, rude people at the front desk, and doctors and nurses who just ignored you. One of the doctors refused to give a patient near me access to an interpreter. Watching that patient cry as she grew increasingly frustrated was so awful. I tried to complain about it to someone. They sent someone to talk to me. At first I thought this must be a joke because surely the staff in charge of customer service couldn't be this socially awkward. It all devolved from there and got worse.
I guess they can get away with treating people so poorly because of the community they serve. My advice to everyone, do yourself a favor and respect yourself enough to go to Methodist or come into the city for good care.
Pessimistic and traumatic experience. If you have another option, don't come here. I have 3 days in this place and still do not have a clear diagnosis.
Lutheran Medical Center is an awesome hospita.l i don't care what the other reviews say , this one of the best hospitals in all of Brooklyn , clean environment , staff friendly , and they are usually quick ...
My father was in the ICU and was treated with care, respect, and dignity. He s a difficult patient and the entire staff that I had contact with throughout the three days I was there was wonderful. I am very appreciative of the fine job they all have done. Thank you!
I am a family member of Donna Earl. I just want to say this hospital from the trauma team on the fourth floor and rehab team on the 3rd team saved my sisters life and continued to fight for her to regain her ability to live a normal life. God bless the Doctors, nurses, therapist and the staff
Watch out for the staff. If you leave your stuff in YOUR room someone will steal it and they will say they are not responsible for their thieving staff members.
The hospital is good and most of the workers are great. There might be one or two that are lazy which make the place look bad. But, Most are amazing, very helpful, Dr. Raymond B. Walsh is one of the best surgeon. I have met some amazing nurses.
My daughter was born here. Decently friendly staff. However, it took 2 MONTHS to get a birth certificate and when it arrived, both our names (my wife and I) were wrong!! So frustrating!
First time visit and I have been waiting for 2 hours now. Awful, not sure how long do I need to wait. Dr. Kin Kong was called for an emergency per nurses but I truly am not sure what is going on here.
My mom was rushed there with congestive heart failure straight from her doctor's office. She was assigned Dr. Leon Rosenkranz who has to be one of the most egocentric people I've ever had the misfortune to meet. My mom had a cardiologist whom she did not wish to see again thanks to his ordering a stress test for her at age 87 that nearly killed her just because he'd purchased a used MRI machine for his office and wanted to jack up his fee. Unfortunately he was affiliated with Lutheran and good ol' Rosenkranz immediately called him in on her case. She refused to see him and asked for another cardiologist. Rosenkranz had the gall to argue with her right there in the ER, calling her a foolish old lady. He raised his voice so much that other ER docs had to tell him to cool it, that mom was within her rights to ask for someone else if that was her decision.
We waited two days for a bed under those conditions and it was a nightmare. But the worst was yet to come. Six months later, mom stopped breathing early one morning back at home. I checked on her when I woke up and went to the kitchen to start on breakfast. When I'd got back to her room just a few minutes later, I found her soaked with sweat, face black, eyes red and half-opened, not breathing and no pulse. After calling 911 and performing CPR as instructed, I managed to revive mom and took her to Lutheran again.
Same doctor, brand new nurse that I'd never met before and the experience was even worse than before. Mom had some minor personality changes due to her ordeal. She was a bit aggressive, fought with me to try and get up from the bed when she couldn't due to being a fall risk. I called for help. No one came. She talked out loud in her sleep, full conversations, something she'd never done before. At times she'd be confused about who I was and where she was. I needed to speak with a nurse/doctor/someone. But when I called, she wouldn't come. I ran the halls to try and track her down but when I did, she said she hadn't eaten all day and this was her break. I begged her to speak with me and she just shut the door in my face.
Her doctor, the infamous Rosenkranz, was equally obnoxious in that the following day when he visited my mom in her room, he snatched some papers she had been reading (the Patient's Rights guide) and threw them down on the bed. "What are you reading that for? You're the one who knows her rights well enough without them, aren't you?"
NEVER AGAIN! Any other time I've had to take my mom to the hospital I've always flat out said NOT LUTHERAN!
This used to be a decent hospital. Back on September 2018, my father was admitted here and the social worker/billing department made every attempt to get my father to overcharge for my father's stay and not cooperate in assisting in finding a nursing home for him.
Even after my family told the billing department the change of address and power of attorney, they decided to refuse cooperating with my family to pay the outstanding balance and send a collection agency after my father.
Ever since NYU took over, the hospital became garbage and the staff uncaring and/or incompetent.
I can complain the service given to me it s always been great they save my life a few times , great staff and great doctors thanks to all . Couldn t ask for more . Happy Holidays
the radiologist. JENNIE CHANG was very rude, unhelpful when I was getting my scans. She rushed me to change into garments for the scan I've scheduled. I had a bad back and cannot do quick swing-arounds with my arm. I asked for some assistance and largely ignored for my requests. never again with this place
The center needs more doctor availability. If someone is dealing with a worsening condition or infection, waiting 4 to 5 months for the next appointment is unacceptable. This would only leave the emergency room as the alternative.
Best service I have ever received from a hospital and especially from Victoria and Winnie from Respiratory Augustana. I walked in this hospital with it being my last hope to take a rapid covid-19 test so that I could travel. Victoria helped me right away and the service was fast and easy. Once again I want to thank the NYU Langone Hospital for their great service!
Today was my very very bad day what I have had in my life, in this morning I was running on the Shore parkway boardwalk close to the Verrazano bridge, what I usually do every Sunday, but today was exception day, the one guy hit me on the bike, I don't know how this supposed to be happened but he drove bike very fast I could feel with my back I just fell forward and flipped over, I had terrible pains from the neck till legs, especially my back, I just was laying couldn't understand what is happening those time, then I asked the man call a ambulance, they came took care of me till we arrived NYU langone health hospital in the Brooklyn, when we came there they put me some of the rooms where I was waiting half one hour , after that the doctor came to me asked me few questions I told him everything what I felt that moment I said I have still pain on my neck, back, leg and also open cut on my hand was bloody, he began to touch me very strongly and tough even my open cut hand, I said to him please be careful I have a pain, then he stopped, but it's ok!!! He does he is job, but unprofessional.... like a he don't figure out what is happening with me, then they sent me to Xray to take a pictures all my injuries, there is was nice lady she was very kindly and respectful with me , after that when she was done, they are leaved me at a corridor were was very cold because the air conditioner was above of me, I asked the nurse give it to me a blanket, I lay the for an hour, then they moved me to the room when I was in first time, after that the doctor came to me and he said wait me 30 min I need to get a results then I'll come back, which is ok, but then he came to me and said you're ok good to go!!! I thought excellent, but what about my open cut, I asked him will someone wrap my hand and knees, he's said ok, he just wrapped my hand and said you can go, he didn't make any disinfection and cleaning from the bacterias from my hand and leaved me like that, that's was weird. I think it's unprofessional either he didn't want to take care of me. I don't know... I just wanted leave from there and go home. I just arrived my home that's another story because I left all my money and wallet at home, because I went for a running in this morning. This is notice for other patients who is wants to go there be aware and pay attention who cares of you and ask them any questions what they gonna do or not! I was first time there I guess its bad experience I guess I'll never come back again to there. Thanks God for saving me! I'll take care of me by myself! Here is a pictures for the argument!
Went to the emergency room and they took me in right away. When I shared that I was uninsured they pointed out their clinic and made sure that my emergency room visit was covered so I wouldn't have to worry. Very helpful and knowledgable and I felt very much taken care of by the staff.
The the front desk at the emergency room move with no urgency whatsoever and when you come there they don t acknowledge you. you meaning me in my experience. I was taken to a room with a dirty exam bed and it took them 30 mins to change the sheets while they had me sit on a hard chair who at the time was suffering from the flu. Took an hour to get me a urine sample so I could start treatments all to be told that I could ve just taken Robitussin and Tylenol. The people that answer the phones are beyond incomprehensible and ignorant. You re working at the hospital to HELP people. YOU took the time out of your years to go to get the sergers and certifications needed for such a job, the only thing we owe you is information that s it. Act like you want to work and help people or go down to McDonald s and fill out that application.
I also have means to file a lawsuit against this hospital due to a visit where a diagnosis was preventable but a doctor was lazy and racist and rude.
Staff was nice, but lots of stars removed for the really rundown and antiquated in-patient rooms (4th floor at least). Very used beds, scratched up walls and flooring, and shared occupancy in a room no bigger than a standard NYC bedroom. If you have to stay in the NYU system, don't make this mistake and head to Tisch in Manhattan instead.
Terrible hospital, they made me wait 5 hours after the Anastasia had wore out but kept giving me strong pain medication before helping me to walk. The staff there seems so busy that they forget or maybe doesn t read the patients charts that they are supposed read before sending me home. I had TLIF L4l5 spine surgery. When I decided to have the surgery they said I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days. In the recovery room they say that the doctor said for me to go home the same days. After being in terrible pain ,and with the taught that I would be walking pain free. I was too dizzy to even stand. Then the nurse says that I have to go home and if anything happens I should come back to the ER. I m still understand Anastasia and shaking with confusion and disbelieve of what was happening in the recovery room finally after complaining the doctor comes and change my medication to non drowsy pain meds. That s when I was able to walk but I still decided to stay one night and go home in the morning. When I got to the room 4 hours after the nurse there said I cannot get the same medication so she give me another kind of medication which did not work. So all night I was in excruciating pain and could not sleep till morning. I hadn't ate anything all day and I m being feed all kinds of medication on an empty stomach. So with the pain being 10 I had to fight for something to change. Finally a new medication and it s working I can go to the bathroom and feel some relief. The nurses there act like the patient are a problem and that it is a bother for them if a patient call too many times. When morning come they offer me no breakfast and the same for lunch. Very poor treatment and sadly it is a bad experience for me. I wrote this review to make known that this is not a third world country and a hospital that carries the name NYU should be better than that. Very disappointed and will never go back or recommend anyone there
Most of the reviews on Lutheran are negative, much of it is about the ER. You would think the hospital would care enough about their image and revamp the staff to behave in a professional, empathetic manner befitting healthcare providers. This hospital has been overwhelmed since Victory shut down. A loss that I still cannot get over.
