The best hospital in Brooklyn. People here is caring and compassionate.
My ER experience was like stepping into a bad Lifetime movie. After some time spent trying to resolve a billing complaint (+ patient care issues), with the hospital, I have forwarded my case to the Attorney General and the State Department for review.
They don t care ! Told my wife (u have to leave at 10am ) now 12:37 and no body come to take our baby to the car
Recently got there for low back pain. Most of the stuffs aren't helpful and responsible though a few good ones. Terrible experience. Worst hospital experience. They are nowhere near even a normal hospital.
Long wait time in the ER, and i had a 2month 3/4 baby, called for the lab test results many times and left voicemails and no respone from them,
3.weeks.later they responded just so i can an appointment for my baby smh!!!! unprofessional and for a newborn baby
ER sucks/ oh yes they r good initially but after that the nurses just walk around with their coffee as patient's scream in pain etc
I have been coming to this hospital for more than 35 years The dental dept is a joke i waited thre hours and rewuested a tooth filled everytime i go there they are always pulling out my teeth i wsnt having it this time So i paud fir them to do nothing and now i am on a sliding scale and have been paying the same price for years now they said if i dont provide a marriage certificate i will be refused medical assistance really i have heart problems and my husband us diabetic meanwhile 90 percent of their patients dont speak a word of english they have medicaid or pay minimum payment we are a household of 5 ob one salary i am raising my grandchildren We provided documents and they were refused So now we have to pay $40 a visit not including any testing i am billed constantly and i feel as if becayse i am white and speak perfect engish that i get to pay more Very nice way to treat people that have been coming to this place for as long as i have
This place sucks this my second time and my last one, seems like they're just trying to get rid of you fast, first time they told me they don't give nothing for the pain other than Tylenol,..I can do that on my own,and now they couldn't do anything for my ear problem, they look like they were angry at something.. Forget it no good!!
Great ER staff! Was able to figure out my issue and so fast. Previous day spent 8 hours in Methodist for them to do nothing.
Amazing ER staff that help us thru an end of life decision. Very capable staff.
Really dislike this hospital, they really need to do better. The wait is horrible as well. I spend 5 hours waiting with stomach pain and no doctor available, come to find out the nurse didn t even put my name on the list. I had to keep reminding them that I had been waiting since 8: 30 am, just horrible experience.
Other than Kings county, this is the next best choice.
They are really slow! I had to spent 5 hours waiting, with 2 children and my wife. After 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting I tried to talk to someone that could help, he said he would, but he didnt. I continued waiting and waiting. Every procedure takes more and more time. I hope I never have to come back.
One of the worse after Brookdale. .city should look at the staff they rude n lazy
Worst hospital experience ever. My father was I'll, and in attempts to pump out as much money from them as they could. They ran unnecessary test. The employees at the front desk of the emergency entrance were no help. They only want one visitor at a time. And any questions I or a family had was immediately dismissed. Any attempts to try and communicate with the employees was followed with shrugs and IDGAF attitude. Not a place to bring a loved one.
I was here for a small procedure. The staff was friendly. They made me feel more at ease. I had to stay a while after for recovery and I felt like the staff actually cared. I didn't feel like a statistic at all. That should be the norm and not the exception.
This hospital is understaffed and basic medical tools like ultrasound and CAT scan machines are so few that patients may have to wait over a day for a routine scan, even in an emergency.
There is no respected delivery in this place, they don't know what that is, they treat the patient like a guinea pig, she is an Indian. Since most of the users are Hispanic, they think that one is ignorant and it is not. I was disappointed with the treatment doctors give and do to suffer women I say it for myself and for other cases that I have heard.
Best network rated hospital
Based on a year of personal experience going back and forth from different hospitals (mt Sinai, Presbyterian, NYU).
In the beginning I really believed the official ratings of best hospital networks in NYC (#1 Presbyterian, #2 mt Sinai, #3 NYU), but after having a loved one undergo internal bleeding recovery for more than a year and staying in all three network hospitals, our conclusion is #1 is NYU, #2 is mt Sinai and #3 is Presbyterian hospital. We came across many apathetic surgeons and doctors in Mt Sinai and Presbyterian hospital, medical professionals who entirely threw their doctors oath out the window and entirely gave up on my loved ones complicated case. It seems the physicians at those two networks either cared about money too much or their reputation (as the case would be very difficult to follow and would require dedicated doctors), silently scrubbing the patient under the carpet even to the point of denying surgical wound checkup followup appointments!
After being denied followup appointments by mt Sinai s head of surgery Dr. Devino and given up by Presbyterian s Queens surgeon, Dr. Chun, we kept looking for dedicated doctors and surgeons who would take her case and help her as any human being should, we found NYU s network doctors who were interested in her case and are currently helping her with wound care, surgery, and even pain management. Where Mt Sinai and Presbyterian fully gave up and abandoned a very ill patient, The NYU medical professionals came to treat her, Gi dr.Serouya and Surgeon, dr.Sinha.
As far as for the hospital in the location, the wait times are very fast and they process the patient twice as fast as Presbyterian, Cornell. The nurses are always very helpful and every visit is a benefit, not a rejection or a waste of time as the other two hospitals I mentioned. Keep up the good work.
We live in Oregon and my daughter goes to school in Brooklyn. She had to have her appendix removed on October 20 and the care she received was excellent! And even though she is over 18, Dr. Schwed called me once her surgery was over to let me know how everything went. This was greatly appreciated since we were so far way. Outstanding hospital!
My grandfather was in for procedure. They didn't give food to prepare for the procedure then didn't do it. This repeatedly several times througout his stay along with inattentive nurses and staff. Don't go to this hospital if u can avoid it
Was admitted on april 16, 2018. Was operated on same morning. All went well....nurses and aides were great...no complaints about anything during stay.
Worst experience ever!!!
My mom just had a surgery by Dr. Levin. He is a wonderful doctor and person! He did the surgery, called me to let me know how it went, came to visit my mom - did all a good doctor can do!!! Thank you Doctor Levin,
But, than the ordeal starts: The rooms are small and air free and dirty. My mom needed the machine that helps her circulation - no machine for 2 days. To sit her up in a chair - we had to go and yell at the nurses. Finally, on the 5th day they set her up in a chair and in 2 hours I got a call that the doctors discharged her. "She is good to go to a rehab" And you know why, just because the Medicare and Medicaid doesn't pay much.
The day my mom had the surgery, my husband came over to the recovery room and fainted (because we were in Mexico and he got the severe case of diarrhea and dehydration). He was wheeled in to the ER, they did all the tests and ruled out heart attack, but wanted to do an Echo Cardiogram to make sure. He stayed there for more than 24hrs - it was not done. He went home, but fainted again. Back at the emergency room - all the same procedures, but ended up lying on a stretcher in the ER for more than 2 days. I spoke to the nurses, head nurse, patient's representative, doctors - they didn't want to sign him out as they wanted the Echo Cardiogram done, and it just took over 3 days and my yelling at his doctor in front of a bunch of students to get him out of that place and the Echo still has not been done!!! Is that crazy or what? Just because my insurance pays well, they milk it any way they can!!! The whole experience there is very frustrating! I wish I never get to see this hospital again!!! I hope they shut it down instead of many more decent hospitals that were shot down in Brooklyn.
I have to agree with the rest of the negative reviews about their emergency room.I don t even know where to start from... from the doctors that don t even spend a minute with you, to the nurses that are too busy joking around amongst themselves. Let s just say I won t be going back there.
One of the best delivery hospital and lap there is really great
If you value your life and health try your best to avoid this so called hospital. They will neglect you and make your family miserable till you die. That is what happened to my father in law and my wife s family and now happening to my father and our family all over again.
I was on observation for 24 hours the doctor's and staff on 5700 were amazing specially RN Laurence very nice respectful and attentive, thanks for everything.
Terrible service waited for an entire day till receive information that was already known keeping my family member waiting patient.
Great hospital, quality care, and good nurses. Clinic staff is great and wait times are not very long. Hospital staff is courteous and helpful overall making for a good experience.
I truly admired the care they give .To my very special team Claire Kiefer, Dr Denigris, Ms. Deppia, Dr volupe, Dr.Ngo, and everyone at sunset Terrance who've help me over the years I love you all.
Mrs Karen Berry.
Horrible people horrible place if you hare in pain, they don't care at all, very disappointed with the horrible service.
Nothing just like all your bad reviews live in the naborhood my hole life your staff sucks the DOCTORS A FEW ARE GOOD AND ANY WHO WORK Here keep their eyes closed
Dental service is good (room 2201)
Doctors are good and qualified
Waiting time is horrible
Their First come, First Serve service is inadequate. People walk in and get seen before some of the people waiting ahead of them before.
My nurse in recovery, whose name I unfortunately can't recall right now, was amazing and she made sure that someone was looking after me when she had to go on break; but just listening to the whole staff in recovery, they were so helpful with each other. Everyone here worked so well as a team that I never languished for attention. Admins, nurses, orderlies, doctors, every one I encountered just had great attitudes and were very helpful and made my situation feel not as terrible.
Fair Service. My mother had surgery done and then was basically the guinea pig from time to time when she had blood work done. Certain personnel did not know how to get a vein so use your imagination. Certain RNs were wonderful others were nowhere to be found. The Docs that operated on her did their rounds and were attentive. The maintenance crew were either decent or nowhere to be found either. Luckily my dad and I were picking up after everyone.
Overall mixed review but its never a good idea to stay at a hospital longer than a week. With that being said Im not satisfied with the work ethic of certain RNs, technicians or maintenance. I was born in Lutheran but I prefer to die in the street.
First I would like to say Dr Walsh is a great hip surgeon and he deserves 5 stars
6 nurses 2 were great and 4 were horrible. But none of them distribute your meds on time. Timing of meds is important, when came off anesthesia, the nurse waited way to long and I was having 10 pain for an hour. After a defacating accident by a patient in my room took them 4 hours before they cleaned. There is a nurse here named Selena. She is pretty poison. She screwed up the whole nurses station because she was so slow. Over an hour late with meds, and you could see how stressed she is and I heard her talking about
Me to her Filipina nurse friends. Then they started gossiping. Unfortunately I understand words in Tagalog.
This is without a doubt the worst food I have ever had. Just disgusting. Everything always cold. How do you mess up chicken fingers? In chewable.
Previously I have had so many problems with scheduling, doctors leaving. 3 months for an ear nose and throat appt after my doctor left langone.
Management has no pride, only bottom line and try to rush you out fast with as few meds as possible.
I asked to see patient relations, never came. Only interested in covering their asses. Outpatient surgery ok. If you have to stay select somewhere else.
Got here at 1:00 in the afternoon. Still waiting to get a CT scan and in pain. It's going downhill fast!
My dad was unfortunately admitted here after the ambulance/EMT lied to me saying that other hospitals were full and that they couldnt take him to a closer one. I went inside to try and find my dad and the workers at the front desk at the emergency room were extremely rude. There were multiple workers there but there was only one person helping people out and he was of no help. After given clearance to enter and try and find my dad, I'm stopped because I dont have a pass and THEN I'm told that I'm required to have a pass to travel around. Please DO NOT take your loved ones here, they do not care about helping their patients, they are only money hungry and will make their patients take unnecessary scans over and over again.
If I could give this hospital a 0 star rating I would. I went here 3 times for breathing problems and they gave me no medicine. I went here the 3rd time for vomiting, liquid diarrhea and breathing problems and they gave me nothing. I would have rather traveled to Manhattan to get better care.
If you have a kid complaining of pain, well avoid their emergency at all cost, they will only make it worse and give you discharge papers while giving you a lame reason that it's your kids fault. What??!! If I could I would sue the hell out of them crooks
It s an old and run down facility. Desecent doctors but HORRIBLE staff. Instead of caring for the patient, the staff excels at chit chatting with one another and FaceTiming family members!!! You have to ask over and over again for the same thing which turns into hours worth. Their responses are ok, one minute but NEVER come back. There are lots of lackadaisical attitudes and don t even think about asking any type of questions! They may actually have to do their job!!! Most nurses were uninformed while taking care of you. LOOK AT THE CHART get info before entering and tending to the patient. Have any questions about your specific surgery or condition?! Well here s their answer I don t know . Nice, right!? If you dont stay on top of the nurses it s like entering at your own risk. I will say we did have one amazing, caring, hardworking nurse in the anesthesia recovery room...Chita C.!!! Also, the surgery room doctors made you feel at ease and who seem to take pride in what they do. Unfournately, the compliments stop there. Can t believe this place operates the way it does with a name like NYU attached to it.
The maternal fetal medicine dept here insisted on inducing me completely unnecessarily 2 weeks early (based on paperwork, not on an exam of any kind, and against the opinion of my doctors) which lead to 50 hours of labor and a c section. They wrote on my charts that I had medical conditions I didn t have and were surprised when I corrected them, every nurse coming in had misinformation (like they were trying to convince me I had an epidural when I didn t) and they thought that it was ok to prevent me from eating for three days while pregnant and enduring their inductions. They told me it was imperative I have the baby right away (it wasn t) and my doctor made them at least let me go home and get my bag. When I got back they made me wait for 3 hours in the cafe. Doesn t sound like an emergency to me. Postpartum nurses woke me and my baby up regularly and unnecessarily at all hours for random things like weighing her (2 am), PKU test (3am) and when we asked to sleep a few hours they told us we were trying to break NY law by not getting the tests they require (we weren t, we just needed sleep). I got 3 hours of sleep in my five day stay and left one day post op because I couldn t stand to be there anymore. Give birth elsewhere.
They are taking care of patients so good. They are answering all your questions. Doctors, nurses, security was great. But I wish they would put more comfortable couch in waiting room for ICU department. Cafeteria is really good, food is so good. Thank you. Best hospital.
My grandpa went to the ER due to high degree fever and abnormal pains around the abdomen. The nurse didn t check grandpa s room for more than 1 hours. Some of the ER nurses were chatting instead of taking care of patient. The security person shows no respect to visitors because they just want to kick people s ass out of ER when visitors were trying to watch after their family. A few days ago, my grandma went to the Long-island hospital, which it was SO MUCH better, professional and respectful to the patients and visitors.
I had rectal surgery a month ago performed by Dr Gadangi. I was told it would be painful and the post surgery certainly was. But 3 weeks after leaving the hospital I was running again!
Between the time I was diagnosed and operated on: 6 weeks. Pretty good for NYC.
Dr Gadangi may not be the most talkative and "sweet" person but he is certainly a great surgeon. Thank you!
I'm an 1 and a half commute from the hospital they called in a RX on discharge. (Sunday). The next morning went to my local pharmacy to get filled and they don't have it in liquid. I don't need it in liquid but they can't change with out DR approval. They call the doc. They are on hold an hour and a half. They are told the dr is making rounds and will be with them soon. I finally give up and make the 1.5 hr commute to the hospital to get this fixed. Turns out the dr is not even in today and no one bothered to check this. I talked to 3 nurses and they were trying to get a doc on call to fix it. 44 min later the doc talks to me and turns out the original RX was WRONG! Is I could give a zero for customer service I would. I have never been in such a poor medical facility from a process/service perspective including hospitals outside the US.
Both my parents were taken in for a stroke at different times. I'm comparing to other hospitals (NYU, Columbia) and no comparison. LMC did not handle any of their strokes in an appropriate manner. Do not go to LMC for a stroke. Go somewhere else. The stroke center needs tremendous improvement. Very disappointed.
GREAT PLACE, ITS ONLY GETTING BETTER WITH THE TAKER OVER BY NYU Langone
ALL TIME WORST PLACE EVER! You call the "Operator" and they don't even transfer you to the proper department, they tell you the last for numbers of the department you're trying to reach, and hang up! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Have dealt with a lot of people in the medical records department, THE ULTIMATE WORST EXPERIENCE, and with people in the Radiology Department, ITS SHOCKING HOW UNPROFESSIONAL THEY ARE! If they treat everyone this way, I do not understand how they run this center. Its a health center, and their costumer service people should be picked more wisely!
One of my family members is dealing with a chronic health issue, so we have been in and out of many hospitals in Brooklyn over the past few months. I can say without a doubt that this is the worst hospital in Brooklyn, and possibly the worst hospital in all of New York. Literally go anywhere else, even Coney Island Hospital will treat you with more respect.
The doctors here care more about avoiding lawsuits than they do about treating people. They will blame you for any failures in their own treatment under the pretense of avoiding legal blame. Facilities are mediocre, and communication between "teams" treating you is completely nonexistent. We had to repeat details about past treatment (medicine regimen) several times a day, every single day of my relative's stay there.
I am not sure if this is because they are incompetent or because of a lack of trust. But this is endemic to how they treat people in this hospital - no trust, no respect, and often, with outright hostility.
And unrelated to the atrocious staff at this hospital, most of the hospital resides in a cellphone deadzone. Want to call your sick relatives at the ICU? Good luck with that.
When I go for my check up I get there 1 hour earlier and end up leaving faster, especially in the morning.
Nice people but the waiting in emergency room is ridiculous. They give you no idea of how long for tests, xrays, etc. With the affordable care act they are making money...management is just too greedy....update...it is now a nightmare...10 hours in ER...3 hours now waiting for bed. My advice, go somewhere else....Update to update...getting discharged is just as bad...6 hours and waiting. The nurses and doctors are great..they need new management here. ..until then, avoid this place.
I scheduled two appointments and was there fifteen minutes early. They didn't get me in for an hour and a half and I ended up missing the first appointment. They seem overbooked and a bit disorganized.
Clean, hospitality is a breathe of fresh aire. Overall great experience
I was born in this hospital the doctor and nurses were all nice and friendly to me and my mom
The nurse who did the exray for my child today was so bad when i asked her some questios because my girl is diabetic . she said are u a doctor? she gave me attitude i hope i will never met her in this hospital but am not saying that all of the nurses are bad. but like that person i've never met before. she must learn how to behave with parents who ask for s thing .that's her job
terrible er i came twice for trouble breathing they didn't gave me nebulizer until 2 hours later not even the ambulance didn't gave me any oxygen and diff. ppl asking the same questions plus at the end i told them i need nebulizer medicine they didn't want give me any and i told them that is what is helping me and i told them i need the machine they gave me nebulizer med but not the machine i felt i was in 3rd world country plus the guards act its north korea not even to head to the bathroom i was bring asked where i am going what is this school i need a pass slip and the food court i feel very odd that everyone is mexican working there not one american i saw working there i am pretty sure some or all are illegal and for the gift shop they watch you like a dog without blinking like if you got no money and you going to steal and they sell balloons but you can't take them up due to hospital rules the store should have a sign up before buying them and the hospital should tell them to put a sign and let ppl know they hold your balloons like as hostage i have seen them by the elevator for months the same ones until the air goes out and for the patient rooms i don't think they mop or disinfect the chairs and door knobs ect because i tested it with the wipes and it was dirty i had to ask a cleaner to mop the floor because it smells like urine and he told me to let him know anything i get it done right away its like saying let him know so not anyone else know cause i don't want others to know i don't clean terrible place
ER for kids is worst pkace to bring kids. My son fell at home and get a cut on right side of forehead. We brought him to ER around 645PM. They made us wait till 1030 to close his wound with 4 stiches. On PA & Nurse did work, No doctor even came to see him & they send my insuramce $5800 bill. This hospital just robbing people....
More an hour for doctors see my kids but after second form you coming the billing woman come for see the what insurance you have and taking the signature
The nurse Liz in triage had a nasty attitude I m well aware of the hippa policy however when I asked for at least an extension number to triage she said call the main line and figure it out I have to go could not give even a minute of her time, so I was given a run around from ext to ext to get back in touch in triage when I could ve been answered the first time or given and ext if she had to go
iI love this care care! Staff is very caring and professional. There s a mat on their floor that says something like walk in, be seen, go home and they really do live up to those words. Very fast, highly recommend
After a nightmare experience in an other Hospital my father had his gallbladder removed from Dr.Ferzli.
From the first visit until my fathers discharge we experienced proficiency, dedication and affection from Dr. Ferzli and his team.
Thank you so much!
It's a very good place to eat and a professional service is done by the workers
