I've eaten a lot of pizza all over this country and recently I've come to the conclusion that the Chicago Classic at Lou Malnati's is quite simply, the best pizza I've ever had. It's simple, it's filling, it's amazing. If you want a good pizza, you can't go wrong.

Love Lou's and this is a meeting point for me & my suburban friends. We usually get their sausage deep dish but when we get a thin crust, i try to ask for "pie cut" so i get triangles with crust on every slice instead of squares.

A great stay with an excellent host. We called ahead to have them start making the pizza since they don't take reservations. When we arrived we had a drink at the bar and then a short wait for the table. The food came out perfectly about 5-10 minutes after we were seated. The pizza and appetizer were great as was the wine. The server was personable and excellent. The only negative is the parking here. Otherwise a great time - when I get back to Chicago I'd definitely come back.

Always great thick and thin crust pizzas and salads at this, the original location. Buttercrust, sausage as a thick slab or crumbled, all other ingredients fresh and plentiful. My mouth waters with the memories.

Service has always been excellent.

The standard by which other Chicago pizza restaurant chains are to be judged. I could happily live on Lou's and Giordano's for the rest of my life and keep my cardiac physicians living comfortable lives.

Also, their alcohol selection and bartenders are at the top of their class.

I ordered the 14 inch thin crust with 5 toppings, the mushrooms seemed to come from a can, the very small type, couldn't see the onions, sausage was scarce and didn't taste like Italian sausage, sliced tomatoes were good. Price was 30 bucks; I thought it was ok pizza but nothing to rave about.

We often get carry out, but today dined in. It was good not only because of the food, but while we waited, they took our food order so we didn't have to wait so long for their terrific pizza.

Ridiculous, second issue with them and goes un resolved. Downtown and Palatine locations provide the best service.

I ordered and Italian beef and the au jus was pure oregano in flavor and completely inedible; it was purely bitter due to the oregano. called tocomplain and was offered 2 options. To remake or to give a gift card via mail. Being it was so late, I just wanted to sleep and accepted the gift card. Never came weeks later.

25 dollars tossed in the garbage. During this time you would anticipate them to honor their word and quality. Didn't happen. My husband wanted to order tonight and we recalled the incident from weeks ago and called and ordered Belonias in Albany Park instead.

When it is rectified, I will delete this.

Had bruschetta as an appetizer and obviously thin crust and deep dish as an on tray ! Food was delicious and the place was nice and clean. Service could be better. Our waitress didn't check on us but once. And that was towards the end of our dinner.

Their deep dish is great.

Their deep dish is great.
Salads are salty but of course they're a side.
Chocolate pizza is a good dessert, but if you find yourself full after finishing up pizzas, then you might not be able to finish it.

One of the better deep dish pizza places in the area. The crust is not as buttery as Pizanos, but it's very similar as the places were started by brothers!! The sauce is very tasty and the toppings are generous.

It can get very busy here, especially with pickup orders. I wished they'd have more signs telling us which lines are pickups and which ones are dine-in. Without it, the first moments in this place was chaotic. We arrived and stood in front of the registers, waiting for about 5 people to put in orders. There was no one else at the other registers, so we assumed we were in the right place for dining-in. But once we finally got to the front of the line, we were told we were in the wrong line and needed to wait for the hostess, who was not at her station the entire 10 minutes we were there. We had to flag down another staff for service. Finally we were seated. They first put all 6 of us in a booth. We were all really skinny people, but the booth was incredibly tight. We asked to be moved, and were moved to a table for 10 which was way too big and didn't make it seemed like a intimate dining experience. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and a salad and 2 pizzas. The family-style salad was gigantic, and made us full even before the pizzas arrived. The pizzas were great, but somehow wasn't as thick as the deep-dish pizzas I've gotton at other Lou Malnati's, especially the ones in the city. Our servers insisted on serving us each of our slice, so she put the pizza pans on a console away from the table. This creates a problem when she wasn't around when we wanted another slice and had to wait for her. I truly don't understand wy they do that when there was plenty of space on our table. After all, they gave us a table for 10 people even when there's only 6. There's more than enough room for 2 more pizzas.
