Where to start Rooms are more than showing their age. The door made a desolate impression. A secure seal is very doubtful. The bathroom was a real impertinence. The joints in the bathroom and shower were either discolored or moldy. The water pressure couldn't be called this. Warm water was in short supply. The mattresses were one of the few bright spots in the room. Air conditioning worked and was bearable from the noise. Electrical installation was very typical of the country.
I also didn't find the food good because all the dishes were boring and carelessly prepared. Spices were used very sparingly. Only at the pasta station, where you can determine the seasoning yourself, were spices added to the dish. There was only one coffee machine for breakfast. Long queues regularly formed there, but the coffee tasted okay.
Facility is nice, but no Wi-Fi, no bar, i. nothing, where you can meet in the evening and sit comfortably, badly signposted. Restaurant has the charm of a deep-frozen canteen. Not recommendable

For me, Safaga, Lotos Bay is one of the most beautiful hotel complexes. It is quiet, family friendly and just beautiful. I have been here and will always fly here.
Despite the current crisis, there is a lot of effort here to allow the (unfortunately few) guests a nice holiday. The area is clean and well maintained, the rooms are good by standard and the food tastes good too.
The beach bar really deserves its name and is well worth a visit to end the day by the sea in the evening.

The Lotus Bay Hotel has become a little bit of age. It's about 40 years old. It's still a good value for money and the ideal place for scuba divers visiting Safaga, as it is direct in the middle between Orca Dive Club and Duck's Diving. The quality of food has improved again the last two years, it was worse before. Nevertheless, the food is not for gourmets but you can choose every evening between salads, fish, chicken and beef most evenings. The rooms are cleaned every day, but if you look into corners you will see signs of aging. The Lotus Bay has a middle sized pool and a fine sandy beach. If you don't expect to much, don't want to spend to much and be close to the diving center, this is the place for you to go. The staff is friendly.

We have been here in November 2018. The animation team is really super nice and the program very colorful designed without tips.
The beach is really nicely designed and the palm trees make the not so great beach chairs good again. The temperature and the sun have compensated for a lot.

In the area not much shopping center possible. 1 hour from the airport. Hotel is fairly remote, no barber and often lukewarm drink. Low rise ideal but a very poor shower room where the well barely extends and leaves a large wet bathroom. Air conditioning works well when you leave your room

Was in this hotel from 10.11.17 - 19.11.17. Check-in is fast, but the best numbers are given to the Germans, because they pay in euros. Russians are lodged in the backyards. Rooms are modest, old plumbing can already be changed, bed linen and towels are not new, sometimes tattered. Cleaning only sweeping. The food is quite modest - scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, feta cheese, cheese, sausages, pastries, but always fresh, for lunch there is vegetable soup on the water, fish or one type of meat, salads are not very good, there was more variety for dinner.
From spirits, red and white wine is normal, beer is excellent from bottle and ouzo.
The sea and the beach are excellent, there was enough space for everyone. The Germans changed the towels of the servants from the beach again for the euro - in the evening they leave towels, in the morning they are laid on the same fresh place. A flag hangs on each umbrella - busy. I saw this for the first time. The beach is long and wide, not very clean, there is a reef, you can see fish, hedgehogs, octopuses. Before leaving, the diesel fuel was drained from one of the yachts - they did not swim.
The hotel area is green and well appointed.
But despite the shoals in the hotel, the rest was a success - we went with friends. Judging by the tourists come here not for the first time.
