The ultimate Vinyl store, one of the best in the country! If you need it Ameoba has it! Large volume of people is the only negative, but you'll run into that almost everywhere in this the area.

What would I do without Amoeba...
Stuff can be very cheap, somewhat cheap, or about the same as other places. Selection is better than most. Some people call this shop expensive but I've never had that experience when focusing on buying LPs and hard to find CDs.

"We can only buy what millennials will buy". I brought six boxes of records in to sell, I left with six boxes. That being said, I still love Amoeba and had a positive selling experience today. I brought in a bunch of records that used to belong to my Mom from the 60s. Unless the artists are still known by today's younger generation, they're pretty much worthless. And don't bother with 78s.

So much music, CDs, DVDs, Blue Ray's, vynil discs but it's not a cheap place...

This has always been a favorite stop of mine. There are so many amazing, and often times out of print, movies and music. Parking can be a little tough, but it's worth it.

Best place to find any album or CD that is vintage or classic

I needed help getting a specific movie (Inception) and I was completely lost because of how big the store is, that is when Ben helped me find it with ease. The staff is great and the store is well organized!

I live in Colorado but visit LA to see family almost every year. Amoeba is the best for collectors. I collect movies and I always find the rare stuff here.

Just walking through the aisles takes me back to a simpler time when every piece of music was not yet at my fingertips in the little black rectangle I'm writing this review on. I love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for that particular music related item they just can't seem to find anywhere else.

It's like a music library. So many CDs, LP's and DVD's that you could spend hours here and love it. Definitely a plus for music lovers.

I have not found a store so far provided that you are pop music that is of classical folk music or other genres. Moreover, the average cost of the CD is really competitive

Most records here were definitely pricey, and sometimes just over-priced. If the record is a popular or harder to find record, it s going to be marked up considerably. But it s really hard to let that get you down when there is so much variety here. I picked up a couple t-shirts I hadn t seen before, 2 CD s and three 7 inches. I love collecting singles and other 7 s, so I will say that all of their 45 s were fairly priced; so I was happy about that.

This place always delivers. The best selection from the biggest artist to upcoming indie artist. The video selection is the best you'll ever see. I love this place and will choose to take the hour drive to Hollywood to always support this amazing place!

A fun place to spend some time looking for good music, enamel pins, movies and merch. They have a parking lot behind and underground parking which is great. Love going upstairs and looking at all the horror films. I wish they had a bigger kpop section, and more than just BTS.

The staffs has excellent taste for music and the knowledge and personal assistance were excellent! So happy we stopped in.

Must see. Respect to anyone who comes out of there without buying anything. Great selection of Jazz and Rock

I've been a huge fan of the LA location for a while now. I'm about two hours drive from them but obviously I'm in the area often enough with shows and such. Around 2006/7/or 8 I saw a live show there, after that I was hooked. It was a very popular band doing a very small show & I had wonderful experience. I loved Amoeba's after that. They really do cater to a music-oriented crowd. Since then it's been a long awaited revisit for me, so I decided to buy a logo-tshirt from their online store. With my luck I ended up buying the wrong color shirt. Realizing my error I emailed the customer service provided on the website & notified them of my error & my intentions. Within an hour or two they had emailed back adjusting my order & here I am today boasting on my personal media's of my kick ass t-shirt. Customer service is an A++ !! Let's face it, we don't get that kinda easy-fix, low-maintenance kind of treatment when dealing with Amazon. Trust me on that!

Not a fan of their music selection , usually never carry or have what I want & if they did it s usually not worth the price .

This one you can find more old movies and music I really like it

Go there every year for my birthday. I go with a game plan. Walk in door and plan gone. I could be lost for days in there. Love this place

This place is fantastic! They have a multitude of genres to choose from and because they re a buy sell trade they have rare out of print copies that come in.

Went while passing through L.A. and I'm genuinely sad I couldn't spend more time there. The vibe is awesome, they have so much variety of music and books and pins and patches too. I hope I get to visit again

love love love this location. i have come here multiple times over the years for everything from buying a record to a CD an album signing and even small scale performances. this is the record store you want to go to when you're in Los Angeles. a must visit when in Hollywood.

Fantastic selection of all types of music in different formats. Other cool swag and pop culture stuffage. If your in LA, it should part of your trip.

One of the largest non corporation owned used and new record store in the world. This place is awesome.
There is so much to see here and if you are looking for a specific item, most likely you are going to find it.

Where to start: gigantic place! Almost overwhelming in selection. I've been looking for a specific movie for years and described it to one of the counter staff and she knew the name immediately! Amazing.

Love this place. Sad to see its moving So, if you haven't experienced this place, its a must! (While it's still in this building)

Amoeba is a special place where every day there is new music in almost every format including reel to reel tapes and 8-track. I love going here!

Impressive store for new and 2nd hand records, books and merch. Informed staff and good systems despite the size. Coming from economically wrecked (thanks brexit, thanks May) UK it wasn't cheap but the selection is brilliant. Worth a trip to this part of LA for this alone. Free parking underneath.

Came here to buy a CD, left impressed with all the variety and availability of records, posters and different music players.

Reminds me of the 80's in the days of old fashioned record stores with the warehouse setting, smell of vinyl and wide selections of music. The only difference is the ridiculously proceed records. A Dr Dre chronic album was $35

Amazing music and movie selection! They have almost everything at this store. You can spend a few hours browsing through the variety of items. Highly recommended!

I went to amoeba on vacation a record store that was actually on my bucket list I bought an album it was supposed to be colored vinyl and when I got back home and opened it it was black vinyl, I called amoeba Jen spoke with them and their customer service is so amazing they are shipping me the album I wanted on colored vinyl with the return postage paid and I ship my album back, their customer service while I was at the store was so amazing the people were so Polite and helpful, as well as on the phone dealing with them, I would recommend amoeba music for anybody that wants to buy vinyl CDs merchandise, in my opinion amoeba music is now the best in my book

Amoeba is a great place to buy used Vinyl, CD's, Cassettes, VHS & DVD's. It's a very big store. You can be there for 2 to 3 hours easy. I come 2 times a year because its far from my home. I always buy movies & T.V Shows on DVD. Sometimes they have hard to find items you can't find in other stores

I love that store it is sad that they're going to close it and move it because that building is so nostalgic there's something about it the feeling in that store is wonderful
