We love going to Amoeba! We spend hours there. We especially love buying vinyl albums and they have a huge selection! Wish they had one in Orange County!

The atmosphere in this place is nice! I love being in here
If you are ever in LA take the time to go by Amoeba Music. They have a huge music selection, with DVD's & BluRay's upstairs and have live bands that play on the main floor, plus the employees are nice. You can always order online as well. I was in town with 14 other people of different ages and backgrounds, we all love this store. We went as soon as we got in town and before we left. Some it was their first time, others have been there several times, but we will all be back.
An expirience like no other! A litteral mall of wonders for geeks and the common man alike! With crazy collectibles and amazing products at good prices!
Amazing atmosphere. A must visit when you are in LA and are a music lover.
Great record store. I feel like it's a tourist destination. But it seems like a pretty good variety with some hidden gems.
Any music you can think of, largest selection in LA area. Great prices, choose new or used.
Great place it
sometimes they lowball and I mean
Really lowball I guess that s it! I m taken away 2 stars.!! Fu#^r$ Say an item item worth $2000 and in high demand and The profit margin (which is the number of dollars people are actually willing to pay) profit margin is $1000 youde think great There is plenty of profit to go around both of us we should both be happy at the end of this deal. LOL but then they offer you $20 and pocket 280$ so basically what they re doing is engulfing all available 700$ profits for them and 300 for you! not bad not good but At least they used a little tiny bit of Vaseline before they stuck it to you.
Amoeba is the standard for music or movies buying . Their employees are all so helpful. Amoeba is the only place to go for music or just for the atmosphere. AMOEBA IS #1
The most famous record store in the world. On Sunset Boulevard, vinyl bins in shambles. Should be shielded from the world at the climax of the disc. Bygone era
Excellent music outlet. I could spend hours hunting for oldies there.
I love this spot. It so easy to lose hours in here looking for new music.
Love, love, love this place!!!! Every time I go to L.A. I stop here a couple of times.
This is a very large facility. Don't expect to get in and out. We spend hours there and we still don't see everything.
There's great vinyl, cd's, 8 track, cassettes, movies, posters, t-shirts, buttons, electronics and so much more!!!!!
If you're from out of town they will ship your items home for you. This is a huge help. The shipping is cheap. They don't make anything off of it! It's smart of them to do because we could shop all we wanted to and not worry about our luggage being too heavy or how to get it back.
There's lot eating establishments near by so you could take a break and come back.
You do have leave big bags or backpacks at the door.
HUGE selection of music on pretty much every format you can think of...even cassettes for the hipster elite! I didn't see any eight tracks, though I'm sure they're hiding around there somewhere.
No doubt my favorite new music store on the planet. My kids love this place.
Amazing place to spend the day looking for rarities and reminiscing about the past.
Great selections!!!! Never have I ever seen a collection that massive!
It's a dream come true. Whichever cd or album you might be looking for, here it is available
My favorite place in LA. I go weekly, they always have something to interest me.
This should be a national monument. I hope it s here forever. The staff is a little jaded because they have to put up with tourists, so make them laugh -they deserve it. We are so lucky this is part of our city! Hopefully for a very long time.
Take a trip down memory lane at this huge place. You need at least 3 hours to appreciate every shelf here
This iconic store is huge. Plan on spending hours here if you really want to dig through records and see everything. Employees were great. So many fun other things for sale even beyond records.
You can spend hours in here, fabulous selection of music.
Enormous store with thousands of records both used and new, movies, band merch, etc. Found a 2nd pressing of Houses of the Holy here and a 1st edition of wish you were here. Rare finds but still possible to find gems like this here, especially if you look long enough and know what to look for.
Excellent selection of music and you can listen before you buy by scanning the barcode.
It has everything to look for whatever the style. The store is pretty big and takes time if your goal is to mine, but it's worth it.
A trip to Los Angeles isn't complete without a visit to Amoeba Music. You can spend hours in there going through their amazing collections of music, movies, books and many other things.
Probably the best music store in the country. We all use spotify, but I still enjoy a nice store.
there's so much stuff here//music, DVDs... others//you should go to here
Great way to kill time, very organized. Staff are not too friendly, but that's okay. Parking is free, if you can't park on the main parking, more is available on a building next to it, free after validation...
The LA branch can't be beat! So huge, plan ahead and take your time browsing this music mecca!
I love it, it's the best music store on the planet.
You can get lost in here. Huge place with TONS of merch, music, and history.
Historical record shop in LA , if you haven t been you MUST! It s got something for everyone of every age , music, movies, memorabilia , vinyl , and more!!
Wide selection of pop culture items at multiple price points.
Music, movies and more. More? Really makes you think about the word more, makes me kinda depressed knowing they have more and I have less well if you feel the same way, just head-on down and buy some stuff from them and you'll have more and they will have less. Unless its Tuesday I'm sure they restock on Tuesdays.
First time here. Very cool place, brings nostalgic feels.
The last great record store on L.A... sure there are many other smaller stores, but this one reminds me of the late, great Tower on Sunset.
Easily the best record store I've ever been to. The staff are helpful, there was an extremely wide selection of books, vinyl, turntables, cd's, posters, and souvenirs. In my opinion, Amoeba is about the only redeeming part of Hollywood at all. It's always my first stop when visiting the city.
The biggest old cd store in California. Great place
An establishment that's in the grand tradition of ones which proceeded it and have disappeared from the scene.. This place reminds me of the glory days of pre-digital music distribution perhaps best exemplified by Tower Records massive flagship store on Sunset. I suppose Amoeba will disappear at some point in time as well, but is well worth a visit while it's still around.
Best place to get any music you are looking for!! Also love the movie section! They always have something I didn't know I wanted.
Awsome place, two story record shop has everything music, movies, pop culture, even books and collectibles
When I can I stop in here. Find old stuff. They have vinyl. Staff usually knows a lot. Music lovers vibe all over. Also some freaks but comes with the territory. Memorable place to spend hours listening. Recommend highly.
Took me way back to the Tower Record days! Loved everything in that store!
Horrible and a rip off!!! I gave it one star because I had to. I brought movies from them and was told that you can re-sell them or get store Credit both was a lie. When you return a move they say that the dvd is scratched and a dvd u paid $20 dollars for is now worth a $1 in Store credit. I have the hit mans bodyguard, atomic blonde and the kingmans both dvd and was offered $7. I will never buy anything from AMOEBA EVER AGAIN!!! and the rating that they have saying that is a great place came from the people working there. When I walked up to the line the guy ran over so his coworker couldn t wait on me. And I do believe it racist and if I was white I would have not gotten this disgraceful treatment.
A place that any music lover should visit at least once in a lifetime.
If you are looking for music, a record shop, this is a good place. Possibly there are others, but today there are no longer the typical record stores, only a few survive and this is one of the best for my taste. In addition, prices are not exorbitant, they are very contained
SO MANY OPTIONS, THE BEST VINYL STORE IN WEST COAST HANDS DOWN
One of the last record stores. Pro: big selection. Con: pricey
