Retro vibes, cheap knick knacks and even sought after collectibles abound makes Amoeba a great stop for any tourists, a date, and even seasoned collectors. Season box sets of your favorite shows, Unique stickers and pop culture shirts, even a fully stocked VHS section and of course CDs and vinyls. If you like media in one way or another you're going to find something here that fits your niche. Anime fans, Prog metal nerds, and people who know every line of 'the office' are all represented inside of this bastion of multi form media. Worth your time and not too much of a walk from Hollywood blvd.

For music lovers of all times and genres Amoeba Music is paradise. It is one of the last music stores where you can find what you are looking for. It is to stay a few hours exploring and if you are not looking for anything in particular you will surely find some pearl that you will not be able to avoid buying.

Absolute most amazing media store I've ever been in! Insane selection of dvds that are very cheaply priced ($3 what?!). Any and every cd you can think of. You can get lost in here

I go to Amoeba Records EVERY WEEK. I've loved their selections and pricing is good to great.

We were given discount cards and were told NEVER to surrender them. That they were good for EVERY purchase.

Well - tell that to the jack-nugget counter person (and their "manager") who could've cared less.

Even the best places can be SABOTAGED by unenthusiastic customer service..!!

I will not be back for a while... back to Amazon Used CDs for me...

A museum of the soundtrack to your life! A walk down memory lane. This place has all the musical chapters of your life.

Has a lot of items. Plan on spending time there. They also have a hidden bathroom.

Amoeba got some stuff but not everything but theres absolutely nothing else where to buy from so if you're lucky you may find some stuff

100 dollar bill was usable and was saved. Looking at the look of the clerk, it seemed like a welcome other than a credit card. Of course, the product lineup was also abundant. I want to go again!

I have found some of the most treasured songs from my youth, from Artists long gone but, not forgotten. I was awakened by my 3month old Grandson just a laughing and giggling at a children's movie. I couldn't believe how interested he was in it. I immediately called Amoeba to see if they had the DVDs. And, of course they did. I this store. Happy Customer

This place is a music lover's dream. I'm primarily a rock and metal guy and the selection here was the best I've ever seen. However, I don't have space to buy every record I want so I mainly came here for the merch and was surprised by the selection, even though I was expecting there to be a lot for a record store. I ended up getting a sick Jimi Hendrix shirt but what really caught my eye was the book section. For not being a Barnes and Noble this place had a lot of books. There was a ton of great looking rock books and I ended up getting a used copy of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana that was in amazing condition.

My only regret coming here is that I only had about 25 minutes before I had to go catch a flight. I could've spent the entire day browsing Amoeba's collection.

A great place for art lovers but very expensive on records

Great place to check out. An incredible selection of music and music related goods such as t-shirts, buttons, and patches. I didn't buy anything as I still had 2 more flights before coming home. Would definitely visit again.

Just heard someone bought out amoeba records and gonna close it down. What's going on? When's the last day? Clearance?

Great selection of vinyl at a good price and helpful staff

A music store that is a sure fire way to start your search on hard copies.
They have the space to keep the slightly more obscure artists in stock and ample room for the big ones. I visit constantly to keep tabs on restocking and new releases. They don't have everything I want, but the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. They also keep movie and tv series collections, and it's great for those, "Oh yeah, I wonder if they carry that!"
If you haven't been here, you won't regret this sunset strip hang out. Great for friends to wonder off in any direction.

There is nothing not to love about Amoeba. From the cool neon frontage to the very vast amount of music and DVD's. The staff are very approachable and informative. The staff we approached seemed to genuinely love their job. Who could blame them? There is a range of new and used music to buy so depending on your budget really. Also, their merchandise and poster selections are on point too. You can pretty much find what you are looking for here. Also, they validate your parking for you.

One of the really great record stores of the world. It is huge and you can find anything here, from CDs to DVDs to vinyls to tapes. Great place to visit. A must-visit if you are in Los Angeles for all record collectors.

This place is truly iconic, and for a reason! They have a great selection of film and records you cannot find anywhere else, even underground music that a lot of shops have never heard of. This was worth the stop on my vacation. Amazing place.

The best place in Los Angeles where you can get any type of music in almost any type of format. The aesthetics and atmosphere of the place is fantastic and the selection of music is overwhelming. The place is huge, you will spend quite some time exploring. When I first heard of this place I thought it was going to be some small rinky-dink record store, boy was I wrong. They also have an upstairs where they have tons of dirt cheap (and I mean dirt cheap) DVD's and Blu-Rays. They sell shirts and all kinds of other cool collectible merchandise and The parking is absolutely free! The staff is super friendly and helpful, they always have a smile on their face. If I could give this place any higher rating I would on the fact that this is one of the few businesses that I have absolutely no gripes about. I recommend you bring your friends and have a great time picking out merchandise. If you are in the LA/Hollywood area I strongly suggest you make this a stop, you won't regret it.

A fantastic place to find music of any kind in any format. A must for music enthusiasts. New and used available (today picked up an original vinyl of an album by The Clash)

Amazing place! So much to look at and you'll be overwhelmed by how much they have. Records,books, t-shirts, posters, films, mugs, etc, it is enormous!

If you are a music lover, you cannot miss this place. It's huge and is the paradise of vinyl lovers. After I discovered it, I spent a long time inside.
There was a board with music flyers with band stickers and advertising, I took home some of the flyers and stickers and I put them on some home items, so anytime I saw them I remember my visit to this incredible store!
