Rude ignorant people upstairs. The ones downstairs are ignorant and tell me my hundreds are fake everytime I use one. They lack knowledge in Italian, Germany, American, Horror, etc. This place is great on selection and deals. TRAIN YOUR TRASHY EMO STAFF PROPERLY!! IT'S NOT HARD TO BE POLITE. Otherwise a great store.

A warehouse of music n movies n all things Hollywood! It will take hours to see all the posters displayed on the huge walls, and not an inch of space that doesn't scream Hollywood! An iconic place! And even the elevator there is iconic and a must-see!

This store is absolutely massive! I probably could have spent hours in there just looking around.

From what I could tell, though, the selection tended to skew a little more towards popular music. I found a lot more stuff that I personally liked at a much smaller record store very close to my house, though my tastes can run a little obscure. Additionally, a lot of rock subcategories were shelved in one massive rock section, including, I believe, all metal not classified as "underground metal". The ska/ska punk selection was a little small, but that could be a result of general unavailability. I wouldn't know

Lots of casettes that was really cool. The genres are split up pretty well and pretty intuitively. It was really fun going, even if I didn't really find much that I wanted.

I don't know what a five star music store is like so for now I'll give four. Could have easily spent two days going through their inventory. Only skimmed through the rock vinyl. Could have easily picked 20-30 albums but settled on five albums and they do ship.

Do not trade things in at amoeba! They will give you pennies on the dollar. A good record shop will give you half of the items value in trade and a quarter of the item's value in cash when it come to trade-ins. That being said, they have an amazing selection of new vinyl, cds and movies. Unparalleled in los Angeles! A great place to spend money, a horrible place to trade anything in. They also hire a diverse staff, you never know if your gonna have a awesome or horrible experience when asking for help. Sadly, the nicest people that work at the place are always running the registers. So I always tend to leave with the last few minutes of my trip being the best part. Also free parking is a big reason this review is not lower than 3 stars.

Always my favorite record store to go to. Not only is is located in a great spot where you can go other places too but it has free parking for it's customers and it sells all sorts of other media. Books, DVD's, Blu ray, vinyl, 8 track, cassettes, CD's, patches, pins, shirts, headphones, even guitar strings. If it has to do with music they have it. It's also the biggest selection of music that I've ever seen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It does get crowded especially on the weekends so weekdays are the best time to go. This is definitely the spot to go to if you love music and you're in LA

Amoeba is one of the best record stores in all of California. It is also one of the biggest. They have almost every genre of music. They also have DVD, Bluray, CDs, Cassettes, 8 Tracks, Lazer Discs, Books, Posters, and of course Vinyl. They have a section for almost every band/musician

It's always a good hang out spot, plus it's on sunset so there's always more to do. Whether you're going during the week or the weekend, Amoeba is always filled. Plus if you're like me, chances are you've most likely ran into someone at your school with either an Amoebat shirt or sticker

An absolute treasure trove of CDs, records, and movies, all old and new. It's no wonder why this is such a popular spot! It's always such a fun experience, albeit a little overwhelming. As an audiophile though, I almost start to drool as soon as I enter the door. This place is always stocked with some of my favorite artists, and if I could buy all of the albums that I like all at once, I most definitely would. I don't recommend going in with less than $30, though. The temptation is much too great to leave without a paper bag in hand. But by all means, please support this store!

Love this place. I'm in my mid 40's; your store reminds me of shopping at Tower Records from years ago, only way cooler! And you have live shows, too. I live in Portland OR for me it's not a trip to LA until I get something from Amoeba Music

I get to LA infrequently but when I get here I never miss the opportunity to shop there.
The assortment of CDs, albums and parafinalia is astounding.
I was like a kid in a candy store today and walked out with a ton of music missing from my collection.
There is no other place that I have shopped that offers such a great selection of classic rock, blues and pop music.
Go shop there and be dazzled.
