I just love this place they have everything here from vinyl, movies, magazines and c.d.'s. You can't even buy c.d.'s anymore. Come to Amoeba and you can find it all here.

The record selection here is to die for! Could have spent hours browsing. Staff are helpful with finding anything you are looking for. Bought myself a pair of bluetooth headphones from here also, love them!

Amoeba is an amazing resource and a real piece of Hollywood history. I recently saw that the property has been sold and a condo tower is planned. That's a shame. I hope they can find a new home nearby.

One of the best and largest record stores in the United States. Very central and you will find a great variety of discs, both new and used.

One star is too much. This is joke of a record store. Staff with no knowledge and rude to the extreme. No personality. Accidentally walked past the front with a Child wearing back pack and staff member condescended me for not checking the bag. Didn't realise the music scene in LA is dead... Well at lest here it is. Nothing original about the store, and huge mark ups on common items. If you are after a real record store, save your time and don't bother with this joke.

This is how I always imagined Empire Records would be. Amoeba has everything music related you could possibly want. It's the only record store I've ever seen that was so bustling on a weekday afternoon. They're keeping the record store dream alive! Damn the man, support your independent record stores!

Found all sorts of CDs that I could not find in the SF Bay Area. This place is a gold mine for stuff you're looking for, but had never gotten. The staff is resourceful and know exactly where to look for the artist and or title of the selection. It's too bad that they may have to move in the future. I had to return again and pay homeage to something I will really miss when I come home to LA.
Find a new location soon. I'm a fan and will travel to where you relocate in the future.

This place is huge and fantastic. Anything you could possibly want to get, I am sure you could find here. We only got a shirt on this trip but I was tempted to buy about 5000 other things. You can browse online as well which is really handy.

Recently moved to SoCal, so this was my first visit to the Hollywood store. It was all I expected, having been a regular at the SF store. Very different vibe. Very Hollywood. Will be back soon!

A record store, books, DVDs, CDs, like the ones we saw in the 1990s, gigantic and I believe one of the few in the world yet. You can spend hours there between rarities and the latest releases, but the cool thing, keep an eye on the shows, there are always some free shows, I just saw the Off show.

Incredible selection, prices are often a bit on the steep side, though.

For a shop that sells music, Its a surprise it is still running. Awesome place to loose yourself looking through the endless isles of available music. Also, given vinyls recent revived popularity, probably the best place to find new and old records.
They have a lot more stuff than just records.

It's the only place of it's kind left in Los Angeles, there are smaller places but this place seems to have most everything you want.

The Absolute Paradise of media art, calling it just a "record shop" is extremely reductive.

It was and still is the place to go for all your music needs! I buy my cds and vinyls from here because they don't just have a amazing variety from known stars to local bands, bug they usually always have great price deals. They have other cool merchandise like pins, posters, books, shirts, and etc. If your a real music lover this is the shop for you.
