Was a great place to work 20 years ago, not anymore, think twice before accepting a job here. Most people regret it within a year.
I learned to make energetics with kitchenware. In the evenings, I threw many parties with people drinking from labware, leaving them schizophrenically intoxicated. I enjoyed it like Nuremberg Standards that I learned at this establishment. This is one of the most relax places. They look the other way because I come from higher standards than those. It was in the science.
If you make it through the security gates one might notice a scene from Twins, staring Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Side note : The first Atomic bombs were made here.
I spent 18 months there and would go back in a heart beat.
The Lab's gates are too intrusive. Use Los Alamos canyon route by the ice rink to go around the lab's gates.
I can't talk about most of what goes on in LANL but I can say what isn't classified. Like the fact that this national lab since it's creation in the early 1940s it has been closely tied with the US Navy in developing multi-million and/or multi-billion dollar projects like the world's First Three Atomic Bombs. LANL almost every three or four months cunduct safe and highly regulated explosives tests that can be heard for many miles around. LANL has a mile long electron accelerator amoung many other amazing buildings that cunduct safe and highly regulated tests at least 7/12 months of the year. LANL employment comes from all over the world and includes an internship program for Los Alamos High School students only. LANL trains these interns in proper safety precautions and procedures for their areas on LANL property. LANL in 2018 and at least 2019 is owned and managed by a triad of American cooperations that mainly operate in the state of New Mexico. LANL previously was owned and managed by several Californian University's.
Staff was friendly atmosphere was quiet. Get the Fatman if they have it on specials. It's the bomb baby.
(This portion of this review has been sanitized by the CIA)
and that brings me to my final point: Peace through superior firepower.
An incredible, historical place. The current work is slow and bureaucratic, though it remains important to national security
Ahahahahaah like anyone could post photos of it...
It's a great place applying science to save the world!
Its a great place to work and allot of history there's a Museum also and great vistas to the valley.
This place protects the nation from rogue countries. Extremely talented scientists and engineers work to serve the nation to ensure world stability and control the nuclear threat.
Great little town, very welcoming. Lots of history and info for science fans. To drive by the lab entrance to get into town, you'll have to go through a security checkpoint or take the bypass. Obviously, pictures are restricted within the secure area.
What happens here changes the WORLD. Many here are saying there is nothing to do. I would disagree. There are a couple of museums and walking tours downtown. There will be more as the national park is built out. The hiking available in White Rock and Los Alamos is very good. Yes, Eating options are somewhat limited but everyone is very friendly and helpful. Also the drive up is spectacular.
Nice place in the middle of nowhere. Love the view only 2 roads to get to Los Alamos.
Super nice , super intelligent, laid back competent employees. Gorgeous setting.
The volunteers at the welcome center made our tour an excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Much more than nuclear related subjects going on here ;)
The premier scientific organization on the planet. They hire hundreds of student interns each year, so if you are a US citizen, this place should top your list.
I love my country and our freedom. Of course I love the open research as well as the stockpile stewardship missions.
Piece of Atomic History. Very interesting Museum and much to learn about the Manhattan Project
The grounds are beautiful but photos are not allowed. Only a tiny percent of Lab grounds are open to the public. To learn about the Lab, visit the Bradbury museum, which is part of the Lab but open to the public.
Lots to do around here. Shop at Central Park Square, play tennis at Urban Park, swim at the aquatic center, browse the art at the Karen Wray gallery, taste wines at Unquarked, hike on one of the many trails, take in the stunning views at Overlook Park, or eat at one of our great restaurants.
Iv'e been here for the national Supercomputing Challenge and loved it. It's OUR national labs for pete's sake!
It's sciencey, lots of it. It's great. The best even. Nobody has got more science than us. We're the best.
very bad coffee and extremely hard to find. not much cake options refused to wash my civic and got followed by people on yamaha R1M's when i left.
It's a place where science in many thing's are done or worked on including new science.
I got in to the lab's with no problems verry nice security.
Some employees are racist and leave racist reviews on other companies. A review that refers to people as "bi-pedal rodent" and "beady eyes". And later referenced monkeys some how. Which is weird. But the employee is of a darker skin color... It's shocking how racism like this can still be tolerated in this day and age. I just found out this person works at Los Alamos. That's why this review is here. Hopefully the HR there will look into the probability that there are employees making racist slander on social media.

We make Nukes or parts of Nukes. ya yaya yaya ya ?
and test them in Nevada ...
Trying to access the website, but it isn't loading. Seems the server isn't responding. Did the server crash or what?
Research for family being interviewed for new position...
As the lab's slogan says, where discoveries are made!
Very good museum in town and not far from valles calderas.(or Valle grande) as it was called many years ago, and also 20minuets away puye cliffs with bus's running from White Rock.
I met Charles Xavier. Very Awesome Dude!!! I am impressed by his knowledge.
While in college, our class went to the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The laboratory gave us a tour of some projects they undertook post-cold war. Technology used during the cold war was repurposed for civilian projects. One cold war project they showed us was an electron gun they were studying to find medical uses. It is interesting to look back at this tour and see how it has impacted cancer.
Free, comprehensive exhibit of the development of the atomic bomb. The entire experience is fascinating. Full sized models give an unparalleled perspective of the project.
Very nice place to go and visit. Security was very helpful!
A good place to work. I don't think there is anything you can do as a tourist here.
Federal labs must have a security clearance to enter
Neat place very high security but when you make bombs that wipe out complete city's I guess that its necessary
I don't hate it. Photos are not allowed. Picture is before the Los Alamos Laboratories. Awesome view!
There's a pretty cool museum with nuclear history. They don't like you knowing they keep the aliens in the laboratory though so you need to use the teleporter in the backroom.
I don't like it there. Bad experience. Don't want to go into detail. Don't visit.
