Los Alamos National Lab Review

Had a great time seeing this nucleus of scientific discovery. This place was like a fusion between high security buildings and nice scenery. I felt like a Little Boy again! It was like viewing a holy Trinity of science, with an explosion (or implosion... it's often classified) of knowledge. I'd go back in 2 shakes, to check out some of the other barns. This place is the bomb! Yee-haw!

Very impressive, you came to spend a lot of time here. Oppenheimer and the Manhattan project are shown in pictures and writings. If you are traveling in the area, you should take a detour here. Already the way from Santa Fe is worthwhile. Great view

There are lots of really cool things happening here, as well as making a difference in the world.

I worked at Los Alamos as a contractor years ago and my visit on Memorial Day was not long enough. Got to go back. The Museum is awesome. Just a nice plce to visit.

Small town and frindley people. A few good restaurants.

The trip through the James Mountains was beautiful, and only took about a half an hour longer than taking I-25 through Santa Fe. I missed the slow truck from the lab, so it may have saved time.

If you making delivery here, please check in where it says truck Inspection. Get a pass from there, otherwise you will be turned back. Delivery is between 8 and 430PM.
No cellphone reception around the area so be prepared for anything.

Great place to go if you are a trucker. I was unloaded in 15 minutes. Granted security is really tight, but they were courteous and helpful.

If you are curious about security as a trucker they have you open all compartments including hood. They take a respectable peak inside the truck as well ( I happen to keep my truck very clean ). They have a dog they walk around the truck as well. Once cleared you go down to the security post entrance and they give you directions on which way to go.

Overall experience was great. I wish i had time to check out the museum, but trucker life calls!

In my opinion, the Los Alamos National Laboratory is the best overall lab in the national lab system. While visiting the Lab or Los Alamos, make sure you visit the Bradbury Science Museum in downtown Los Alamos. The museum provides a nice history and overview of some of the Lab's important programs

This restaurant has closed but the staff are really helpful and have loads of great facts about the solar system.
