Truly one of the worst property managers I've ever dealt with. My apartment on Stockwell Street went 5 days without heat in the coldest week of January earlier this year, as well as central air being down the entirety of the month of July. Communication was poor and there we had to fight tooth and nail to get any money back for the days left vulnerable. Unfortunately the nature of the housing market means Longwood properties will stay in existence, but its at the expense of their tenants. They do not care nor never once showed the kind of empathy you'd hope property managers to have.

I lived in two different apartments managed by Longwood Properties with a couple of friends. Reliable maintenance service and always follows up. Thanks for a great two years!
I'm a Maintenance Supervisor we generally get paid between $35.00--$40.00 dollars and hour by reputable companies! Longwood Properties, Inc thinks paying their management staff between: $21.63--$26.44 hour is how to attract quality staff! Most reputable property management companies pay their regular maintenance workers between $20.00--$25.00 an hour to start. Clearly Longwood Properties Inc. is pocketing a lot of money that should be going to the upkeep of the property owners properties! Would never work for these people!
I do not recommend dealing with Longwood. Some maintenance requests get unanswered. Our buzzer hasn't been working for so long. Also, they did not help at all to deal with Covid situation. They were not willing to work with tenants to better deal with Covid while many other realtors have done so.
I lived in an apartment managed by Longwood Properties for about 2 years and I would not rent a property managed by them again. Their maintenance and management are extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Upon moving in we experienced numerous health and safety issues that Longwood ignored for almost 3 months exposed wiring, missing keys, etc. The biggest issue was that none of the windows had screens (this is required by law) and the apartment had no a/c so we had to choose between being hot or having bugs all over the apartment. It wasn t until we sent a certified letter and threated to withhold rent and contact the housing inspector that Longwood finally decided to fix things! By this time is was almost November and they didn t install screens, but they weren t really needed. When Spring came around and we needed to open the windows again, we asked Longwood for screens. They sent over maintenance people multiple times to measure but never installed the screens. Finally, we got sick of waiting and told them we called the housing inspector and that an inspection would be occurring. Suddenly, screens appeared in the windows.
We also had another issue in which the refrigerator shelf broke and needed to be replaced. It took literally MONTHS to get a refrigerator shelf, which is was hard with 3 people sharing a fridge. I ended up actually going to their office and talking to them. They claimed that the shelf was backordered and didn t know when it would be in stock. Within seconds I pulled up a website where they could purchase a new shelf and it could be delivered in 2 days. Why should I be doing their job for them?
We also had a major fly problem over the summer. Despite constantly cleaning the kitchen we a fly infestation. We repeatedly told them and that they needed to call an exterminator. Nothing was ever done, and the housing inspector repeatedly sent them notices but they failed to do anything. It was absolutely disgusting, and Longwood Properties did not care!
We chose not to renew the lease and in March they began showing the unit. Multiple times leasing agents would show up without any notice and we turned them away (as we legally allowed). We would then get threatening emails from an employee, Andrea Flaherty, telling us we needed to allow those agents to enter. I had to reply and remind her that state law and our lease agreement requires notice before entering the apartments for showings.
tl;dr: if you decide to rent a property managed by Longwood Properties be prepared to have your maintenance issues ignored, know your rights as a tenant, and have the city s inspectional department on speed dial. You are allowed to call and make an appointment as soon as violation happens (don t wait because Longwood Properties will not respond willingly).
Also, Chris Pellegrini (whose review is posted on here) is an employee of Longwood Properties. His review seems like a conflict of interest.
I would give 0 stars if I could. Where do I begin? we were accused of not being able to properly flush a toilet, we had yellow water, rodents and bugs, moldy bathrooms, and defective shelving and ceilings. Despite all these issues, we were told that they were all cosmetic issues. Even though exterminators were brought in, they never fixed ANYTHING. The property managers even entered our apartment without notifying us or even knocking sometimes. All in all, would not recommend AT ALL. STAY AWAY.
I have been working with Longwood Properties for the past 6 years and if you are looking for a management company that is honest, fair and accessible then I would highly recommend them
Our association has been working with Longwood for the past 18 months, and they have been amazing! They helped us through a condo conversion and brand new association, with all first-time home buyers. Chris Pellegrini has been fantastic, he's very professional and responsive. Always looking to solve for his customers!
I have lived in two different buildings managed by these guys with no real issues. Office staff was always friendly and maintenance was attended to in a timely manner. My particular apartments were renovated and in good condition.
