Within walking distance of historic downtown durango. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms
An inn where you can eat well. End point of the silverton durango tourist train. Rooms were ok
Indoor pool. But the hotel rooms don't have a microwave or a fridge
Quiet, WiFi worked great, clean. No refrigerator in room. Ac was on when we checked in, and worked just fine. Don't count on a free breakfast. Unless we didn't look in the right place, breakfast was just some bread and coffee.
Nice hotel with quiet and clean rooms, only a minute from Downtown and the train station..
This hotel was the absolute worst hotel I have EVER stayed at. The staff was so disrespectful to me. When I first checked in, a younger girl checked me in. I accidentally left my hotel key in the hotel, so I went back to the front desk to ask for a new one. When I did, there was a man at the front desk this time instead of the girl, and he accused me of smoking marijuna because I accidentally left my key in the room, told me he would kick me out right then because I wasn t 21, said he wasn t going to tolerate noise complaints, or the illegal activity of smoking when I don t even smoke, which is so disrespectful. I had already paid for the hotel, and the girl who checked me in didn t tell me I had to be 21. He even was talking bad about his own coworker saying how she s not even 21 and how she shouldn t be working there. He was so rude. He ruined my entire experience and I will NEVER come back here.
Nicely located close to the downtown scene. Staff is very friendly, courteous, and accommodating. Room was clean and hospitable.
Rooms very comfortable and I like the river right outside my room Colorado River love seeing the people rafting
Room was older but clean. Unfortunately, our room didn't have a refrigerator or a microwave.
Too close to smokimg rooms. Needs to make wings of smoking and nonsmoking.smoke comes through air conditioning and walls
Good central location but this is definitely a very tired hotel. It was clean just old
Good location close to old downtown Durango. Staff were friendly and helpful and room was good.
Right on the river pretty clean our room was 130.00 not to pricey
Resent rooms but very nice location right off the river. Close to historic downtown and grocery store.
Great service, great location, love the creek around back. Slightly bummed there is no mini fridge or microwave, but still a decent place to stay!
Our room was very nice, clean and the beds were soft! They had a pool and a jacuzzi, and there was even an applebees attached to the hotel!! There had a beautiful little yard area with lawn chairs and tables and the staff was also very nice! The beds were a little bit on the small side but they weren't bad at all!! I would love to stay here again!
Great riverside location within walking distance of all that the historic downtown has to offer. Clean room.
What a great place! Perfect location. Great price, food n3xt door, hot tub and more!
The only real problem we experienced was the lack of electrical outlets. And what was available were old and loose which could lead to an arc and fire.
Also, the coffee machine in the lobby was out of order leaving the "wish it was coffee" in the room.
Other than these, the rooms are dated, but clean & comfortable and the staff nice. Location is decent to get to the Historic District and there's an Applebee's attached which is convenient.
Good amenities restaurant just down the walkway definitely a 2.5 rating Hotel
Good spot, nice rooms at a good price right downtown and since in the river (they seem like the best) with an Applebees on site.
They have a nice location but keep ahold of your things and do leave anything in your room the manager cant be trusted.
Helpful staff and really nice location. The rooms for a little bit dated but still very comfortable and it was very nice that they accommodated pets. they were very helpful when we attempted to extend our stay. I would probably stay there again with my family.
Priced appropriately, good location near downtown, indoor pool.
Great hotel for the price and location. This hotel is an easy walking distance from the main street, sits on the banks of the river, and has a grocery store across the intersection from it for budget travelers looking to save on food. The pool isn't much, but the place is quiet and easily meets all the basic needs without being flashy.
Friendly staff and the room was nice. A bit pricy for what you get. My only complaint is that the traffic can be loud.
Great location, close to downtown and the train. All a short walk away
Great location, walking distance to downtown Durango shopping/food/nightlife. Rooms are nice and clean. Indoor pool and hot tub are a nice bonus.
I typically give this hotel a 4.5 review. Not this time!! I was greeted at the counter with a smile, and then it went downhill from there. The receptionist, who I have no clue as to her name, due to lack of a name tag, was THE rudest person I have met in years. Very combatitive. I gave her my info, she asked for an ID, I informed her it was a company card, she said she didn't care. It wasn't the fact that I may have been in the wrong, it was the fact that she started to get major attitude with me. I left to get my ID. When I returned, she was talking on the radio to her maintenance man about the situation. Then she informed me, that I was the rude one!! This lady needs to be trained on customer service ASAP. My company employees, my family, my friends and I, will not ever rent from this hotel again. This employee just cost her company, several thousand dollars, a year.
Price we where charged $174.85 exceeded listed price of $146.00. There is no fridge or microwave, carpet dirty and stained, they guarantee "price matching" but staff said "they aren't authorized" to honor that guarantee. Looking out over a dirty parking lot-yuck.
Clean hotel in a good location for a reasonable price. Shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity
It is located within walking distance of downtown and right next to a path along the river. Ample and convenient parking. Close to a gas station, so it was easy to get set for another day of driving. The room was clean. The courtyard was beautiful. Personnel seemed friendly.
Not about place would a been a 5 star had we had Continental breakfast
Called twice , online picked up and hung up on.. very unprofessional
First time staying in Durango Downtown Inn, historical -type motel with great security and a cool pathway snuggled in the back area that I am only guessing goes thru the town but not sure how expansive it's path goes. ;-)
On 2/17/12- The young lady working the front desk was very helpful, charming and my stay so far was acceptable... 2/18/12 There were some problems involving the police and other tenants and the guy working the front desk accused us only because we were outside at the time, coming back from downtown. We told him it wasn't us but he continued to be a jerk about it. He also looked at us as if he really didn't like 'our kind'. Ruined my stay. It's a great place to stay, but only if you're White.
Very basic hotel in a great location. Rooms are old but updated. No fridge, no microwave. A 2 minute walk from downtown and right on the Animas River. Great pool and hot tub. We would stay here again!
Rude an cost way to much. One minute u're a customer the next your trespassing
Great place right on the river, the rooms are very big, well equipped and really nice. Is definitely recommended!
Too bad with a restaurant and bar ON SITE, that you can't take a drink to your room...
Considering how close the Downtown Inn is to the fanfare of Durango, the prices are very reasonable (probably the least expensive in the area by a good margin.) The rooms are well furnished even if the bathrooms are a bit small. There is an Applebee's on the same property, which is nice, and rooms on the side of the Animas River have a nice view. The WiFi, however, is painfully slow and is easily overloaded if too many guests connect at once, and our door keys failed several times, even after we were given instructions not to put them in our wallets, or in a pocket with our keys, or on the dashboard of the car. I'm not really sure where we were supposed to keep it, but it still didn't work either way. Other than that, staff is nice, and as I said, it is in a very convenient location.
Very friendly staff, gave us riverview and park bikes right in front of room. Clean, compfy close to downtown and applebees
Needs security. Always sketchy people hanging around.
Stayed here to be closer to downtown. It turned out to be sketchy. Undesirables hanging out all over the hotel. I get it was cold and they were looking for a warm place to stay. The Applebee's is okay but no sound from the TVs if you want to watch sports. The building is old but I'd rather stay elsewhere in the future.
It' okay but it sure need to get a good breakfast place to eat breakfast for the people staying there
Clean enough. The rooms are a bit dated, with very few places to plug in devices. The front desk staff was rather apathetic and un-engaged.
Nice place right by the river. Staff was very friendly.
Very affordable given the gorgeous location, convenience to downtown, and quality and comfort of the room. Pet fee was reasonable and the room didn't smell like past pets. Front desk was very helpful. Cleaning staff was a bit unfriendly, but nothing out of line.
The hotel staff seem to not care for their jobs. When I stayed here I waited in the lobby for a few minutes for employee to pop out from the back room. And upon checking out of the hotel I tried to call the front desk and no one picked up. I went down to the front desk and there was an employee just sitting on their phone obviously ignoring my phone call to the desk and did not even greet me when I walked in. Both interactions the staff did not even look at me either.
Nice peaceful place and reasonable price. Rooms were clean no refrigerators though. Located right next to animas river and downtown Durango, beautiful view. I would stay here again
It was a nice location, but it would be nicer if they had either a fridge or microwave in the room.
My travel companion and I went into this in late at night and we received terrible service by the employee at the front desk.
The scenery is amazing, in the heart of downtown Durango. Reasonably priced.
Got in quickly, late night..room clean and reasonably priced
Nice quaint place off the beaten path. Nice views and fair rates
Our entire stay was great. Prices were reasonable, and every interaction with staff was exceptional. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. We're local and have stayed here a few times over the years, usually because we just want a night in town, but this time was due to a broken water pump from the last freeze. After explaining the situation (when we called to make a reservation), the manager made every effort to make sure we were taken care of for a couple of days. This was probably our best experience with this hotel, and we'll definitely stay here again-
We had a clean river view room. We were able to check in and out quickly. Being able to walk downtown was very convenient, as well as the Applebee's that was connected to our hotel. Ended up being the only place with an open kitchen after 10
Nice rates and decent rooms. Giant moth in lobby and ineffective blackout curtains
My fiance and I stayed here for his 40th birthday. I DO NOT recommend staying here because of the following reasons:
1. I tried contacting the hotel in advance via email to see if there were any "special packages" available for purchase to surprise him with when we checked in i.e. chocolate covered strawberries, etc. However, I never received a reply back from the hotel. I let it go, but felt very weary of the customer service.
2.On the second day of our stay (my fiance's birthday) we were on the Durango & Silverton train, but when we got back to the hotel our rental car had been hit by an "unknown vehicle". We had to exchange rental cars at the Durango airport because the back bumper was hanging off the car and we had plans everyday of our stay.
2a. Once we got back to the hotel we went to the front desk to let them know that our car was hit in their parking lot and to give them the new vehicle information. The lady at the front desk was very nonchalant about the situation. Not apologetic in the least or even concerned that something like that happened at their establishment.
3. On the the third day we went to Mesa Verde allowing housekeeping to clean our room (we had the do not disturb sign on our door the day before). When we got back I could tell that someone had gone through my bag that was in the room. I am very meticulous about how I keep things (OCD meticulous)!!!! My bag was on the stool (not in the way of any cleaning that needed to be done) and I had my pajamas from the night before folded on top of it, but when we returned they were wadded up on top of my bag. Not cool!!!
4. There are no fridges unless you pay an extra fee, microwaves, or room service at this hotel. Very inconvenient. There is an Applebee's next door.
5. Beds were very uncomfortable. Room was dated, and the bathroom smelt like urine.
6. There were a lot of transient people near and around the hotel pan handling.
7. When we checked out the lady at the front desk was unfriendly and uninterested in our stay.
We stayed at the Days Inn at Alamosa for our last day/night of our trip and it was the complete opposite of our experience here.
comfortable room, nice bed. However, I was highly annoyed: we called asking for rates, making it clear we had a dog, got quoted a rate...then, on check-in, the dog charge was added, along with an upcharge for a "river view" room in order to avoid stairs (river could not be viewed from the room...no advantage over non "view" rooms. The view of the river was unimportant to me, but paying extra for the "view" was annoying.
Good position over looking the river, 5 minutes walk to the ctr of town
