The environment of the hotel is made up of large apartment buildings without character. There isn't much to do nearby. Room prices are high.
The room was perfectly clean, the bed comfortable and a European electrical outlet available (no adapter needed).

I ve stayed and several Marriotts through the city (Maida Vale and Marble Arch) and I have to say for the price this is one the nicer and better located within a city. The lounge is really convenient on the ground the floor.

The room was nice, and the people were friendly. The hotel terrific, but there were problems. The restaurant in the hotel is Carlinos, and we ate there once. The pizza that we had, was the worst I have ever had. Vertually everything else on the menu was loaded with cheese. Couldn't eat anything there. There is a bar in the hotel lobby, but there is no table service available. There were two bar tenders filling orders for the restaurant, everyone else was on their own. Glasses were left all over the tables. Very disappointed in how long it took to get a drink.

They handle the crowds, events, and stress well at this property. The pool is clean and the restaurant is surprisingly good for being inside the property. Rooms have been remodeled and are nice.

Room smelt awful. A member of the clearning staff came to check it promptly and agreed it was bad, explaining it was due to damp (not stale smoke as we'd initiially thought). They were unable to move us and so we had to stay put with french door open all night as the air con made not difference.

In the bar we watched mice creeping out from under the settee to eat nuts that had fallen onto the floor. We told the bar staff who gave a knowing smile and said they'd report it.

Disappointing stay and not impressed by the staff's reactivity or attitude to put things right.

Hotel is ok (not great), but ruined by the breakfast situation. It s pretty standard for hotels to charge insane prices, but usually you get some service for that. Almost 20 pounds for a sub-standard buffet breakfast and a cappuccino in the British fake-Italian chain Carluccio s? I ll pass this hotel from now on.

I stayed at the Marriot in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, the executive lounge was on the top floor, and had a deck with a view. We were very happy with our stay then. In 2017, they moved the executive lounge to the lobby floor - it wasn't the same. We were disappointed. Next time we're in London, we will look for other accommodations.

Wouldn't stay here again. The staff are lovely. But our room that was ready for us wasn't ready at all. Another room given. The changing rooms for the spa are dreadful. I feel that all hotel guests should be given robes in their rooms to wear down to the spa. The pool was full of kids having swimming lessons....not great and certainly not peaceful. The lounge is like a bun fight, the layout is terrible, the county hall is so much better.

We were greeted with complimentary water bottles and very friendly staff. The rooms are quite nice and the breakfast buffet has countless options (including freshly made crepes!) The hotel is very conveniently located for public transit as well.

Terrible front desk on evening . I came in very late looking for a place to stay. Nothing available so I asked to put my luggage inside, to stay safe as a single female traveler, to make some calls and try find another hotel. I was told I could only sit inside for 5 minutes at most. I think Marriott should be ashamed for asking a single female traveler to wait outside of their lobby on the streets. You should really look into that.

Friendly staff! The upper floors are still very much in need of a refresh (but it's in progress). Our beds were quite soft, but we heard there were new ones coming. The concierge team are knowledgable, and friendly but are very much into self serve options (be prepared to be given instructions rather than assistance).

The lounge is well stocked, and the wait staff are outgoing and very personable.

We checked in on the 3rd October, to celebrate my birthday and our 2nd year wedding anniversary. Upon check in we were greeted by a Russian lady receptionist who was superb. The best receptionist iv ever met. My husband had booked a deluxe room, and requested firm pillows.
As the lady checked us in and learnt of our double celebration, she offered to upgrade us. We were pleased to hear this and accepted. When we got to our room #248 I was very disapponted. The room looked very odd, the bathroom drains stank, the sofa was torn, there was no red runner across the bed, the bed itself was lumpy/bumpy and not the classic comfy Marriot bed, no bath mat in the bathroom, tea cups still had lipstick on them from the previous guests, it was shocking. As it was my birthday and determined not to get looked in waiting for various in house services to rectify the issues, we quickly changed and proceeded into London for all the activities we had booked. I have stayed in Marriott in LA, San Franciso, New Castle, Heathrow Marriot countless times, but this room did not meet the Marriot standards upheld by all the other sites and in turn certainly didn't meet mine.
The lady at the reception was terrific and even organised a bottle of wine to be sent up in the evening which was a lovely touch.
I am however a little upset about the condition of the room and felt I had to give this feedback. I feel that as a result, in future I may consider a different group of hotels, as clearly standards cannot be upheld which is a hassle I would rather not deal with.
We were left questioning whether we should have accepted the upgrade or stuck to our original booking?????

Thanks

The appearance of the building doesn't look hotel ...

The appearance of the building doesn't look hotel but cheap terraced house even though inside of the room is not bad. The breakfast buffet was one of the worst buffet that I ever had. Don't waste your money on food in this hotel.

I had issue with my booking. I mistakenly booked the night before that I actually needed. But my (wrong) booking was made around 9pm on that night. As would be easily imagined, they unlikely lose money from my booking. However, they charged me full price for the wrongly-made booking and provided no discount for new booking that I had to make for the night that I needed plus 31 GBP parking fee. I'm a Silver member and from my memory I spent around 30,000 USD on Marriott hotel for my stays for the last 5 years. Staff was not helpful and hotel is surprisingly greedy.

I submitted complaint about this to check if I can pay the wrong booking with my reward point and currently waiting for their resolution. Subject to the conclusion to my complaint, I may not return to Marriott. There is better Hilton hotels in London

Hotel booked through booking. Very nice family room with 2 beds. Very comfortable bedding Too bad the beds are not King size. Despite its small size, the bathroom is very functional. Room facing the main street, a bit noisy! Swimming pool not tested. Clean hotel.
The hotel is very well located, a few hundred meters from a metro station which serves the city center well. You can walk to Camden or to Regent Park.
Very disappointed however with the restaurant. We wanted to have dinner one evening. After half an hour, no one had come to take our order, or offer us to order drinks. The restaurant was full but it's a shame not to see that customers have been waiting for so long. We left unchecked, just the excuse that the restaurant is full.
Breakfast is decent but nothing exceptional.

A great hotel with a good accessibility to London center. Just 5 min. Walk from the Swiss cottage tube station, this hotel offers good size rooms, great amenities and a very good breakfast on the hotel's restaurant. I would definitely return on my next visit!
