Nice old ruin of a building from the outside - unfortunately we didn't have time to do the tour inside which lasts approximately 45 minutes or visit the walled garden. Really nice beach beside it too.

I enjoyed the visit to Loftus. It was closed on the previous occasion I had tried to visit, so I was happy to have seen it this time round. It's actually more of a derelict and old mansion which features scary stories which were quite entertaining. At the end of the group at the end of the tour looking back at the dark halls it certainly felt creepy and I wouldn't go walking around there alone at all if I was ever given the chance. Not sure about the haunted part but it was creepy enough.

(sneaky car parking costs) Loftus Hall is a magnificent house. I would love to see it fully restored to it's former glory, That's for another day, The staff were very friendly a very well organised, the theatricals were very good also, so well done. the cafe was good too, BUT! you book your tickets on line, travel to Loftus Hall from far by car(no public transport so car is pretty much the only form of transport to this place), you arrive to the main entrance gate, you drive down the drive way and you meet this car park barrier.(at this stage your saying I'm going to have to pay for exiting the car park) at this stage your not going to turn around. another way of extracting the last couple of euros from your pocket before you leave!!!!, it's not the money but very sneaky, (Please note veeerrrrrrrrrrry shoorrrrrrrrrrrrrt sighted Quigley family.) It left a bitter pill to swallow!!! if I was in the area again I might pop in for a coffee but not now I think. I would have giving four starts but not for these barriers. (remove sneaky barriers please and I'll return)

Brilliant tour. The guide was brilliant. Really knew his stuff and answered all questions with authority. The cafe had good food and it was lovely. Well priced also. All the staff were warm and inviting and seemed to enjoy what they do. I'll be going back.

The Gardens and Visitor centre are great. Very well looked after and that View! However the tour of the house is not worth the money. Tour lasted 15 minutes and consisted of being shown 5 rooms, all downstairs. No access to main part of House or upstairs. Tour guides themselves were very informative.

Suited for parents with their children. It should be advertised as such. There were very few historical facts and some were not quite correct. The house was filled with Halloween decorations. The lights were off to emphasize the haunted-ness of the house. The guide, Collin I think, was a funny and nice guy, perfect for a children s tour (which is excellent, but must be advertised as such). I was very very very disappointed for having spent 10 euros per adult on this tour.

If your fascinated with a haunting ghost story, this is the place for you. It's a guided tour only. The tour guide was friendly, helped react the 'devil's tale in the card room with audience help. Some younger patrons found this scary! I went to look at the house, it's architecture and history, so was bit disappointed. We got to visit six rooms, including entrance hall, very dark music room, dark card room, 'haunted' bedroom and chapel/prayer room (converted by nuns). Tour was confined to ground floor only. Mosiac tile floor and grand Staircase are marvellous and staircase so well maintained, thanks to paraffin & beeswax applied throughout many years by the nuns. It is one of three, with one on Papal house in Rome and other in the Titanic, which we all know now lies at bottom of Alantic Ocean. The house an on-going extensive repair and conservative project. The walled gardens are beautiful too.

Location, location, location...I love this peninsula, feels like your driving off a long springboard into a voracious sea.

It's the last place one would expect to see such a grand, if sadly neglected, old mansion house. No doubt this dereliction adds to its mystique and allure.

Her accompanying tale strikes a startling parallel with that of Dublin's Hellfire Club.
For a more engrossing take on the myth you might find my book, Twisted Paths, is well worth a look...

Interesting building. Tour guide had excellent showmanship. Some parts very creepy. It's like a real haunted house. Great story behind it too. I liked the craft shop out behind in the courtyard.

Went on a midnight halloween tour here with friends and the tour was awesome, very interesting, let down a little by the zombies with chainsaws and things like that, just didn t add anything to the tour. The stories and the place itself are what make it. I d highly recommend!!

We visited in August. We absolutely loved the tour, Colm was funny and knowledgeable. He answered our questions about the real story of Lady Anne, which he couldn t share when there were kids around. The tapestry room is just so sad. If you re looking for some type of Universal Studios Halloween staged scares then this isn t for you. If you re looking for a once in a lifetime chance of exploring Ireland s most haunted location and hearing the history of the building then this is for you!

Loftus Hall is a must see if you are visiting the Hook Head Peninsula area which is in itself a beautiful place. Very historic and the tours are very enjoyable and informative especially if you have an interest in haunted Ireland. The day tours are an all family event while the night tours are adults only and with good reason. However, if you really want the full paranormal experience the "Lockdowns" are for you. They take place from approx 8.30pm - 03.00am and are conducted by professional paranormal investigators and begin with a tour of the house and it's background which is given by the owner himself - a very friendly and likeable guy who makes you very welcome while the house itself gives you goose bumps. During the Lockdown you get to spend time in rooms and areas that are not accessible on the other tours, and full participation is encouraged by the P. I. Team. It is, in essence, a legitimate paranormal investigation which includes all the professional paranormal equipment and techniques and definitely not for the faint hearted! However, it is an unique experience in an amazing historic and strangely beautiful House and grounds and I would highly recommend the Lockdowns to anyone with a penchant for the paranormal and the regular tours to those who prefer the lights on!

We visited mid covid and in its last year. Our guide was really good and managed the social distancing rules very well.
The tour was good with good use of the decrepit building and our guide built the suspense well.
Sadly no cafe facilities or gift shop open and the place looked ready to close around you. The gardens were pleasent and a nice addition to the house tour but wouldn't be worth it on their own.

Went on an overnight here. It was all a bit innocent but the atmosphere was unlike anything I've ever experienced, with a couple of particular moments. I wouldn't be into spooky feelings but you could feel the history in the building.

Absolutely fantastic place. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in architecture, history or even spooky going ons.
