I instructed Arlingsworth to work on immigration matters for my fiancé. I paid £2000 in advance with the plan to pay the balance of £6500 asap. The day after I paid the £2000 they sent all the 'pro former' letters and standard documents that they just have to click and paste with my details on. after that I had a 19 minute phone call with them. some time later I paid the £6500. ONE week later my life got turned completely upside-down, things happened with my fiancé and her family and we lost any chance of being together. I contacted Arlingsworth and explained this. Baring in mind ONE week had passed and they had not done ANY WORK since the pro-former cut and paste letters and a 19 minute phone call, they refused to refund the £6500. they had £2000 for the work done, which is still a pretty good ROI! but they are outright refusing to return the UNEARNED £6500. They state they are a friendly and ethical company but they are using the small print in their terms and conditions for circumstances that do not apply. Now any time they get a negative review, they just lie and say they have no knowledge of this person as a client! Stay away!!!!

Initially Chris was busy with a client ( by himself unbeknown to me ) and would answer the door .A bit peeved I was considering a poor review on here , however seeing such positive words I thought I would give him a chance . Super simple job but obviously a minimum fee . On meeting him he abologised and wavered the fee . Total respect , genuine excellent person . Many thanks

Chris - you are fine, no issue with you. However the way we were treated by the accountants and senior staff and the issues I raised (including Arlingsworth threatening to drop my case because I asked for an invoice) and the work I did on their behalf. They have not paid their rent for the office since January 2019 and I saw the paperwork with threats of eviction. Never go there, stay away - really awful experience you cannot get out of. I am complaining to the Law Society

We were given Arlingsworth solicitors name by Citizens Advice. From the initial consultation right to the end the experience was very professional yet we also believed that they were sincerely looking out for our best interest (which is unusual for a solicitor). Our situation was extremely complex (I'm disabled and in receipt of benefits and transgender and my partner is Turkish and beautiful). With their guidance, support and a lot of hard work we got the result we hoped for. Although they charge a little more than most for their services, we believe that it is worth every penny. We know how hard they worked on our behalf. The letter they wrote supporting our case didn't leave any room for scrutiny. Every angle was covered and every 'i' was dotted. We received our visa and are now planning our wedding. Rahil and Chris along with all the staff were there for us all the way through the process. We feel extremely lucky to have been passed their name because we had applied before (without their help) and been refused. The solicitor found time to see me the same day as my enquiry on the run up to Christmas. Customer service was polite and friendly, professional but relaxed enough to put one at ease. I just needed a witness to my signature for probate and this work was undertaken without any drama or pretentiousness. Very happy and would recommend their service.

I first went to Arlingsworth because they were local to me in Brighton. I had a complex immigration matter regarding my then fiancee. I was advised by Rahil at the first meeting that he would not take the case on, unless he thought we would have a successful outcome. We then prepared all the paperwork which was meticulously checked by Rahil & Chris to make sure we had all the relevant documents and everything was up to date. My fiancee had to leave the UK to submit an out of country application. Armed with 10kgs of paperwork the application was submitted. After 3 months of waiting my fiancee was refused a visa on a technicality as only the UKBA can. I contacted Rahil & Chris who told me it was better & cheaper and also quicker to reapply again rather than appeal and wait a year to get to the appeal. I then decided to go to Thailand and get married over there, before reapplying. The second application was submitted in January, with a load more paperwork again that was painstakingly checked by Chris to make sure our case was watertight. This time our application was successful. As this all happened over a 2 year period, obviously the law is ever changing. I was advised of every change along the way by Rahil & Chris. So a big thank you to Rahil & Chris from my wife and I for all the hard work they put in over 2 years. I would recommend Arlingsworth, even if you think your case is hopeless, they will show you the light at the end of the tunnel.
