Klotz is the best trail in the region. Hands down. It's no longer marked but try it after a heavy snowfall and you'll be smiling from ear-to-ear. Wish they would clear out some of the trees a bit more, there is so much potential for some excellent glade skiing.

Wonderful trails, overall had a great time, I strongly recommend it. Bit of a drvie if you are coming from Ottawa but totally wprth it. I got the tickets at costco that are $42 vs +/-$56 on site but you have to buy 2 at the same time. Not areally an issue since I see myself coming back pretty soon.

It is worth noting that this resorts is not recommendable for beginners, most trails are pretty hard with more than averga obstacles. Blue runs can be considered black diamomds compared tk what I have seen in other places. All the runs end in a really steep hill, you have to watch out for that if you are just a beginner. Otherwise lots of fun for the upper levels.

LYING ABOUT VERTICAL???

LYING ABOUT VERTICAL???
Just wanted to mention that the vertical of Cheval Blanc (the bigger of the two sides) is 1050ft, NOT 1300. The lifts are fast but the runs and mountain shape in general are awkward and either steep or flat.

Pretty bland resort with not much in or around. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more for lift ticket and drive additional 30 minutes and ski in tremblant. Even on a worst day of the season, it will be a better resort and mountain than the best day at Mont Ste-Marie.

I went on a Friday. At the opening, the grooming was not finished. My friend was a beginner and the only easy slope was not done. In any case, it did not make any difference. It was still so hard and cold once past. At least we gave him a ticket for next time.

Great ski resort and very family friendly. Choice of terrain is great ranging from easy groomers to great steeps. It also has some natural snow trails that will push your limits. Lift lines are never too bad and the choice of food is really good. Great resort only 1h away from Ottawa

Mont Ste Marie is our home away from home. The mountain has such a friendly and welcoming vibe, always good times to be had day and night. The runs are groomed to perfection for all of those ready for first tracks. Then at the end if the day, often live music and good friends and amazing staff are waiting at apre ski. I <3 MSM

Mont Ste-Marie is by far the best mountain close to the city of Ottawa. I'm quite surprised there aren't more people checking it out. It's a little dated, but I find it adds to the appeal. Try the chili!

Some employees approach customers in English and yet I believe that the Mont is well in Quebec ?? Sorry ...
We were warned by an English speaking employee to cover the faces of my 8 year old daughters when I was adjusting the helmets to their heads. The employee in question told me that we are in the red zone and that children under two years old must wear the mask at all times. Euuuuh scuse ... we are orange zone first and children under ten do not have to wear the face cover !! All this for a little two minutes of helmet adjustment and we put the cover back .... vrm pathetic !! The ski center makes its own standards! We are people who respect the sanitary rules and I find it very boring to be approached like bandits and ESPECIALLY IN ENGLISH !!

We drove an hour from Ottawa to ski here. Before leaving our hotel that morning, we checked the ski conditions. Mont Ste-Marie's website said three lifts were open and 11 of the 20 runs were skiable. When we got to the hill, we bought our tickets, and ended up speaking to a Ski Patroller while putting on our boots. He told us only one lift was open, and three runs were skiable, all very icy that day. Had we not spoken to this employee, we would have gone up the lift and had a very boring day doing the same few runs over and over again. We went back to the ticket counter to ask for a refund, which they were able to do as we had just bought our tickets.

If you're looking to go to Mont Ste-Marie, call ahead and speak to someone who will tell you the conditions. Don't get trapped like we did in driving an hour each way to find out the website is inaccurate.

Good ski hill. They have some pretty good runs and two hills. The main hill has some easier runs, which are still rather fun since there are some jumps and hidden areas in the trees.
The second hill has much harder runs, with mostly blacks and double blacks. There is a shuttle that runs from the main hill to this one, however you can just walk or ski to it if you want. There are two trails that lead from this hill back to half way up the main hill.
The food here is decent,.and as usual, overpriced since it is a ski hill. The staff is mostly bilingual as far as I know, and fairly kind. They have quite a lot of sitting space. The tables say that you aren't allowed lunch boxes, but nobody ever abides by that rule because it is pretty ridiculous.
I come here often, since it is pretty close compared to some other hills and never as busy as Camp Fortune. I would recommend this hill for intermediate or advanced skiers. For novice skiers getting down to the bottom may be hard since they closed the only green trail to the bottom so they have to take the blue run. Still, it's a great hill to come to. Five stars!

Not impressed with the lack of labeling for the routes. As someone who hadn't been to this hill before I was very confused as to where to go and where to start. I know we went later in the season but there was lots of ice at the bottom of the bunny hill which I felt should have been marked especially because the bunny hill is where beginners go to learn.
My friend who is just learning bumped her head at the bottom of the begging hill on the ice and it took a long time for medical help to come to check her out. This hill is clearly designed better for skiers than snowboarders.

Great value, especially buying passes at Costco.

Great value, especially buying passes at Costco.

The chalet is very comfortable, perfect for bringing a lunch or eating from the cafeteria. Great bar attached as well.

The hills are well maintained and fun, keeping in mind it's not a huge mountain.

Roads in and out are well maintained, and the employees are all nice!

Definitely a more challenging hill compared to hills closer to Ottawa. While the difficulty and length of these hills were a welcome change, I found them not very well groomed. There were many icy patches and clumps of snow over all the hills.

Wonderful mountain!!!...challenging runs, quality grooming always, 1 of my favorites! have been coming back here for years...fast detachable chairs, no lineups...a bit of a drive, but well worth it... why only 1 stars because:
I guess policies have changed in regards to bringing your own lunch... big signs+stickers on tables restricting bringing your lunch pail... only a very small area in the back of the general dining area + downstairs, were there is no windows to see the mountains and only hard school cafeteria type tables... very uncomfortable!!!...
REALLY... really Mont St-Marie management.. really!!! Forcing people to have to purchase food from your cafeteria to be able to eat upstairs by the windows on soft comfortable chairs...
Well...today I took my lunch pail and i sat right by the window and ate my lunch with no shame!!!. COME ON! I paid my day pass just like everybody else...I never seen or heard of another ski resort having this type of policies! This is a public recreation business where families come and spend hard earned money to have quality time together... they/I should have the right to decide what they/I eat and where!!!
Sorry management...I did not follow your rule...I don't ablidge but this nonsense!!

A disappointed customer!

It's a pretty good all-around mountain, with varied terrain for most ski levels. The lift lines are usually pretty good relative to some other hills. They have a phenomenal ski/snowboard program. The only real downside is that they have an old, awful rope tow for their bunny hill instead of a carpet (there's a new snowmobile sled, but it is just for lessons).

We absolutely love Mont Ste Marie!

We absolutely love Mont Ste Marie!

With 1250 plus vertical feet, it's the only real ski mountain in the Ottawa region. (In fact there are actually two mountains.) Near twice as high as Edelweiss! That means more actual time on the snow.

The grooming is good and the lodge facilities are excellent with a huge cafeteria & grill. Lessons & rentals are available and the small boutique is well stocked.

The pistes are varied and challenging, from Vanier's gentle Radar and steep Carol Ann and Tornade to the "wilder stuff" on Cheval Blanc.

Bonus! It's very hard to find any kind of significant lines at the lifts, even on weekends. No standing around, folks. Ski until you drop!

We love the place.

Good trails. The trails maps could do with some arrows to indicate which direction to ride in. There are certain trails (like Taylor's Tower of Power) which people seem to use to both ascend and descend, which feels kind of risky.

Beautiful mountain and friendly staff. Longest runs that are close to Ottawa. Would give it 5 stars but today Formidable run was not groomed and there were trainings on two other runs at Cheveaux Blanc side leaving less options for skiing on a super busy day. Having hot water in the sinks would be nice in ladies washroom.

Great cheese factory in quaint Montebello. Fantastic selection of cheese and of other fine food. Prices for cheese are much lower than in groceries. Staff is friendly, helpful, and bilingual. It has the charm of a family run business. Make sure to stop if you are in Montebello.

Mont Sainte-Marie is a great place for skiing in the Outaouais. There are many tracks for beginners, intermediates and experts. Although the mountain is not very high in itself, the views of nature are splendid in winter.

Excellent mountain biking. Though please be easy on the trails with this drought. Trails are still good (2020-7-9) but if this drought holds it will deteriorate. Bring mozziespray and swimming gear!

I grew up at this ski hill so I may be a bit biased. A reasonably priced ski ticket gets you access to 7 runs on 2 lifts. There are 2 of these runs with good steep pitches. You won't be missing out. The burgers and steaks in the cafeteria and bar are sourced locally from a farm just down the road. It's worth the stop.

MSM has some nice trails, but until they take steps to provide some sort of infrastructure to visitors this is going to stay a second or third choice destination. It's an hour or more from a city yet they don't see a need to provide washroom facilities?

Decent hill near Ottawa. Good if you want something better than Camp Fortune but don't want to travel to the big hills in Quebec.
It was busy on a Saturday in March but the chair lift lineups still weren't more than 5 minutes.

Heads up, all the runs are rated to be more difficult than they are. I like to stick to the left part of the mountain.
