the hayride is very lame. they don't say it is for little kids in the article, me and my 11 year old daughters were not warned about this and had no fun at all. they should be more explanatory that the hayride is for little kids. we will just go on Hyvee's haunted trail next time. this was a big waste of money.

My first time at the lodge(memorial weekend 2017)....

My first time at the lodge(memorial weekend 2017). Very nice views of the lake and the staff was especially kind, courteous and helpful ( 5 stars for the staff ). I was disappointed that not all the pools were ready to be used and even looked in bad disrepair. There is a beach area but you cannot swim in the water. Some of the buildings are dated and in need of some TLC repairs. The restaurants and lobby looks good and rest rooms clean. It wouldn't hurt to have some more activities and live entertainment, not everyone plays Bingo. All in all it was a nice weekend thanks in part to the staff.

Please like if this helps you to decide.

Clean and beautiful!!! This place was our wedding venue! We loved our whole experience, but somehow they messed up the catering? We ordered steak and salmon to be served and ended up with salmon and pick chops! When we noticed, it was FAR too late to say anything (it's not like they could just go whip up some steaks for all of our guests) but overall, our experience was good! The place was beautiful, and we enjoyed our time- and we're happily married (;

We spent the evening while attending a conference and we're very impressed with the cleanliness and the service. Check in was fast and friendly, there were many amenities to enjoy. The pool is a favorite! Will definitely return!

We were given a room 1/2 a mile away from the main building, with no view to the lake at all. Of course, when they advertise the hotel online, they only show you the pictures of the main building, it's misleading. The building was old, moldy and falling apart, and the room was hideous. We requested a different room and the assistant manager was rude and basically told us she is tired of our complaining and offered to cancel the reservation with a full refund. We happily accepted and found a room at the Camden on the lake resort and it was the best decision. There is no comparison between both resorts. The four seasons needs a renovation badly, I wouldn't even consider staying there until that happens.

Was promised Main Lodge when we reserved online, pushed over to Seasons Bay.
Wife turned on water to take bath it ran brown for 5 minutes! We had a romantic getaway here a year ago but not impressed with room or treatment this time. We wont be back. Thanks for nothing
The saga continues....water spigot came off in wifes hand had to screw it back on! I was taking a luke warm shower and all of a sudden it was scalding and burnt my face!
I thought this was 4 star!

Ok, so i complain to front desk, they move is to the main lodge. My question is...why didnt they give us the room promised if they had it in the first place!

Ok we go to dinner at HKs, my forhead and face are sore and starting to blister. We are seated but it takes waiter 20 minutes to even take our drink order. He then informs us kitchen is behind and our dinners will be half hour late. Ok so 45 minutes later our dinners arrive, they are ice cold i mean not even luke warm. We are not chronic complainers but i do say something to the waiter. He says he can take them back but it will be an hour before he returns with properly prepared food. With tears in her eyes my wife just says we will eat the cold 40 dollar steaks. So, they tell me they will give us 50 percent off steak portion of our steaks only. Ok dont u think they should have done more? Anyway bill comes and its 55 dollars higher than it should be! They charged my card for another tables bill! So after we get it straightened out dinner took almost 4 hours!
Some romantic weekend. Next time i think we will try Tan Tara
#####UPDATE##########

We stayed here July 5th through the 11th, actually extended our stay. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating. Three of the employees really stand out and went above and beyond; Logan, Isaiah, and Nick!!! These 3 made sure each and every guest received the attention they deserved in a very quick fashion. The room was great as were the pools and fire pits. Every item we ordered from the menu arrived quickly and tasted great! We will absolutely be back in the near future. Thanks for a great family vacation.

Had a nice room. The view of the lake was good from the 3rd floor balcony. The pool outside our room was not available due to repairs, but the larger one by the hotel was good. FYI, we were told only the main building had refrigerators in the rooms.
The bathtub drain was slow while taking a shower, so I had a small puddle while I showered.
All in all it was good.

Our couple's ministry last year (2014) had our fir...

Our couple's ministry last year (2014) had our first marraige retreat at The Lodge and had a wonderful experience. The valet, the front desk, housekeeping, and staff were very pleasant and very assisting. The experience from 2014 led us to want to stay at this same location again for this year's (2015) retreat....however, this year was much different.

The valet, front desk, and housekeeping were still very helpful, nice and professional. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the reservation and accounting staff.

Being that this was a conference/retreat, we reserved the Lookout Room (as we did last year because of it's view and eing able to go out on the balcony to take pictures etc. This year, they had the doors locked, we had no access to the balcony, the meeting room was set up with equipment that we did not request and was charged for. We had to call down to front desk to even request for someone to come up and change out the water.

When speaking to the accounting manager in regards to the "final bill" I was informed that our group was being charged for equipment (that we did not request for 2015) but because we requested it in 2014, THEY ASSUMED that we wanted the same thing when the contract stated otherwise; and was trying to charge us almost $1000 for equipment not even used or requested.

The professionalism of the account manager was extremely rude. She was not helpful, kept speaking over me, and informed us that we were not welcomed back to their facility.

I have since, contacted the Better Business Bureau, and also written letters to our local districts, state and national ministries in regards to this location.

SN: Though the location is nice, and for the price that you pay, they could at least put a fridge and microwave in the room. It's $20/DAY for each!

I am all about customer service. I work for a company that thrives on making sure that customers have a "wonderful customer experience!" And when it comes down to having to staff at a place or purchase an item from a location that has poor service; I'd rather spend more someplace that provides the BEST customer service. Attitude reflects leadership...I just hope the management staff is able to take note of how customers should be treated by those who are NOT in leadership position (front desk, housekeeping, etc).

First, the drive in was pretty, the front lobby was specious & eye catching with the firepit and you can hear water falling. We were there as a walk in with 3 kids aged 2, 5 & 12. They were very accommodating to us 'needing' to be near the indoor pool. Only hang us was the room we were in was occupied but they quickly got us a new one. Things happen, no biggie. We went to the pool and it was great! Indoor heated with roll up glass doors leading outside if you want to swim out there. Was a beautiful night so the ambiance was nice with 3 kiddos.....lol. Anyway, room is pretty, nice tv, no mini fridge was the only downside. We ordered roomservice from HK's and it was delicious!!!! We had the club salad with Bleu cheese crumbles and bacon with a delic vinegarette. My two young girls shared the cheese burger & fries and oldest had the rueben, which was huge!! Of couse being a loving protective mother I had to 'test' the kids food :) and everything was great. Beds are comfy, water pressure excellent, room temp perfect, no arguments here. Oh, i forgot to mention, when we did have to switch rooms the manager gave us free passes to the breakfast buffet which was more than I expected and was very nice. Renovations in progress so am excited to come back in a few months with hubby and see how things are coming along. Really having a great time!

Very pretty place. Our sheets had some stains but they replaced them quickly. The shower in the room is pretty sub par. The garden area is gorgeous and a neat place to hang out. The heated indoor pool and large hot tub is nice. I would stay here again, although in my opinion $200 a night is a bit steep in the off season for the size room you get. It is nice though.

Played golf in early May 2018 on The Ridge golf course. All in all, very good day! Takes a lot to get 5 stars and there were a couple of opportunity areas. We arrived by boat, docking in stall 7 as instructed. The dock was under obvious repair as we had to duck under yellow tape to exit. We called the shuttle and they arrived in a golf cart which could not carry 3 dudes and clubs. Driver drove back, got a shuttle and picked us up. 10-12 minute shuttle ride (further than we anticipated) had us later for our tee time. Not a problem as they worked us right in at the register. The cash register attendant clearly needed help as he was overwhelmed with a rush of customers. He was frazzled for sure but got us checked in. The bag and cart guys were good and attentive. The starter was busy in conversation with another employee and gave no direction that would could start. I asked what we were waiting on, after about 10 minutes of sitting there, and the starter said, "nothing, you can go now if you like." So, we went! Course was in good, early season shape. Most greens were in good shape and seemed to putt well. Greens were also soft enough to hold the green on approach shots. The course offers a wide variety of wide open to fairly tight with much undulation. The staff and food at the grill was awesome! Called burgers in on the 9th fairway and they were coming off the grill as we walked in at the turn. Shuttle ride back to the dock and we were good to go home. Overall, good experience. Would probably drive next time unless saving more than 30 minutes by water. Would also do a better job of communicating transportation next time. For example, calling earlier and give a description of needs as opposed to expecting them to guess. (edited 7/4/18 to clean up some "auto-corrected" words from mobile phone - MB)

First off we were lied to from the start, was told they have 5 restaurants on site, all open, NOT none were open! Ok if you consider open whenever they decide to open. Host signed us in was not helpful at all! Souvenir shop closed, when we found the good hot tub on our own it only had one working jet! Asked others staying there also, they were disappointed too! A security guard asking people to show proof they were guests was very annoying walking around the pools! Fire and ice if you put in food order, it comes in a plastic container made at another restaurant and was cold! This place is 8 hours away from us, would stay again but must improve before we do.

My wife and I stayed here while we were down doing some house shopping. Upon checking in the night attendants facial expressions gave the impresssion that we were bothering her. The room was a far walk with little to no direction given except walk back out the main door to the parking lot and look to your right.

The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately being an older building the heater had to run pretty much all night on 76 because as soon as it shut off you could feel the draft from outside. The bathroom is absolutely FREEZING as their is no circulation for the heat. We decided to stay here because of the hot tub and pool, but upon arrival we learned that we would have to walk outside about 200-300 yards in 22F. Temps!
We did order room service desert only and it was amazing and the service was quick. All in all it was not worth the money for a one or two night stay.

The hotel has received some updates such as the Japanese garden and pool and those areas are nice. When we were checking in they couldn't find our reservation and the front desk did everything they could to accommodate us and get us a room. Very much appreciated and very professional. We stayed in one of the garden rooms and it had been updated somewhat but the shower seemed older and outdated. There was a fireplace in the room which was great but it was an older gas unit and it seemed to have a gas leak when it was lit so we didn't use it. We were attending a conference and they have nice meeting rooms. The main building has the look of a rustic Lodge and is very nice. We didn't try any of the onsite restaurants so no comments there. Overall a nice place to stay and hopefully they will continue with updating guest rooms.

It had been a three or four years since our group stayed here and last time the service was really good however the hotel was straight out of 1986. I was excited to stay here this past summer knowing they did an expansive makeover and thought it was brought up to a modern day feel. Although the lobby, main restaurant and bar are very nice, you can tell they skimped on the rest of the remodel. Crumbling concrete/rock, dirty carpet in rooms and showers with mold. What sealed the deal for me in never staying here again was the ice machine near our room - it might be the worst thing I've ever witnessed in a hotel, even CHEAP motels. The mold growing in the ice machine closet (picture attached) was way out of control and obvious it had been going on for years with no concern by the hotel maintenance or management. Minor complaint because you're at the lake and should be outside but the wi-fi cut in and out way too much to even use it. So outside we went! (if you have a teenager good luck though! :)

I have mixed feelings about my stay.. first, our room was comfortable and pet friendly. The room was missing some amenities ie: book showing what is available at the resort. no cups, handtowels or washcloths in the room. Secondly, No directional signs inside and outside buildings. Once inside had to guess which hallway room was located. Lastly, interior halls in desperate need of updating.
I must say the staff was very friendly and accommodating.....

The lodge was nice. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. There were several places within the resort where we could eat, and the food I tried was good but pricey. Our room was fine, but strangely there were a few light bulbs missing from the lamps in the room and the bed spread had some weird stains on it. Otherwise very nice, and the bathroom was huge with a whirl pool tub and a huge shower. There's even a second TV in the bathroom! The views were beautiful and we had a large patio to lounge around on.

This place is absolutely incredible. I ended up staying here over the weekend and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious, the tub was fit for a king and the view is nothing short of spectacular. The staff is very friendly and willing to go over the top for everything. I would highly recommend this resort. If you have the opportunity to stay here, I would recommend checking out their spa. Very relaxing! There are 3 pools, an outdoor bar, an inside bar, and two awesome restaurants. Thank you for a great weekend!

Wife and I have been frequent visitors to the Lodge for the past 6 years and even got married there, but our July 2016 trip wasn't pleasant. Pool was filthy, had to wait 30 minutes just to get our checks at the restaurant both nights and it goes on and on. It's clear that the Lodge is under staffed and management is substandard. Will not come back until something changes.

The room was very neat and clean when we arrived. Large flat screen. The pool bar wasn't open due to rain which was a bit of a disappointment, but the main restaurant was open and we had two delicious drinks during happy hour. The pool needed to be cleaned (as there were leaves and debris,) but the waterfall was beautiful. We were uprgraded to a suite due to overbooking which was nice. They also offered us a complimentary crib (we have an infant.) Very relaxing experience. I would highly recommend.

Great holiday alternative when your house is too full. I've loved going to the movies and pool here since I was a kid. The rooms are no less impressive and the fire places are great in the winter. The gym is also nice for a quick workout.

I love the lodge. Been going there for 20years. Great location, right as you get into the ozarks. The staff is excellent. I swam in the outdoor pool with the grotto. We had a conference there with a bunch of people. We had drinks out there in the garden at night by the new fire pit. Lake views every where. They have anything you want to do.
