Great food. Amazing rooftop atmosphere! Great view of the strip of downtown Gatlinburg. They had a talented singer on the roof playing the guitar and it made for a very romantic evening. They even had two fire pits to keep us warm while we ate and enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend asking to wait for a rooftop table. They said it would be about a half hour wait for our table but it actually only took 15 minutes.

Really cool atmosphere, food was good. However, the service was not that great. To start, the beer I ordered was not available. Our server actually told me we don t have that, never have that, don t even knkw why it s on the menu . Of course I needed to look at the drinks again, and they were busy enough that he left me to that, but was A WHILE before returning to our table to get my drink order. To the point, I figured that I wouldn t have time to order and receive a drink before getting food and finishing it. When our food was brought out I requested sour cream. The gentleman acknowledged my request, said ok, and then NEVER RETURNED. Food was good, service not so much.

Delicious food, was really a relief among all the hamburger chains. Your soda will be refilled over and over but not charged. Chicken fajita had a blast to see and taste. Service cozy and friendly. The only downside was that the fan turned very hard and we got very cold during dinner.

The only thing that has Mexican is the donkey hat, the music of the place does not go with what they advertise, who has visited other restaurants in this line of mexican Grill can see the difference with roast beef and their companions.
The attention is average and to get to the restaurant you have to go up an escalator so you should put the menu on the door so you do not have to go up and know if we would like or not eat in the place.
It is very spacious and clean.

Food was good, but the was very little for the price!! On top of that when I asked for the green salsa that you would get for free at any Mexican restaurant, they tried to charge me $1.99 for one small cup!! Worst service.....

You may have thought you've had fajitas before, but unless they were from Loco Burro, you are mistaken. We ordered the LG chicken and steak fajitas....what arrived at our table had obviously been marinated in deliciousness, and literally left us questioning all Mexican food that had come before. #mindblown We will be back.

The food and service were excellent. My gf was raving about their fresh made guac. The atmosphere fits right into a tourist town. Won't be able to come back since it was a vacay visit. Wish I had snapped a pic of El Toro. It was was really well plated.

Looking for fresh Tex-Mex while in Gatlinburg? This is your place! The waiters here excellent and are quick to tell you everything is made from scratch. Everything we had sure tasted like it and I was surprised by the quality of the items we received. The Shredded Chicken Tacos were amazing! The only downside to this place is the wait they have sometimes. For us, it took an hour between being seated, and then getting our food. After tasting the food however, we could not complain haha. Will definitely be visiting again!

Best part of the meal was the chips (not sauce) and margarita. Food had very little flavor. My husband and I love Mexican food, and this was the worst we have had. Not impressed with the appearance of the wait staff either.

Hostis was the worst both of them and one was verry rude and disrespectful after losing us in the wait list to be seated. We were told 30 to 35 mins at 45 mins after seeing several others that came in after us be seated we asked and she said she would check . So as we sat waiting we watched others come in and get seated as there were many open tables so at 54 min I asked again and she started looking in the list till more customers came in then started waiting on them as she told them she would take there same size group to tabe I asked as I was still standind there and I was told she would get to me in a min. I turned and asked for a Manager from the next worker I seen. He came and apologized and looked for when we were put in and had to go back several pages. After that we were seated instantly and service was really good but prices are the highest I've ever seen for a Mexican Restaurant and it's not that nice or clean of a building and definitely did not have that good of taste.

Great food. This was my first visit and I was impressed. They have a very unique atmosphere throughout the restaurant. I suggest you get there early, others have heard about this place too! We had an hour wait. Totally worth the wait. They send you a text when your table is ready, then they give you ample time to make it back to the restaurant to claim your table.

We were very disappointed by our experience here. We asked to sit up on the rooftop patio because we were so excited about it! The host sent us up the stairs and we were greeted by another host. We pointed out a table that we were interested in. The host completely ignored us and sat us at a different table. Then there was about a 15 minute wait before a waiter ever came to our table. A waitress actually came by and asked if anyone had seen us yet. We told her no and she went and got him. He was terribly slow. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time because we had already been waiting for a long time and didn't want to wait any longer to place our orders. It took about 10 minutes for our margaritas to arrive and 15 minutes for our waters. He messed up my drink order but I didn't want to send it back because it took another 15 minutes for him to come back and I wasn't trying to wait 30 minutes for a new drink. It took even longer to receive our food. The food was actually not terrible, it tasted fine and was worth the price. It was a really big portion although it was cold by the time we received it. Again, it took him a long time to come back with the check and he assumed we were on one check instead of asking so we had to wait again while he fixed those. My water was never refilled the entire time I was there even though it was empty before I even received my food. They did leave comment cards with the bill so I filled it out and left it with the hostess when I left. Like I said, the food was actually okay, but the terrible service will make me never go back.

This place is amazing! It was the best Mexican food I have ever had and the portions are huge. We stopped by here on our vacation from Savannah Ga and our children really enjoyed the outdoor top deck. I would suggest everyone try this place if you are visiting Gatlinburg!

The good...our server Larry. He was fantastic. The bad...everything else. The complimentary chips and 2 salsas, a roasted tomato and a chipotle (I believe) were not good. The chips were very unevenly salted, some had enough to gag you and others didn't have a grain. The roasted tomato salsa tasted like someone dumped the salt shaker in the tiny bowl brought to the table. 5 meals that were underwhelming and overpriced. Two orders of beef tacos that were okay. The consistency of the beans was not good, they looked watery. The beef taco salad was served with an entire lettuce patch including the core of some iceberg lettuce that was mixed in with the darker greens. The taco meat was also cold. The grilled Baja Fish Tacos were too expensive for what you got. Two tacos both with a TINY chunk of fish on them. The fish was cold. They overdid the pickled onions on them as well. Black Bean and chicken burrito was lackluster. The rice it was served with tasted as if they just dumped taco seasoning on it. It was well over $70 in food not well spent. Parents and 3 teenagers left very annoyed at the whole experience. Would not recommend unless you want to up your blood pressure from all the salt or retain water for days. Try another place.

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but from the very moment we got to the top of the escalator, the staff just weren t very welcoming. Salsa was delicious! Food was good. But we sat for well over 5 minutes before being greeted or having a drink order put in. Our server seemed agitated the entire time leading up to our food coming. I won t name our server because she wasn t the only one we noticed with poor customer service. If I were to come back I d hope to see more smiles, make your customer feel like you re happy to serve them. Not like you re counting down the time to closing!

The salsa is good, but hostess sucks! She is standing inside the door. She should step one step outside then you would not have such mess at the door. As a side note our waitress said she does not like Mexican food. Really? Learn to find something you like.

From the streets of Gatlinburg, the Loco Burro seemed inviting. An escalator transports visitors effortlessly to the festive second floor cantina. Loco Burro's boast of a great guacamole appetizer lived up to its claim. The Baha Fish Tacos, made from Mahi Mahi - grilled or fried - was beyond scrumptious. It was presented as beautifully as it tasted. The frijoles on rice was pleasantly spicy.

Others in my party equally enjoyed their entrees of steak quesidilla, taco salad (huge!), and chimichangas. The authentic Spanish rice pleased all who tasted it.

I rarely give five stars to a restaurant, but the Loco Burro certainly deserves it. I even bought the T-shirt.

Sat on the roof for a late dinner. Great views, waitress was a student from Romania and provided awesome service. Food was tasty, fast and lots of chips and salsa to get started. One man band for entertainment. Will go again if we get back to Gatlinburg.

Solid Mexican food, good portion sizes. Margaritas were strong, but the pitcher wasn't worth the money. Just get separate margaritas. The pitcher was basically 4 regular margaritas and price wise it was slightly more expensive than 4 margaritas.

Wait staff was accommodating and quickly corrected an order they got wrong. Everything was timely, served hot.

My party had quesadillas, burritos and fajitas. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the fajitas got a special award for being phenomenal.

The Sangria was the weakest part of the meal. It was basically red wine on ice with a small amount of fruit. Not like any Sangria I've had before.

Would definitely recommend. Chips and salsa were awesome.

Margaritas and food were great, had three kinds of salsa, and had clear vegetarian options that could be modified to vegan. Rooftop has super view. Fun atmosphere. Service kind of slow, and one occasion messed up order with no remediation.

I didn't expect much from this place, but I was amazed by the food AND the service here. I highly recommend eating on the roof; it's the only joint in Gatlinburg where you can eat quality Mexican food while looking at the mountains in TN

Just left here and I have never been as frustrated spending $48.88 as I am. I am not sure if those rating this place a "5" are paid, lack the ability to taste or what but I cannot comprehend the thought of anything"amazing" about this food and their prices. $7.99 for a freaking chicken tenders kids meal and that does NOT include a drink?! The food was not close to fresh and I have never had anything taste so generically bland. I order taquitos. How do you screw up chicken and cheese in a fried corn tortilla? If you ever wondered then go here. $7.99 for a zero taste corn tortilla soup? I understand Gatlinburg is a tourist trap town so prices are usually sky high for garbage food but this takes the cake. I would sincerely be ashamed and embarrassed to serve 2 tacos for $10.99 and up depending on the meat. There was only 1 actual entree ordered, 1 soft drink and no alcohol yet we still spent almost $50. For anyone who has common sense avoid this place. You can find a better meal at McDonald's downstairs.

They carded my wife (in her 60's ) and I spoke with the manager about it. He told me it was a State Law and Everyone is carded in this State. I was offended.
We went up the road later and and had mixed drinks and never once did they require I.D. LIARS.....

Our family went to Gatlinburg this past summer, and Loco Burro is the best Mexican food we have ever had!! Hands down!
We are still talking about it!
Great atmosphere and we had the best waiter!
The view was amazing from the roof!

My wife and I have been visiting Gatlinburg at least twice a year for the last couple of decades. We've eaten at most places, and have our favorites of course, but last night we wanted to try some place we've never been. That was our first time, and will definitely be our last.

First problem was the entrance. You go up an escalator. Pretty cool. Until you realize that the hostess bar is right at the very top. So many people clustered around the top that we barely had enough room to step off. With more and more people coming in, and nowhere to step off, people were literally falling all over each other. Horrible design.

The good news is were were seated fairly quickly at an inside table. Shannon was our waiter, and bless his heart, he tried. He really did. He brought us chips and salsa, took our drink orders, and went away. The chips were great. Really thin and crispy. It's too bad we didn't have good salsa to dip them in. Three salsa offerings...not sure what they were. Some sort of salsa fresca, some bright green salsa (maybe some tomatillo salsa) that tasted like wild onions, and some brownish salsa. We weren't impressed.

By the time our drinks were brought to us we were ready to order. Placed a pretty simple order. Arroz con queso with steak and an order of chicken fajitas. And we waited. Finished our drinks (cokes). And waited. No waiter. Didn't even see him in the restaurant. Finally some guy (I assume maybe the manager) started walking around asking people how they were doing. We asked him for refills which he provided. Finally get our food....

The arroz con queso arrived wrong. It was a steak/chicken combo instead of just steak as ordered. The fajitas, also wrong, were delivered as steak instead of chicken. My wife just agreed to eat the arroz con queso. I sent my steak fajitas back to get the chicken I ordered. Let's talk about "queso". This was no queso. It looked (and tasted) like someone put a slice of white american cheese on top of the meat and just hope it melted. No flavor at all. The rice was mush. The chicken she got was OK. I wish I would have been so lucky with mine.

The fajitas...ugh. The chicken for the fajitas was bone dry and tasteless. The peppers had been cooked until they were just stringy, limp red and green pieces, whereas the huge hunks of onion (not slices, hunks) had barely seen any heat at all. The charro beans were nothing but mush with absolutely zero flavor. There were no spices used at all that I could tell. Maybe a pinch of salt if that. No cilantro. No lime. Nothing. There was also supposed to be a side of rice, which I realized I never got. At that point I didn't care, I just wanted the meal to be over. If the rice would have been anything like what my wife got for her meal then it was no great loss anyway.

Maybe we caught them on a bad night. Maybe our waiter was new and in training. To his credit, he did get the fajitas corrected within minutes. Still, we will not be going back.
