We took 10 elderly people for Christmas lunch today and it was a wonderful experience! The waiting staff were thoughtful, kind and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the ladies were so pleased they said it was the best Christmas meal they had been to! Thank you for making them happy

Stayed overnight attending wedding. Location excellent, food excellent, rooms excellent, service excellent,. All staff were freindly, helpful and efficient. Would certainly use this hotel again for any function

Coffee morning was enjoyable. Coffee comes with lovely shortbread but nothing alternative for anyone who doesnt eat shortbread.

Attended for family wake,friendly and helpful staff saw to all our needs.

Delightful lovely setting to look the view of Torquay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Fantastic Twixmas weather helped a lot and we had a great time on the beach with our dogs. The proximity of the beach is super. The hotel has an old world charm and some areas would benefit from updating but the room was clean and comfortable, though a little hot. Food was fine though when the breakfast chef had a day off, the standard did drop a little. Staff and service were excellent. Parking is always available. We've stayed there twice in 2016 for short breaks and look forward to going back again in a couple of months time.

Lovely food well presented. Staff are attentive kind helpful and professional. Prices are average , would recommend a visit.

The hotel is in an excellent position, the only hotel in Torquay literally next to the sea. It was lovely to sit in our Seaview room watching the boats etc, or simply, the sea. We also had a couple of afternoons sitting in the sun, enjoying a drink on the excellent terrace. 1
The staff in all areas were excellent, friendly, helpful and professional.
The food, we had bar snacks and ate in the restaurant, was really good.
The only downside was, our room and the lounge area were looking a little tired but, apparently, they were about to undertake renovations when covid struck and only a few rooms were completed
Overall we enjoyed our five night stay and would happily return

No kettle in room, shower leaking, door to shower off runners, dated decor

Such a friendly clean and tidy Hotel all staff had a smile and happy to help, and believe me I'm very choosy! It was also lovely to see they were dog friendly. Menu was excellent and catered for all tastes, the views were beautiful looking out to sea, the only downfall was our room was a tad small and very very hot but ok for one night, it was a pity our room was over the kitchen door as heard the staff talking in the early hours when they were stood in doorway, the shower room very clean and modern with plenty of room to manoeuvre about, breakfast was very confusing for the staff maybe they should be allocated certain tables as at least five staff approached to ask the same question, the only thing that needs urgent attention is the way the young blonde catering manager spoke to the staff when she entered the kitchen, if I was shouted at like that I would walk out!

Hotel is extremely dated. Double bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable but childs single bed was soft and he slept OK. There was damp around the windows along with thick black slime?! Each corner of the room had large thick cobwebs. There More

Just needed a bed for the night during a house move but had to be a hotel that took dogs. Best Western Livermead Cliff was the perfect location but turned out to be a little gem. Staff very helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Although hotel was quiet service was still excellent & overall hotel standard very good. Would definitely recommend.

Supurb location. Extremely relaxing atmosphere. Drinks on the terrace watching the sunset is a privileged experience :-)

We walked past as it said it had a beer garden. We were lucky with the weather, the views were amazing, and so were the staff. So much so, if we come back to Torquay we are thinking about staying here.

Didnt book but the reception staff were wonderful .perhaps ill book in summer

On arrival we were well greeted. When we got to our room it was nice. However needs updating. One of the beds was broken the mattress had broken springs. The view was breathtaking however the windows were not cleaned and room wasn't cleaned regularly. We had to keep requesting for things that should have already been provided. The manager was very nice and always helped. For the price we paid we could have got somewhere more special. But our breakfast was really good and as I said the view are amazing... Just needs some updating.. Thank you..

I only been at this hotel for one night. Room was okay apart from the bathroom, the drainage of the bath was very slow, from a shower nearly had a bath, the water was just accumulating into the bath.
Another problem that I had was my window, very dirty, looked like some really thick dust with the rain made it to look really dirty. On the stairway, the window had dead flies. Location is great though.

Old tried decor.... Hot rooms.... Good views from our room.... Overall disappointed.

Lovely hotel that we've stayed in several times. Terrace overlooks the sea which is a good way to relax with drinks and bar snacks. Dogs allowed in the guest rooms - but not in the bar area which limits the "dog friendlliness".

Excellent place.beds clean and comfortable and the breakfast was superb

Enjoyed coffee and delicious shortbread biscuits on the lovely terrace overlooking Torquay Harbour. Happy to recommend.

No air conditioning, rooms are uncomfortably hot, double room we were in wasnt large enough for two people to walk in comfortably!

at very short notice they put on a fabulous high tea for us staff were amazing would recommend with out a doubt

An excellent experience. We were looked after so well. Sadly, a friend's wake but the hotel is so cosy and welcoming, itc was the perfect place to relax and catch up with friends, and family.

Terrible visit, for the money we paid it wasn t worth it. Bed was small and uncomfortable, was just a bed on the room, out window overlooked houses getting renovations, shower never got hot.
Just not worth your money for a best western.

Awesome place, owned by friends. Although we only used the venue for dining, the rooms have recently been re furnished and are in great shape

Not a business class hotel. Very small rooms and bathrooms are really crammed.

If i could give a 0 i would absolutely awful hotel looks dated leaks in the corridor, lifts like cages, receptionists so rude no manners at all. No hot water goes from scalding to freezing, taps pressure means the water pumps intermittently. Beds are so small mine and my partners legs were hanging off the bed and i am 5ft5. Old bedding we were told to think ourselves lucky ht the receptionists that we had an updated room DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

It was the first time l visited livermead cliff it is the sort of hotel l would stay in staff very helpful and polite and also very clean

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly, the room is dated but is clean

Stayed last night, staff are great, but the accomodation is so dated. The carpets are dirty, the bathrooms are old and dirty and furniture and beds are very old. Hairs in the bed and rooms and corridors too hot. No water provided in the rooms and all rooms need decorating and updating.

The Hotel boasted some wonderful sea views with a small public beach accessible through a rear gate of the hotel. Notwithstanding this, we can recommend the delicious food and the superb service provided by all members of the staff.
It was apparent that many of our fellow guests visit the hotel time and time again and knew most of the long term staff by name and also knew many of the other guests from previous visits.
The friendliness, cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff together with a second-to-none location ensured an enjoyable and relaxing visit.

Ok but hot coffee cups difficult to hold as they spill easily. Otherwise perfect in every other way.

Only had coffee but were enquiring about an event & staff were very helpful.

Very tired and dated, much in need of a refresh. Rooms lack air-conditioning and outside can be noisy. Bathrooms do not have thermostatic showers and food is not of the highest of qualities.

Almost impossible to contact without ogwit on an 03 number or only able to contact through email if confirming a booking . Please, we need to speak with someone without spending a fortune waiting in a phone

Had a lovely meal. Then sat out on terrace to watch fireworks to mark the beginning of Torbay Regatta. Staff very attentive + helpful.

Had a wonderful stay at the Livermead Cliff Hotel. The staff were attentive, helpful and very friendly. The food was very good and the service could not have been better.

Hospitality and service are very good. Drinks are expensive, though it's expected. Location is lovely with stunning views of the bay. Have been to lots of weddings here and they are always good.

Great Hotel and Staff were excellent. Already planning on another stay for next year..........
