I should of checked the YELP REVIEWS !!!!!! ugh

I loved this facility until I met some of the owners behind scenes. At a holiday party the kids were having I came to pick up both of my kids and the owner was there in the lobby directing traffic. I told them when I registered my children (two) I said it is so important that I be able to go to the infant room meet the teacher and engage about the baby. The tour was nice but it is important to question why part of the registration process isn't meeting the staff. The day of the holiday party the owner shouted "I do not care who gave you permission to get escorted to the infant room for your child, but I am the owner and I am saying absolutely not, please step back behind the line and wait till they bring your child to the front". All of this was after I waited 15 minutes for both children because of the holiday party for parents and children!!!!! I have never been spoken to in such a disgusting manner, all for asking to go see my baby. Other staff called later to apologize on his behalf but this a man around my kids. So if you are ok with an escort bringing your child to you and this nasty owner that is only there when something goes wrong go for it. I should of been told I can go to the back ONLY WHEN THE OWNER IS NOT PRESENT. On a regular day I made it to the secret caves of little sponges but this day was awful.

Little Sponges is a profusely over-rated and highly cheap daycare facility where only curriculum for younger children is acceptable and spell-binding/magnificent teachers such as Mrs. Maxine were helpful and fostering. Other than that, it is a small rather family owned business, and over the years the facility has deteriorated. The play place is never used even though of it's upscale features that kids can use. The summer camp and after school is perhaps the worst part, due to lack of activtites, budget, and more long-hours of pain my children would complain about. Computer room is not functoning, and the girl's bathroom where they change has cameras, for peepers to look at underage girls. Infants are confined to a very small room with several beds, and the owners never care for any complains, if they do, then they should respond to this. Beware of summer camps/after care that has super long bus rides, and a waste of money. But, the other programs are affordable and were full of memories. However, that's the thing with daycares, take Sunnyside from Toy Story, and from personal experience, you care for the kids with so much love, but they develop into God knows what? They forget about the times, but I congratulate Sponges, for being a part of my childhood and my kids, but there are some improvements I've suggested above!

Could be better but your child is never the first priority to them at all

I have been working in Little Sponges for an average of four years as a Teacher. I've been giving the opportunity to move up with the same group of kids seeing how much they have learned and how far they have come truly amazes me. Little sponges offers a variety of programs including music, dance, art among many other activities. This year my kids will be graduating and I feel they are more than ready for kindergarten.

When I first put my children here I loved it. The lady that owns the daycare is wonderful, the teachers are wonderful, the bus driver is awesome, and so are some of the staff and teachers. Due to a few of the staff there and other issues, I have grown to strongly dislike little sponges. A few years ago one of the staff members Yakira Smith threatened me via facebook apparently she couldn t keep whatever personal issue she had with me separate from her job. One staff member reported me to cps for giving my kid a freaking slurpee, the current assistant director is very rude and at times extremely unprofessional, as well as the previous assistant director that worked there. There is a guy that works there who is extremely unreliable. He got my school bus service suspended for about three months because he forgot to relay a message. When I got to the school they explained to me that the school bus service had to be suspended because I didn't let them know my child wasn't getting on the bus. I explained to them that I called the school HOURS before and spoke to the man who was the only one available when I called (he denied ever speaking to me BTW) because everyone was "in a meeting". I even showed them my call log to prove that I called. Of course they took his side, they're all family there. I didn't have a car at the time so I eventually had to take my child out. There is way more that goes on at this school, from reporting phony things to child services to an overly nosey secretary, I can't get into it right now because it's way too much to type. Every time I go to little sponges I feel like I'm being set up or something. I hate coming to little sponges so much. I can't wait until the day my son finishes. I am very happy I took my daughter out.

My daughter is 4, she is in PreK 4, that's her 3 rd year in Little Sponges. She LOVES it, she leaves my house happy and she comes back happy (even more excited on Friday for Show and tell!) I also have my 2 years old there , that's his 2nd year and it is the same thing he leaves my house happy and comes back happy . I really love their program (the kids learn a lot!) and how they treat my kids. I feel like they are a big family. And the more important is that my mind is always at ease because I know my children are safe there! I love the facility (dance room, gym, indoor playgroung, library, etc etc) and lunch is included. Definitely recommend that place! :) Lily

Had a good experience being a teacher but very bad experience being treated fairly as an employee. 4 months after I quit I'm still getting calls about checks that didn't get cashed... it's just very stresseful and unsatisfying as a hard worker.

I have been blessed for the past 4.5 years at Little Sponges. Little Sponges is a nurturing home away from home. LS is great for working parents that need a safe environment for their children while they work. With all the dangers and situations going on in our society what I prefer most about LS is the security. Children's SAFETY is number ONE at all times. Little Sponges has the best secured Day Care in Long Island. Little Sponges is a safe environment which is highly monitored to ensure the safety of the children. At LS my daughter received the best care possible, with a great foundation that continues to carry her at 2nd grade. She was ahead of the game before starting 1st grade with reading and math. What's most important is not what we need but what our children need to succeed and be safe. My son is in Pre-K 3 and he loves his teachers and classmates. He is learning so much and continues to excel. When he was an infant, he had some developmental issues but I thank Little Sponges for their diligence and recognizing the needs of my child. My child is now able to be independent and I owe this to Ms. Linda Castro for all she has done for my children and the love she showed throughout the years.
I highly recommend Little Sponges, if you are looking for Child Care and you are seeking a nurturing, loving academically based program, you will fall in love with Little Sponges.

It is natural feeling of great satisfaction for any parent to know that each day while they are at work their child goes to a place where they are loved and cared for by people who have the same values, hopes and dreams for their children. It is rare that you can find people you trust with your most valuable investments in life; your children. Little Sponges goes beyond that and over the past 2 years, Little Sponges has become part of our extended family. Our daughter is about to graduate from PreK4 & in addition to the social & behavioral skills she has acquired over the past year, we were blown away last week when she picked up a book and read a sentence to us. We?d like to thank the entire staff at Little Sponges, and especially Linda, Kirk, Ms.Kelly and Ms.Maxime for all their hard work, patience and determination. You guys are awesome Quotes

I love the happy, friendly feeling you get each day here. I have been teaching the Pre-K 4 program here for many years and feel respected and cared for. There is a big focus on academics with the little ones, unlike many other places in the area. The kids are so sweet and the teachers truly care. The management is kind and quick to help. I would recommend this fun, safe and educational place to anyone.

In order for little sponges to get any good reviews, they Literally have to make their employees leave them lol. Most parents leave low reviews after experiencing their bs. But the staff leave 5 stars. How sway

Don t bring child here my son was bite 4 times in one week.. The response from management was that is toddler behavior . I m an educator an that is not an excuse.

I have been working in Little Sponges for almost 2 years and I am happy here the staff is super friendly, everybody gets along and we are like family. The kids are amazing, they re given many tools to promote developmentally appropriate practices and activities. I would definitely recommend this job to people who love working with children.

My teachers were nice but they asked me personal things and it made me feel very uncomfortable

At first I was very please with the daycare but I picked up my daughter this past Friday and the boyfriend told me that his girlfriend stated she can t watch my daughter anymore because my daughter stated she didn t like the food and because she stated she wanted Burger King or McDonald s. My daughter is only 6yrs old and all they had to do was ask me to bring her own food. Also I felt they were prejudice against my daughter because we aren t Spanish.
That was very hurtful, they don t know my situation and they don t know what my nationality is.
They stated my daughter was causing the other children not to eat.

That is foolishness and they won t prosper for what they did. That was horrible how Ms. Digna and Jose treated my daughter and I.

I have the pleasure of knowing my children are safe and well cared for while I am at work. I currently have a 9 month old and 4 year old who attend Little Sponges. The app, Kidreports, gives me the assurance that my children are well cared for (knowing diaper changes, when my child eats, pictures throughout the day). The teachers are all very loving and caring. My son who is in Pre-k 4 has learned tremendously this year. He is reading sight words, adding math problems, recognizes letters and letter sounds. The indoor play ground and gym area are a favorite for my son.
