Great time on hayride and pumpkin picking tasty treats.
I agree with the rest of this year's reviews. This place must have gone down the drain because it was awful. If you think you need to use the restrooms, HOLD it until you get home or even to the nasty gas station down the street because I guarantee this place's bathrooms are much worse. Their corn maze wasn't even open, so we spent $4/person on a hay bale maze that my 1-year-old solved by himself in 5 minutes. Then, we went to the playground where you are supposed to pay $1 per child. There are rotting apples (notice no bugs!) all over the playground. Their store prices are WAY above what they should be. I expect top-quality organic for those prices. Then, at the apple picking, yes. There were very few bugs. Any place that hadn't been spread heavily - and I mean HEAVILY - with pesticides would have been SWARMING with bugs from all the fallen apples that hadn't been cleaned up, but nope. I saw maybe 5 bugs in my entire walk through the orchard. It wasn't worth the trip.
It's a nice free way to spend the day. I only do the free stuff with my daughter. But you can pay for a hayride or train ride. The store is cool since there are some fun finds. I always get the apple cider donuts, they are so good. I've done apple picking there as well which is fun but felt costly... I gave away most of my apples. The playground is ok, my daughter doesn't mind but it seems like it could be better taken care of.
Great family experience, I ve been coming here since I was a child myself. It s always a good time here.
Always a part of our fall traditions. We pick a lot of apples before we choose our pumpkins. The store has great fresh food items, and there is a kids play area too.
Very busy at key holidays but worth it. Be prepared for parking delays.
Its gotten a little over crowded over the years and needs more land to expand. The lines are annoyingly long and parking is crazy.
What's not to love about Linvilla. No one makes Apple Cider donuts better than Linvilla. I grew up coming to Linvilla, and my children are too.
Fun place and though out the year there are different things to do like pick strawberries or apples
It was great. Hadn't been there over 20 years. Bought some large Mums for a great price. I will be going back.
Nice local farm, great place to take kids lits to do .
Beautiful place with good social distancing practices in place.
I love it best when in season. Although from January thru March all vegetables are,50% off!
Each year we order a apple, walnut, caramel pie for pickup first thing Thanksgiving morning. It is a family tradition. When we opened the pie after dinner, we discovered that it was a "DIY" caramel pie because the company that usually provides their pies was closed. The replacement pie was a gelatinous, slimy mess and deemed inedible by all. When I called the next day, Wayne, the general manager, asserted that in fact he thought "the new pie was delicious, even better than the version of pie I had ordered" year after year. His behavior on the phone was defensive, unreasonable and downright rude. He wanted me to drive the 30 minutes back to the bakery to personally show him the pie remnants so that he could judge for himself whether the pie was as bad as I had described. Geez..... So much for customer service for loyal clientele.
The Decorations were Beautiful and the Parking was Ample. The Staff was Helpful. The Pumpkin prices were average But the Prices of Food Stuffs and Seasonings were Dollars Higher than the Grocery Store and were, Buy Anywhere, the same as in Food Stores. The Pies and Cakes, which are No Longer Made on Site but Brought in by other Companies like Mrs. Smith's, were Very Expensive. A Fun Place For Children.
Best fresh fruits, vegetables, apple cider and baked goods, Delicious!!!
The yellow peaches are fantastic! I'd definitely recommend a visit, especially on weekdays
Had a great fun time at the hayride and shopping in the farm store
Went during my son's field trip. It was a mad house.
I go for the goats and love the market. I bought delicious honey and the fresh herbs are awesome. My only gripe is how crowded it is. It takes away from the experience. But that's life.
this is the best Fun Sweetest fruits we ever try thanks
Linvilla Orchards is a great place to take the whole family. Great food and entertainment, fun for the kids and grown ups too. Admission and parking are free, you can even pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Plenty of attractions. Going to Linvilla is a family tradition.
Just a great family fun spot. Beer garden is also enjoyable as well.
Cutest farm!! Visited for a food truck festival! So nice... great for kids..
Great food nice workers love it parking could be better but it's still great for the family!
Always loved the place. From the time my kids were small to even now when they're too old to want to go but I still love the local plant and produce. Support local farming!
Go during a weekday for peace and quiet. Weekends are super packed l. Apples taste amazing!
Lots of fun and variety. You can pick your own apples, blueberries, corn, peaches, etc.
Good season for apple picking. Very nice environment and good place for family outing.
By far, the greatest apple orchard I have ever been to.
Not many products sold here are actually grown on the farm. Just look on the labels and you'll see what I mean. Besides that, everything here is super expensive and over priced. If I'm picking my own fruit shouldn't that be cheaper than locally grown fruit I can get at a supermarket? I forgot, we're paying a premium for the "the experience"!!! No thanks.
Went to Linvilla for the first time today (my first orchard actually). I had a wonderful time. I wasn't prepared to pay so much money for the apples I picked, however the pleasure and serenity of walking through such beautiful orchards made the price worthwhile. I think they should outfit everyone with a lacrosse stick (that's what the apparatus looked like to allow you to pick high hanging fruit). My friend and I were not given one upon entering the orchard which made it challenging to gather the apples. Despite that.....it was a lovely experience. We then drove over the the farmer's market. What a delight! So many things to see.....a large area where there were a variety of sizes in pumpkins, general store, rides, etc. My only complaint is that yes....some of the staff are not that friendly. I asked a woman if the farm was open year-round (remember I said I have never been to an orchard or place like that farm) and she looked at me as if I had 2 heads. Also, the checkout people were somewhat rude (teenagers have to be taught customer service). All and all however, I will be back.
its always a great fun place for the kids, and kids at heart!
We had a really good time picking apples and the store had a lot to offer as well
Been going here forever. A bit on the higher end with prices but that's expected. Great Cider
Great time and lots to do. The family atmosphere is great and it's free to walk around and go see the markets and displays. The people who coordinated the halloween displays go all out. They make it out of pumpkins and straw etc. The apples were great at the u pick area. Highly reccomend the beer garden. It's nice and quiet area to have lunch and a sip or two of beer.
Although i enjoy shopping there and buying fresh fruit and vegetable i find it to be very expensive. The few items i bough cost me 110.00 dollar. Wow. I paid for them with my bank card. Be a while before we return I gave you a high
Rating because you food id fresh and ad a southern i vary good fresh items.
Too crowded. Couldn't move to get to the party area quickly. Bees were all over. Got all over the food. The food they served was great.
The fruits are good, but you to come early to get the best, ripe fruits. But the experience is too short, the main fruit picking anyway. It's a nice place to go, but don't expect the experience be long.
This was a great way to spend an afternoon! We visited during the fall Apple Festival and were treated to varied food vendors, live music, an apple pie eating contest, and huge crowds! If you visit during one of their many weekend events, be prepared to navigate through a sea of folks. We had a few different things for lunch (pierogies, mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwiches, apple cider donuts (!!!!) to name a few) and then headed over to the orchard for the main event. Here lies one of only two things I would improve: while at the main portion of the farm where the festival was held, I did not see one sign indicating where the pick-your-own orchard was located. We ended up asking a parking attendant and walked up the hill and across the street to the orchards. They offer boxes you can buy and fill ahead of entering the orchard so you don't need to worry about weighing and paying, which was so cool and convenient! We picked a few different varieites of apples, all delicious. By the time we left we were tired, hot but happy! I would add, however, that nursing mothers will find the grounds lacking in accommodation. I found a nice gazebo to nurse in when we first arrived, but nowhere to pump throughout our visit aside from an overcrowded bathroom, which doesn't count. All in all, we had a great time and will be back later in the season!
It was okay, lots of stuff closed but the kids had fun anyway.
Fun place for holiday festivities. Nice selection of Christmas tree's and holiday decor
This review has more to do with the staff they hire and tolerate than the products and other environment. So otherwise it would be a 3-4 star.
I bought a couple small items, small potatoes (literally), and some marked down plums.
When I went to check out there were two sides to the outside station, with the right side seeming backed up. The left side had a young female african american but she didn't say she was open.
She seemed to take a minute or so longer and I wasn't sure what she was doing, so I didn't make an effort to go to her side of the line. Out of respect.
So she finally says "You can come over".
I go over and hand my items, making small talk with she made no response to. You can tell when someone is being unfriendly to you, but you don't always know why.
So I got my total. I paid and walked around.
I then saw the receipt,.which is very small and not good readable quality. It showed the I had bought corn at 3.99 and the potatoes.
I didn't buy corn, but 3.99 was the original price of the plums. Before being on special at 2.99.
So I looked for the original cashier to let her know. I was trying to find the original so as to not embarrass her if she just made a mistake. I feel like basic respect can be to let the original person address an issue, and not bring it to everyone's attention.
I saw her and called out "Miss, I need you take a look at my receipt". She pretended to be too busy, and walked away. Again when you feel like someone may be being unfriendly to you, you may be right.
So I said "Miss! I believe I got overcharged." "Can you take a look at my receipt?".
The other young women working had their mouths drop, because they could see how I was being extremely polite and she was being extremely rude.
So one of the other young women said "Sir, did you need help? Do you think you got overcharged?".
And the original decided then was the time to actually speak and said "No he didn't.". But she didn't address me, or give me even the most basic respect.
She proceeded to explain that she had rang it up wrong, then voided, then corrected it.
So the receipt showed the wrong charges.
But at the bottom of the receipt, where unless you worked there you probably wouldn't know how to read it being it was also tiny and had faded spots in the numbers, it showed a void and a total.
I probably wouldn't have written this but honestly in today's culture, people are expecting the basic amounts of respect. And when you go out of your way to give it, and receive the opposite in return, it really goes a long way for shopping somewhere else.
Along that, I may have also not left this but I called and spoke to Joyce who said she was a manager to let her know.
She was nice and listened, but what didn't sit well in the exchange is when you explain everything as I did above and you are told "I'll talk to them, but honestly I've never had a complain about their attitude before."
In the world and in customer service, where you meet people, you need people who are one competent, plums as corn which wouldn't have been a big deal, and two show even the most basic of respect to others who have clearly given them more than they showed they deserved. I'd be hard pressed to believe that this was a first time, maybe I'm just the first to follow-up.
So if you go, be prepared, and don't feel alone if you don't feel like you were valued or showed the most basic respect.
They have a verity of fruits to pick and they have farm animals. Hey ride also available.
Great family place! Parking was free (which is always a plus) if you re bringing the little ones there s a huge playground, a petting zoo, and kid friendly hayrides. If you re like me and are more interested in the food/ plants they have to offer then you re definitely in for a treat! They have every thing from jams to delicious guilty pleasure breads and other sweet treats (I highly suggest trying their peach ice cream). The garden center shop has an amazing assortment with reasonably prices for their plants.
Fun place to spend time with kids, do picking, they even have kids area and little zoo! Stores are also great! Love it!
Too many people, not a ton to do. Not worth it in my opinion.
Love this place.Had car show so glad to get out.Store always has lots of homemade items etc.Outdoor picnic lunch under big trees.Big crowd.
had a wonderful time there, it's awesome, Enjoyed evey bit of it..
You can go pick pumpkins and apples and buy anything here you have to try there chilly cheese fries to
Much to do for the whole family! Love the bake shop and pumpkin selection. Pick your own is fun.
You have to come here to pick you own produce. Yummy apples, pears, grapes, etc! Fun Sunday outing!
Lots of fun activities for kids and adults! Great date night. Go on a hay ride or pick apples. Just check the website before picking apples, because it may be closed at certain times. I also recommend their apple cider donuts . Just make sure you get there early so you can get them hot. Yummy!
Love Linvilla! Their bakery makes great stuff and the kids always love seeing the animals and playing at the park.
This was our 1st time here and we enjoyed the Orchard. They have a Large selection of pumpkins & squashes. We didn't know about the Animals till a few minutes before we left, but we ran through & found that they had a lot of food truck / tents in the back left area. They did have goats, horses & deer. However, we had to leave back home.
4 years visiting this beautiful place and just today I get a bad experience in the place where they sell fast food, I approached to ask them to sell me 4 disposable cups and they said they are free, I tell you in a good way that thanks but I need 4 q if it is to pay he paid and the person who attended me opened the bag in a bad way and practically threw me the glass that went to the floor.
I do not understand how such a nice place they have that kind of people
My boys really like to go. Good place to be in the natural.
Various activities
If you have children up to 7-8 years. They will love it
Great!!! Plenty of fruits & veggies to pick. Staff was helpful . We will definitely be back soon!
Very saddened by our visit today. At first when we arrived at Linvilla, my mother and sister and I parked and were walking towards the bakery. Right away an employee came walking toward us and another family telling us to walk faster and "step it up" because there was a truck coming rudely. We were very happy with the friendliness of the woman at the checkout counter inside of the gift shop. After we purchased a dozen cookies, we went out to the BBQ/concession area and ordered some lunch. After my sister asked for onion rings and quickly changed her mind and asked for french fries the cashier rolled her eyes at me. After we ate we decided to pick apples to make apple pie so we headed for the exit. The woman outside asked if we had a receipt for the hat we bought because my mother was carrying it because ketchup spilled on the bag and we threw it out. The women persisted on seeing the receipt as if we stole the hat after seeing the sticker of "paid" cookies. Very unhappy with the staff, and we will never be back. Terrible business and greedy business owners.
Always a fun outing especially with kids. Large farmers market with hayride and holiday themed decoration. They also have a petting zoo with sheep, chickens, and may more animals. Good snack bar. A great place for a family outing.
The best place to visit with your kids .... I recommended !!!
Nice selection of plants
Cute store
Clean
Verdict: Went here for Pumpkin land. Great for families with kids, but not a lot to do for adults without kids.
Pros:
- There were a lot of Instagram-worthy places to take pictures, if that's what you're into.
- The markets were expensive but had interesting things that were worth a look.
- This place would be great for elderly people as there are many places to sit and rest or relax.
- There's a kid playground that I imagine is super fun if you're of that age.
- Ample parking
Cons:
- Food and snacks are expensive and don't taste fantastic either.
- It's very small. Not a lot to do. In and out in 30 minutes or so.
- It was full but spacious enough to not be crowded.
Love this place, but it was way too crowded today in the indoor portions. No physical distancing, people way too close together in checkout lines. Not a lot of masks. Shame.
Organic and fresh food from local farms, lots of different products.
