Great day out - Horse Racing and a Live Concert, with a complementary bottle of Prosecco !!
Everything high standard. Drinks at the bar area pricey
Refurbishment and better housekeeping needed!
I stayed a night at this hotel a little over a year ago and I couldn't stop singing its praises for being one of the exemplary Marriott brands.
Fast forward to this year - weekend of the 23rd to the 25th of August, 2019 to be precise! I couldn't believe it is the same hotel.
Housekeeping is seriously lacking! First room I was checked into had dirty carpets (crumbs and others probably from previous guest) and old toilet roll carcass not removed from toilet roll holder.
Second room I was transferred to had drainage problems for the sink and shower.
I'm only giving this stay a 3-star because of the staff and their responsiveness - but there's only so much they can do if the building is falling apart and housekeeping not being on top of their cleaning duties.
(2015) Been there for a workshop & conference with some collegues and everything worked out as expected. Very interesting and unusual atmosphere for work meetings with horse races and vast green fields around. The meetings rooms are equiped with all the facilitiies needed. The food was fresh and good. Cleaning level was good and the staff helped with all our needs. Chef special assian style dinner was AMAZING
Great course. Could do with more seating. Especially for disabled.
Very nice hotel. Loved the workout room, sauna and pool. The breakfast was delicious. They only issue we had was that the entire hotel lost internet for most of the evening, which caused me to not be able to work like I wanted
Brilliant place, amazing atmosphere, great food selection and of course drinks! All topped off with the horse racing! bravo! the race course I'm on about !
Nice hotel to stay. We had a good time for our nieces 21st.
everything was perfect today. great service and hospitality
Staff nice and friendly food good overall good stay.
This place is just beautiful and a perfect first experience in London. Great views , very clean, oh and lovely high tea. Love it
Very nice comfortable rooms, easy check-in and check out, free parking, not far from Gatwick
In reasonably good condition even after all the rain in the few days before we played , unfortunately we had the golf pro giving an on course lesson in front of us which made it slow going for the first 8 or 9 holes
Had a great stay here for the races. Shame about the weather.
Good fun racing & seeing Madness afterwards was great fun.
It was an average visit, I got given food off the menu which contained nuts even when they had been informed of my nut allergy months in advance.
Wonderful Spa day. Great facilities and excellent treatments by Laura. Really tasty lunch too. Highly recommend
Super stay for our anniversary and went racing. Excellent service, especially from Elly. Thanks
Stayed a few couple of years ago was lovely unfortunately this time room was a bit dirty staff all very helpful dinner in the restaurant was very nice rooms just need updating
Great staff great hotel stunning food would recommend to everyone. Well done everyone at the Marriott xxx
Nice to be in a place where the staff is always friendly and helpful for important events.
Great venue but rubbish food.....suggest take a picnic
Came here for a wedding but I also stayed at the Hotel. First of all this was a nice venue for a wedding with plenty of space and good views, the hotel was nice and pleasant didn't have an issue - the beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. Considering it is Marriott I expected it to be of high standard and it was. I highly recommend this Hotel.
Attended a wedding here at their pavilion suites. Decor and setting were fantastically pleasant and they graciously made sure that prayer facilities were available
Staff was incredible. The rooms are a little dated but ok and the location is really nice BUT the internet is abysmal and since the location is outside of town a bit mobile coverage isn t much help. If the hotel can improve that, this would ve been a 5 Star review
Overall very good and enjoyable stay. Stayed for 3 nights. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. A few hiccups with what was booked/not booked but I blame the website for that. Room was decorated to a high standard and did not find any faults. Bathroom was always spotless, towels clean and crisp. The room had a plentiful selection of power sockets (including bedside!) which most other hotels seem to struggle with. Breakfast was a wide spread of typical full English breakfast and pastries/cereal/fruit/yoghurt. All in all superb.
Nice location. Rooms also nice and modern. Breakfast was ok. Tables are sticky (tablecloth maybe?). Swimming pool with sauna and steam room was also wonderful.
All weather racecourse set in pretty location on the edge of Lingfield. Car parking directly opposite and good facilities for eating and drinking. Tote and William Hill bookies with on course bookies as well. Flat racing is on the all weather, the jumps are not. Grandstand gives a good view of the course.
I was there for a corporate event, the decor was nice but the toilets need an upgrade.
Visited for a professional event. Average catering, room was fine. Good view of the races
Had a lovely day every place was clean good disabled people only thing lack of food places a lot didn't open two won some money we enjoyed the day.
I have been to the restaurant as a guest at race days. The setting is lovely, food has been well presented and tasty with a good selection of wines. The staff are always very pleasantly and helpful.
A nice place to stay, conveniently located on the race track. They weren't racing during my stay, but I imagine it is quite an experience when they are.
Amazing view, spacious room and great facilities. We throughly enjoyed our stay there.
Totally over-rated and over-priced (we stayed in a superior room). We were so disappointed.
Our low-lights included:
Given a room with twin beds when we'd booked a king
Paid extra for a room with a balcony but no furniture for sitting out
On Gatwick flight path
Very uncomfortable, spongy beds
Tiny bathroom
Room not very clean and furniture / fittings were tired
Litter in lift and hallways
Swimming pool too small for proper swimming
Terrible hotel restaurant - poor food and customer service
Woken in the night by people bashing on our door and then early in the morning by kids running down the corridor screaming
The only positive was the nice staff on reception and in the bar.
Unfriendly checkin after failing to upgrade properly or offer correct welcome gift to Marriott platinum elite. Corrected, but with bad grace. Probably not bother with this place next time - a bit run down.
Good facilities, lots of event variety especially in the summer. Picture is if fireworks night bonfire 2019 .
Had a really lovely spa day here with friends to celebrate a special occasion. Staff were really friendly and the facilities were great. I would recommend the body mud mask - you'll glow afterwards. They have the standard steam and sauna room and pools to go for a dip. Lunch was absolutely fantastic and you look out over the race course. I left feeling incredibly relaxed. Thank you very much for helping us all chill out.
Underwhelming for a Marriot. Food and service not up to standard. Drinks exceptionally pricey. Nice area and nice spa though.
spacious room. Good choice of menu for dinner and breakfast.
Stayed as part of a race day package. Great place food and drinks.
Clean, modern. Bed a little hard. Great track view.
Very nice, can watch horse racing while having a drink
Great bedroom (2 DOUBLE beds in my twin room). Great food (the best hotel steak pies and fish&chips I've had in a long whilel. Excellent staff (especially the blonde Eastern European waitress and brunette bar lady) who were all friendly and affable in demanding, busy and hot circumstances as they were last weekend. A star is dropped though for not handling any cash whatsoever (and neglecting to aforemention it). Oh, and the course was attractive and challenging
One of my favourite racecourses. Brilliant atmosphere but very small bar area.
We were very disappointed with our experience this year. We had Lunch there when we arrived Friday, although there was only 4 people (2 of which were us) the waitress seemed like she couldn't cope, we had a very simple order of Club More
Simply fantastic race course and hotel and the bar is fantastic
Good golf course, plenty of challenging holes. Friendly staff
We visited to watch a race meeting from the hospitality suite and stayed overnight in the hotel.
The hospitality suite was a great way to view the races, and staff were really helpful about placing bets. Evening meal was great quality, as was the buffet style breakfast. We used the spa facilities and enjoyed the pool and sauna. I would definitely do this again.
Ended up at this hotel by chance, looking for accommodation outside London and relatively close to Gatwick. What we found is a gem just outside Lingfield, a little by-the-book English village. The hotel is nice and clean, rooms are spacious, the SPA and the pool are welcoming and there is a restaurant and a bar. The food choice at the restaurant is more limited than what I would prefer and I found the bar menu to be more convenient (especially liked the veggie platter and the melted Camembert). The hotel is right next to a golf course and part of the race course which gives it amazing sunset views. They also make a really good mojito!
