Our stay was fantastic, the only very minor thing that irked was that we had to queue for breakfast, he hotel does clearly inform guests of the peak times it was just difficult to understand as there was plently of vacant seating after we queued and it was 100% self service. We look forward to visiting again.

Up to this hotel we had been blessed in staying in some of Ireland's older manors and establishments. Limerick was more know for the Strand hotel so we gave it a try.
We were very happy that we did, the hotel was large as well as our room. We picked to stay in a room that had a view of the bay and a balcony. The room was nice with several couches and TV'S, but the real gym of the room was the balcony. It was behind glass so while not climate controlled was extremely nice with a glass of beer and a blanket. My wife and I could have slept outside it was so nice in fact.

My only complaints would be things that I believe some of these could be easily fixed.

- Our room appeared to have had recent water damage in the ceiling. While it was not "ugly" it was above the bed and was not "pretty" either.
- I believe this is a European thing, but the shower in our massive bathroom was tiny you almost could not move around.
- The contentintal breakfast was nice, but for the most part was very "large" chain in what it offered. I think their needs to be a way that guests with certain rooms might get cooked meals of choice.

Several good resturants are within walking distance. Good hotel for sure.

I use this hotel as my local pub, so you would expect me to generally approve, If I did not I would not use it. Neither staff nor management have asked me to write a review and I have made the statement above so as to ensure I am not accused of a conflict of interest. I cannot speak for the quality of the accommodation.
I do feel however that the hotel offers an excellent restaurant and a fine bar. The bar also offers an informal food service and the attached cafe has an excellent river view.
The WiFi on offer (free) is the fastest I have experienced in any hotel anywhere and I use it often. Sports programmes are available in the bar but are not obtrusive if you require quietness. The staff are friendly and eager to help.
I thoroughly recommend the Sunday Lunch Buffet that offers excellent food at a very reasonable price.

This review is not based on a stay. I wish it was.
Myself and friends stopped in for a drink on our way to the home of Munster Rugby. We had some drinks and some food. Staff were friendly and for a hotel bar we found the prices no more expensive than any other place we had been during our weekend.

As an Irishman I am ashamed to say that this was my 1st time in Limerick. Limerick is always the subject of bad press but i can now say i am a fan.I went to Limerick for a conference and stayed at the Strand. it was a beautyful Hotel the staff were great and very helpful. We attended a function at the Strand and i would recommend it for anyone looking to have a function of any sort. Five stars Limerick, a lovely city and 5 stars for the Strand Hotel i will be back.

This is the place to stay in Limerick. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast buffet is incredibly delicious and includes all the staples of an Irish breakfast. The rooms are clean and modern. Try booking a suite, they are amazing! Views of the river, King John's castle, and all from an enclosed balcony (no better place for an evening glass of wine). Will be returning.

Booked this Hotel for my Husband's Birthday. Stayed for two nights would have loved to have stayed longer. Hotel location is perfect and just a short stroll accross the bridge to the city centre.we were upgraded to a fabulous suite over looking the river, which made my Husband birthday so special. When we returned to our room after a visit to John's castle,a plate with chocolate sweets and happy birthday wrote on plate was so touching.Thank you. Hotel is spotless and all the staff are all so helpful and lovely.Breakfast was lovely,so much to choose from.food in bar was gorgeous. Would recommend this Hotel to stay in limerick.Thank you for making my Husband birthday so special. Hope to return again.

This place was in a nice location and convenient. Lobby was pretty, but lobby staff were not the most welcoming. The room (executive level) was not that clean and a service employee used a key and walked into our room without knocking, with the intention of "leaving an info pamphlet!" That was unnerving. Even if he thought the room was vacant, he didn't use a discretionary knock! Carpet was stained. Throw pillows and chairs looked worn and soiled. The view of the river was worthy of complement. The food buffet on executive floor was rather sad and didn't seem very hygienic. Overall, I wouldn't return if other choices available.

We had teribble experience with more than 10 hotels in Limerick. It was 3 of us, we had a problem with a car so we couldnt keep driving to our destination, and we try to find a room cause it was midnight, and we couldnt get any room, all of them told us they are fully booked. In this hotel stuff thought that we are drunk, but we were just exhausted and looking for place to sleep.

Vistied in December for a rugby match,Im still thinking about the incredible value for money, excellent service and amazing food. All the staff where friendly and professional. The hotel is warm, inviting, clean, modern and comfortable. Realy enjoyed everything I ate here breakfast, lunch and dinner. I look forward to returning as soon as possible. The river views at meals were beautiful. I would have loved smoked salmon in the breakfast buffet but everything else was perfect
