Hi readers,

Hi readers,
Unfortunately my family had two bad experiences with this hotel.
The first happened after my son's communion dinner. We had booked a meal for 16+ people on the day and the food was perfect I can't fault that but the reason we booked the dinner at this hotel was for the kids entertainment. We were told a number of times that one was on the way to our table but eventually we were told that the person had indeed left before coming to see our table. To make it a little worse a cake we had brought with us and handed into the staff was returned allmost melted ( we still are it )
Now the manager was very kind and did the usual we are very sorry and took some money off our meal and also gave us a family voucher to use the swimming pool, thank you.
Now on to the second bad experience. So today is my son's birthday and he wanted to go swimming, so we decided to go back but this time for a swim and a meal.
We rang the hotel to confirm the times for a public swim but when we got no answer we checked the website that stated 9 to 7 so we headed out.
When we got to the hotel I left the kids and there mum off a reception drove underground and parked the car. I then went in to the hotel to meet them at the pool. I met them walking out and a staff member informed them that it was appointment only and that we would not be allowed in today. Now what could I have done to prevent this?
We had tried to ring a number of times but got no answer.
The website said it was open.
At the time we arrived two people were in the pool and four in the hot tub, I'm assuming more than 6 are allowed in to use the facilities.
What made all this even worse was the attitude of the lady who would not let us in. You don't need to be rude to people and everyone can have a bad day but don't bring that into work with you and take it out on other people.
We had to leave and ended up going to the university of limerick pool. I also had to pay for parking.
This is the last time we will be going back to the hotel, this second incident happened today 03/07/19 between 12:25 & 12:40.
We still have the voucher and will return in the post. I had read the reviews prior to posting my own and they all seem very good but as a whole some work needs to be done within the hotel.
You can't please everyone I know that but we should all be treated the same. We had a very disappointing experience.

The hotel has a nice riverside location and is easily accessible from the airport. It is close to the center, where there are many bars and restaurants.
Admittedly, it can be expensive depending on the season, but the rooms are nice and clean and the bathroom has a bath and shower. The hotel has a gym and a swimming pool also accessible to the public.
The breakfasts are good and the choice is varied. The omelette is prepared according to wishes on the spot.
There is a very nice gentleman from Poland at the reception.

Excellent hotel in the centre of limerick city. Beautifully situated along the lovely river shannon with great views of Limerick, King John's Castle and St Marys Cathedral. Great venue for a wedding and the bar serves great food and have a good selection of beer's and spirits.

The facilities were clean, but the staff seemed very snobby and not very welcoming to our group. Room was called from the front desk for making excess noise while we were trying to sleep, and weren't even making any noise! The breakfast costs extra, and the food was mediocre for the price.

Very classy, perfectly located and with all amenities. Unfortunately a bit stiff and not really something for children who were not even allowed in the swimming pool in the whirlpools. Parking relatively expensive (for that you could park for free in the street around the corner).

We had a great stay. From the reception where the girls was very friendly and quick. I appreciate that because sometimes you stay in the hotel lobby about 10-15 min with baggage and tired kids that shout and cry. Is good when you someone that know what they do and move quick. The room was decent. We will defiantly try to get few more days here.

I stayed with my wife on new years eve since we hadn't treated ourselves in the last few years. The rooms were nice and check-in was efficient. We had pre-booked the new years eve dinner downstairs with two friends but it was probably one of the worst meals I have had, even for new years eve. It was very apparent that the food had been made earlier and left in the freezer. My fish cake was tiny with a little garnish, not freshly made but defrosted from a package. Potatoes were hard and lumpy and one portion of vegetates for four people, when I ask for more service pointed at the bowel and walked away. The chips and onion rings with the steak were cooked in old oil and tasted terrible.
We put that behind use and decided to have a few drinks at the bar, but this was no better. There was eight staff inside the bar and two floaters, it took 30 min to get served even though the bar was not that busy. It was as if the staff were on a go slow. We ended up leaving and going across the bridge to another bar to have a few drinks.
This is NOT the place too go on New Years Eve.
