In late 2012 Stan Pipikin s team at Lighthouse Solar led by Jeff Bindall installed both a solar photovoltaic system (generates electricity using the sun) and a solar thermal system (heats water using the sun) at our house.

The installation was first rate with Jeff asking the right questions and listening carefully to assure the installation was top notch not only to the best industry standards, but also met our particular needs and desires.

Both systems have run without issue since installation. The solar photovoltaic system has produced 28.6 megawatt hours of electricity. With the electricity production, the Austin Energy Rebates, and the federal rebate the system has now paid for itself. We expect the system to continue producing electricity at least to the end of the ten year warranty period so have at least six more years of free energy left.

The solar thermal is very efficient and was installed with a recirculating pump which assures we have hot water for showers and hand washing immediately instead of wasting the water while running it to get warm. It s nice not to pay to heat our water while at the same time saving water which would otherwise be wasted.

Jeff has checked in periodically to make certain the systems are working well and meeting our expectations. We re very happy with the performance of Lighthouse and the systems they installed!
