Beautiful view, sitting right between Vancouver downtown and Stanley park. With professional staff service and its delicious entree, this restaurant is a must visit for my family in Vancouver every year.

Sadly, this lovely looking place has some of the most horrible staff I have ever encountered in Vancouver. When we arrived, and after we explained that we had a short amount of time, we were told we would have to wait 10 minutes, after 20 minutes, we were told we would have to wait another 10 minutes. After that we were told it would be a half hour. The incompetence was unparalleled in my experience. We never ate there and in fact, I never will. There were at least 20 empty tables (clearly the management cannot sort out how to staff a busy Friday lunch hour). There were maybe 1 or 2 other people in line and others left as well. A bad day? fair enough, maybe...but you have one chance to impress or repulse a potential customer. This was a massive failure. If you are looking to eat quickly, DO NOT go here. I look forward to seeing what comes next after this place closes given its lack of customer service capacity. A comfortable, quick, healthy and delicious meal was had close by.

We had to wait to be seated even though the restaurant was a third full because the hostess was nowhere to be found. We were then sat a table in the back corner of the restaurant with no view, when we came here specifically for the view of the water and mountains. The food is overpriced for what you get.

Planned a little date night with my husband, from taking a walk in Stanley Park to even going to Canada Place. I couldn't stop ordering everything off their happy hour menu. I appreciate how well the staff are dealing with covid measures. My waitress was also the best, recommended some amazing food and wine.
Not to mention, a beautiful view outside as well.

The food is delicious and the scenery is very nice and comfortable. I like the atmosphere at night. It's a little expensive, but I personally like sushi. The combination is unique but delicious, and you can study cooking.
In the daytime, it's easy to enter because there are burgers and fish and chips. I think happy hours are really good deals, so I think you can aim for them. This is one of the shops I would like you to visit when you come to Vancouver. The staff at the bar are kind and easy to talk to, and the people at the server are bright and upscale, but I thought it would be a comfortable place to spend!

Surprisingly poor quality all around. First time I had visited in years but unlikely I will ever return. The location is second to none, however that is all I can say that is positive. Service: nearly 10 minutes to have a drinks order taken, another 10 for them to arrive. Then proceeded to arrive at different times. It didn t get better over time. Inattentive and inconsistent. The appetizers (beef short ribs) were dry and lacked any meat. The chicken karaage appeared to be smothered in what appeared to be a store bought hot sauce. The dinner seafood linguine had a tasteless sauce that was really nothing but butter. Inedible. Feedback from others at the table all described their seafood as bland with no taste. For that price, there are some wonderful restaurants in Vancouver I would rather spend my money at. Despite premium pricing, quality of food tasted cheap. Such a shame given the location. Disappointing overall.

Can't go wrong with the view and decor. Don't bother going there, though, if you see that it's at all busy. We waited 1.5 hours for dinner after ordering then finally walked out. Somehow, as a customer, we were expected to sympathize with how 'busy' they are.

Amazing spot to sit by the water and enjoy a beautiful Vancouver summer's day.

The food here is very good -- and the staff are friendly without being too in your face.

I had the sashimi and it good, not exceptional, but very good value for money - fresh and well presented.

Great service especially on weekdays. Tasty food with a simple and conservative selection. Nice location and ambience for both large parties and date nights. Not too busy but can be during peak hours. Appetizers to try, tempura shrimp and calamari.

Ok

The first time I gave 5 stars. Unfortunately that was not the case with our next visit. I could not choose a tip when paying with the credit card. The waiter automatically took 20%. Too bad

It was a quiet Friday night but the service was still very slow. Even with just getting the drinks to the table. For the price the meal was mediocre. I ordered the duck and it was dry. The moules frites sauce seemed like it could have been canned. Been there twice now and this was the last

Yes, we stopped in for the view. That was it. All downhill. The drinks were average and the food stunk. Yes, we stopped after walking around at 5:00pm, so we got the Bar Bites menu. OMG it was terrible. We got the two more expensive items, seafood platter and cheese board. Seafood was bad, tough shrimp, something soft we assume was a scallop and the salmon, was so tough it was salmon jerky. The Cheese board was bad. The cheese was so hard, as was the toast ( it was not toast, it was stale) was so hard, I think they took it out of the display window and served it to us. Have a drink, enjoy the view, save the energy to walk somewhere else for dinner. We spent a week in Vancouver, and this was the most expensive meal and worst we had. Poor

Great view into the Vancouver Harbour. Great welcome into the restaurant, and fantastic service. I had the Kangaroo filet. I know it doesn't sound that appetizing, but it was very flavorful and tasted like game meats. It was a great experience to share with a great group of friends.

Chose this place for my partners birthday but it turned out being a mistake.
When I called to make the reservation I informed the person on the phone is was my partners birthday so would appreciate a good view. He laughed and said but it s dark outside. Il give you a good view but you won t see anything. Good selling point to someone trying to make a booking?
Anyway once we got in there the issues started. The greeting (from the same guy who took the phone call) was cold and immediately portrayed a negative ambience for us. Not once did he wish my partner a happy birthday or even mention it. Throughout the whole meal. Nothing..Anyway we ordered. Myself fish and chips and my partner the burger.
The food itself, average. The burger was basic served with frozen fries and the batter around my fish and chips was undercooked! I just didn t enjoy it at all.
We paid the bill (nearly 100$) and went to leave (hungry)
On the way out the same maitre d IGNORED US as he was looking down at his phone! Not even acknowledgement or a goodbye!!!! I just couldn t believe the level of customer service, especially after paying such a large amount for a below average meal!
This was the icing on the cake and I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The stall seem like they just cannot be bothered. Never again

This place is over priced average food at best. The view is amazing and the atmosphere is top notch. But unfortunately the food is just ok. It s not much better than a chain restaurant in quality of meal. And to top it all off. The waiter smelled terrible.

First time that we have been out to a restaurant since March 15 and what a wonderful experience Lift provided, felt secure because staff have mask on and as usual the food was great. Thanks

Stood and waited to be seated and just ignored. Had to ask one of the sour faced waitresses if she could seat us which she reluctantly did. When seated again had to ask if we could order as just ignored. Very unwelcoming waitress took our order snapping questions at us. Have eaten here before and was very good but this time seems like none of the staff want to be here!

Went last week for dine out, besides the little lamb preappetizer, and dessert, this place really isn t worth $40. The place was only 30% full and between each course a solid 20 minutes passed. Entree was not fantastic for the price. Service was very slow - maybe their regular menu tastes better?

Had a good selection of beer. 1 Star is because the waitress working the upstairs patio tonight (march 30th) was terribly rude and incompetent. Waited over half an hour for the bill, during which time we could see her chatting and wasting time. I would not recommend this place to anybody else.

Great view specially in the upper patio. The food is pricy and usually not that good and filling. It s a good place to have a drink and finger food and to bring an unforgettable first impression to your date ;)

Unfortunately the management is quite poor. I've had very good and very bad experiences here, so The Lift is not a place to hold consistent expectations. The food is good, but not memorable. Redeeming factors are the patio and amazing view of the ocean, specifically good for sunny summer days.

Had the sablefish and the rumchata mousse cake and it was all delicious. Service was fast and polite and overall we had a great meal. Would definitely come back here again when visiting Vancouver in the future.
