Brilliant little spot. Great atmosphere, great servers, decent food.
Brilliant little spot. Great atmosphere, great servers, decent food.
The food is fairly unique, the fries were not great; several other tables were sending them back. Don't know if it was an off day or just poor fry/seasoning choices (they were weak and fell apart when you grabbed them). Salads were very pleasant with just enough of everything to make it work (i'm looking a you blue cheese).
The view is fantastic, you can't argue with air conditioning on a 35 degree day overlooking sea otters playing, float planes taking off and boats going about their business.
The service was not good, I can't place if they were short on waiting staff or it just took a really long time for the waitress to grab drinks.
There seemed to be a lot of people in the kitchen, several host staff and valet staff but we sat for a very long time before anyone acknowledged our existence; and that was just to ask if the waitress had been around yet. We ended up placing our order with a woman i assume is the manager of the front of the house. Other tables were sitting with their food done for quite a long time looking around waiting for the waitress.
I'd personally go back for drinks, lots of selection. But i don't think i'd go back for a romantic meal or the like.
We had a party of 6 off-season.
The location and setting are beautiful and decor contemporary. Staff were professional and timely. Starters and meals were nicely prepared and replacements made at the request for dietary restriction. Portions were adequate and the presentation aligned to the menu.
Similar meals can be had in the area for less, pricing is a premium due to location.
Superb breathtaking views of the Mountains, Stanley Park & Downtown Vancouver. Omg the entire Resturant sits in the water. They have floor to ceiling windows so that no one misses out on the spectacular view from anywhere in the Resturant. This is Vancouver's first Resturant that has a Waterfront rooftop deck, with unique Fire features, & the entire harbour view.
Lift serves mouth watering fresh Seafood, lots of delicious Salad combinations, award winning Wines, fantastic beverage selections, & let's not forget the best desserts to set the right mood.
We 4 had visited Lift bar & Grill for lunch.
We started with there Signature Salad consisting of Goat Cheese, Spicy Pumpkin seeds, Sultana raisins, tomatoes, cucumbers & a white Balsamic vinaigrette.
We also ordered another salad known as the burrata, this had Porto figs, walnuts, mint, heirloom tomatoes & 1 slice of garlic toast. Last appetizer item was the Red Crab Cake with fried capers, frisee, & Tarter sauce. Oh God I have never had Crab cakes this good anywhere in all of Vancouver.
These were just some of the best items we had at The Lift bar & Grill View resturant. Customer service at the Lift is very friendly, quick, knowledgeable, efficient
& always welcoming
Lift bar & Grill View Resturant is 1 I recommend to all Seafood lovers, die hard Romantics, & all who love good food, good wine & Good conversations to come give it a try & enjoy what Vancouver has to offer.
Never in my life have I written a bad dinning review.
My experience on April 22nd, 7pm left me extremely poor taste. I regret to leave this negative feedback but the management need to see this.
A week prior, upon seeing this prime waterfront establishment location, I did not hesitate to book my 4th year anniversary with my girlfriend. Given all the positive reviews, we were expecting less wait time and attentive service. However, we got neither.
15 mins passed since we were sat down in the far upper corner and we were left sipping on water, watching other patrons (who arrived after us) getting served drinks and appetizers. Our waiter, around 30 years old came back to read us the dinner specials before disappearing once more. We waited in the corner hungry and confused. I was not about to have our special night ruined. Under the suspicious eyes of the waitresses, we paid for our drinks and left quietly.
We are not picky people but we could not stand another minute at Lift Bar Grill View. We ended up walking over to Caderos and despite the line up, we were greeted with much respect and attentive service any reputable restaurant should deliver.
To the Lift Bar Grill View management, when patrons get better service from a restaurant 3 mins away, you have some serious catching up to do.
Will NOT return or recommend this restaurant.
Happy hour food and drink is fantastic! Also try martini mondsys
This was my first time at this restaurant and the food was good and the staff was very friendly. The view was awesome. I would come back to this restaurant again.
This is the absolute best Sunday brunch in Vancouver. Beautiful view, free valet parking (on Sundays) and delicious food. They have a unique Benny selection and if you like to be creative.. like me, you could order something to really tease your taste buds. I've never tasted a better Benny than their vegetarian one with optional crab (which makes it even better). I take clients and friends there for birthdays. Perfect treat and fantastic service.
Staying at Westin Bayshore for international conference. Restaurant clearly had open seats and refused to sit us for a drink. Waitress had a very poor excuse.
really good simon. Thank you. And The waiter is very kind, attentive
We had a fabulous lunch sitting on the deck and enjoying Vancouver's finest view with the yachts and boats passing by as we sipped on a cold glass of white wine in the sunshine. The food was inventive, beautifully prepared and presented and was excellent. We wondered why we don't come here more often. It's reasonably priced, but top quality and the location can't be beat!.
Great place, and honestly not what I expected. It seems like most of the older high-end restaurants in Vancouver have uninspired menus and relatively lackluster food. This place however is an exception, interesting and fresh menu (I've only been here for brunch) with lots of interesting and well prepared/well plated dishes. Service and atmosphere both unsurprisingly top notch.
Why 5 stars?
Here s why: I walked in with no reservations, the front host was very pleasant. Got a seat with an amazing view of downtown, the water, and the mountains. I mentioned that I only wanted a cup of coffee and dessert, and the waiter was amazingly hospitable.
The coffee was fresh, and the view made it even better.
The ambiance is amazing overall.
TLDR - go here, enjoy the food, enjoy the service, take in the view.
Beautiful setting, decent food. They helped us celebrate our anniversary in a lovely way.
amazing view & food! would definitely recommend this place
I don t give many 5 stars. This place makes amazing food. Their servers a great. There was a mishap with the order and it was promptly fixed which is amazing. One downside is when the sun is coming down their glass windows shone light on our eyes and that was a bit comfortable was only about 10 minutes during the stay. Wine was good. Amazing view. Will be back.
What a great place!!!!!!!!! All seafood was fresh and delicious, the view is great. Will be back for sure!!!!
Extremely unwelcoming, condescending reception when asked about menu (referring to Airport restaurant)
Nice view for drinks and chatting, but the food's mediocre and service is very hit and miss. I'll return, but only because there's a lack of better places with a view of the water on the peninsula.
Nice views, food and drinks are pretty good, prices are bit higher but that's expected
Very nicely located above the port of Vancouver. Top service, large selection of drinks. To linger!
Fantastic location, very Covid conscious seating and separation of eating areas. We like the appetizers better than the main courses. Their dessert selections could be better. Good Ceasars salad. Yummy salmon cakes.
Best squid I ve ever had, very tasty all round! Friendly staff and absolutely stunning views with perfect music and atmosphere.
The Lift is one of our favorite local places for afternoon drinks with appetizers, or full dinners. We often bring visitors to Vancouver here as it has lovely views and is right on the water. Good food and good service are a feature. The decor is mellow and the entire small building floats on the water.
I like lifts casual menu, but the done out menu was terrible. Such a small amount of food, myself and my partner actaully went home and made another dinner because we left hungry. The food itself was not enjoyable.
Fantastic views. Great food and wonderful staff. Always have great time here. Would highly recommend!
The fries were amazing and same with truffle Mayo on the side! The mini aquarium gave the restaurant a clean look. The burger was outstanding with the truffle mayonnaise. But the sushi had very big portions and was hard to eat but was good. The sushi rice was delicious as well
We just had dinner there! The quality of the food was really bad. I had burrata and prawn linguine. I specifically asked and emphasized for no onion in my pasta and surprised my food arrived and it was full of chunks of onions! The server was nice though... won t go back!
A little pricey but the view upstairs by the water makes up for it. Make sure you take some nice photos!
I chose to book this restaurant for my son's 21st Birthday and booked it via our Concierge service with our travel agent! What an underwhelming experience from start to finish! The front of house hostesses need some serious upskilling in customer service. We received not a warm welcome but a frosty one! Considering we booked this some time ago we were then seated not in the main restaurant but upstairs in an outside seating area under some sort of tarpaulin. Only one or two diners were up there so no atmosphere and freezing cold! I have dined in many fine restaurants throughout the world and the food in this one was acceptable in presentation but not amazing in taste considering the price you are paying. Our waiter was pleasant compared to your front of house staff, but i have received better service in other restaurants we have frequented since staying in Vancouver.
Overall really upsetting experience for us as a family considering the event! You are only 21 once and the experience was not a memorable one!
Gorgeous setting. Food is horrendously overpriced but the menu is nice and has something for everyone. Service is good and as you d expect. This place is lacking in the details that their price point would make you think they have covered.
The mains were very good. But the calamari and blue cheese cauliflower starters were very underwhelming. Service and drinks were top notch. The rest of the meal and the service made this a five star review even with the disappointing starters. Pricey but definitely worth it.
Lovely place with tasty food, great service and amazing views.
Great happy hour specials with a million dollar view/location.
I had lunch with some of my colleagues. The food was absolutely wonderful, very pleasing. We highly recommend it.
Pretty fancy restaurant, nice food, great service, will definitely go there again someday
Beautiful views. Great food and cocktails. Also have a great wine selection
Lift Restaurant did a fabulous job for us for our Christmas party last Wednesday evening.
The food was excellent, the service warm and friendly - it was the perfect atmosphere and we are still talking about it a week later!
Thank you to everyone involved in making this dinner one of the best!
We will have to come back in the summer to take in the views.
Probably some of the best views to enjoy good quality wine and food.
Great views and great brews - food holds its own. Dine outdoors on several terrace decks when the weather allows - near the fire pit if possible. This gem is a short walk to Stanley Park, giving you a good way to walk off any dining or drinking indulgence.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation, professional staff, comfortable dining, gorgeous views, superb location, great all around vibe!
Rooftop is wonderful. Menu was a bit lacking in options as well as value. Would be back for drinks on the roof, though.
Expensive place for tourists and rollers. Good food and service.
Fantastic daily happy hour (3-6 PM) with an amazing view of the water to go with it! I would easily give this place 4 5 stars if it wasn t for the poor service.
We stopped here yesterday on a lovely Sunday afternoon and were seated promptly in their bar (designated happy hour area). They have a great, extensive happy hour food menu. We tried the following:
Oysters ($1.50 each) FOUR STARS We had some great and some not so great quality oysters. There were a couple in the bunch with chipped shells, the shucking needed some work.
Salmon gravlax flatbread ($8) FIVE STARS The menu says it comes with creamed spinach but the one we received had arugula with olive oil and capers. Great flavours and a good portion of salmon!
Tempura shrimp ($10) FIVE STARS We ordered the Humboldt squid but received the tempura shrimp instead, however we were not disappointed! The shrimp were bouncy, large and flavourful! The portion was also quite fair.
Mimosa ($5.50) FOUR STARS Refreshing!
The service we received from the gentleman was very lacking and disappointing. We had empty dishes piled up and empty drinks that were not attended to. He got our order wrong (shrimp instead of squid) and we waited a long time for our bill before we finally flagged him down.
I love the happy hour menu here but would love to see improvement on the service.
We came for Dine Out Vancouver 2019, 3 of us had that menu, the 4th guest ate from the regular menu. There wasn't a scrap of food left on any plate! The service was excellent, the food and wine pairings were perfect. The view was terrific and I will be back!
One of the nicest on water restaurants in Vancouver. A great date spot. Get there when the sun is setting.
Great View, but they can enrich their menu a little bit.
The harbour side location of this bar/restaurant is its main asset but it also serves great food and drinks, and the service is excellent. If you like a spicy cocktail, try the spicy prawn Caesar.
Went to Lift with some trepidation as the reviews I read were mixed. The location is a (multi) million dollar view and set up. We arrived and found that it was happy hour at the bar and we gave it a try. Excellent selection of food and drink for a happy hour and extremely well priced. Saw a variety of dishes come off and they all looked great. Certainly a "5" for my happy hour experience. Not sure if paying full fare for the full menu would have changed my view, but very happy to recommend the 3-6 pm happy hour.
Slow service and poor quality fish. Bronzino was served table side and butchered. Full of bones. Asked for a manager to call the next day and didn t receive call.
It was my big mistake to choose this restaurant even though i knew that there were lots of bad reviews about this place, especially about services. I thought i would give it a try but i was wrong.
I made a reservation for 10 people on friday evening to celebrate my engagement. Food was okay, not the best i had, view wasn't as nice as i expected but those are not the reason why im giving one star. If you only care about food and view, and not so much about the service you are getting when you expect to spend couple of hundred dollars for your special night then this place may be the one for you.
The service i and my fiancee had was terrible. First of all the waitress kept coming to us to ask if we wanted to order drinks, i clearly told her i wanted to wait until all my family members were there but she came more than 5 times asking if we were gonna order drinks. Then, after everyone came, we decided to share gifts and rings in front of our parents before food comes. I asked the waitress to prepare and bring all the meals at the same time. However, the food came separately and it was very obvious that we were in the middle of doing something to celebrate our engagement but the waitress didnt care at all. She was in so much hurry to put the tray down on the table and even asked my fiancee to move stuff on the table so she can put her tray down. The waitress didnt care or oaying attention to what we were doing. All she cared was to do her job to bring tray and disappear. Then after we were done with meals she was again hurrying to get rid of all the trays when my dad didnt even finish his meal, dropping utensils on the table and clearing table while my dad was still eating. Then, she brought the bill and never asked how the food was or didnt even care what we were celebrating. She only came once to fill up the water for an hour and half.
Well, they charge you 18% gratitude automatically on your bill and maybe thats why she didnt care so much about the service that we deserved. We spent about 600 dollars for an hour and half dinner but no one was happy after. I have been to lots of fine restaurants in vancouver and this was the worst place. I will never go back or even recommend to anybody.
Lastly, if the manager or anybody reads this message, i want them to know that people also expect a very good service, not only good food or views, when they go to a fine, decent and reputable restaurant. I think this restaurant is way far from making that reputation and has a long way to improve their service or train their waitresses based on my experience and reviews here.
I came through on my way to Stanley Park. I was greeted by a nice host, seated immediately, and was greeted by my server right away. I'm a bit of the element here with my cruiser board and camera, but I don't feel like I was discriminated against for that. The patio has beautiful views, soft music, and boats regularly floating by. All in all, fantastic experience. Highly recommend this spot.
Great view, and I had an overall fantastic experience at lift. From the food, to the ambience, the safety protocols, and the service I could not have wished for better. The fries here are a must! :)
Beautiful location, right on the water. Literally - our table was 6 inches from the water - separated by a glass wall. We were seated right on the harbor facing the setting sun and had a great experience. We ordered off the appetizer menu and everything was very good.
Located right in the Harbor with beautiful scenic views. Couldn't seat on the roof terrace in the end of September, just a bit cool and windy. Our second wonderful lunch in Vancouver. Great food, great services, and very good drinks shared with good friends. The Halibut and Chips was delicious, the Garlic Prawns was my favorite.
It is in great location,
Rich menu, great food, friendly crew
Absolutely an excellent experience! The food was spectacular! My friends and I loved the food and already thinking about going back ! Service was excellent as we were taken care of as if we were the only ones there! The water view was stunning! Imagine sitting outside in the patio in the summer time! Will definitely go back n recommend to all my friends and coworkers!
Lift has been and continues to be my favorite restaurant. Tonight we had a bad experience with one of the servers named Adel. However, when we brought it up to restaurant's manager, he was apologetic and made sure to compensate for the terrible customer experience. No other restaurant beats the food and view of this restaurant. Just make sure you don't get a server with a chip on her shoulder
Great views all around the entire resturant. The steak was amazing!
Went just for some drinks and for a small bite. The view is stunning and from almost any seat in the place and it has a very cozy feeling. A must go in the summer on the roof top terrace!
Been there 2 times and felt each time Staff were not so friendly and in general not happy people. Foods are not too bad but not worth the price. The only good thing in this restaurant is the view.
Great plates for sharing. Gorgeous views and a wonderful space to sit outside and watch the boats go by.
Best view on the water. Service was fantastic. Food was very tasty and not overwhelming.
Scenary was great, service was great, the good though was underwhelming for sure
We will be returning for more of the sushi! Some of the best we've had
The hospitality in this bar/restaurant was great. All staff were attentive and courteous. We sat at the bar for happy hour and had two appetizers. The sushi rolls.....awesome!!!! Can t forget the yummy cocktails. They don t employ bartenders, they re mixologist!!! Thank you Lift for a great experience.
Great serve. Stunning views. The food is always fabulous... Pls bring back the lobster Benny! Miss it so much. My fav brunch spot. The roof top is
Our visit to Lift was a wonderful experience with attentive service, wonderful ambience and fabulous meals! I highly recommend a stop at Lift.
Started with oysters and scallops, followed with tuna and halibut, a true west coast tasting experience.
Atmosphere is a perfect waterfront setting.
Show off Vancouver!
